So I've lived in this area for over 40 years and this is the 1st time I e ever been by here. No I did not check in nor did I visit. The Mabel Bassett Correctional Center (MBCC) is a women's prison in McLoud, Oklahoma, operated by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. It's the largest women's prison in the state, housing around 1,241 female inmates across minimum, medium, and maximum security levels. The facility, established in 1998, serves as the reception and assessment center for all female inmates in Oklahoma and includes specialized units for mental health, medical care, and the state's female death row, which currently holds one inmate, Brenda Andrew. It's named after Mabel Bourne Bassett, a pioneering prison reformer who served as Oklahoma's Commissioner of Charities and Corrections from 1923 to 1947.
