I had a very disappointing experience with M0851. I ordered a bag (around $150) over 6 months ago through their website, which clearly serves both U.S. and Canadian customers. I live in the U.S., so I reasonably assumed the item would ship domestically or at least that any additional costs would be clearly disclosed upfront. Fast forward 6 months later--I suddenly receive a bill from FedEx for an additional $50 US in customs fees. This was never communicated at the time of purchase. Being charged unexpected fees half a year later is completely unacceptable. If M0851 is selling to U.S. customers, they should either: * Ship from within the U.S., or * Clearly warn customers about potential customs/duties before checkout Transparency is the bare minimum for an international brand. I reached out to customer service, and the experience only added to my frustration. Overall, this was a disappointing and poorly handled situation. Very poor quality leather on crossbody the bag I bought recently. Looks cheap. The previous high quality has apparently been substituted with crap. Definitely not worth $150. Looks like vinyl. Haven't heard back with return instructions. Not surprised as I couldn't get anyone to help me when the bag did not show up for over two weeks and no shipping notification had been sent. To everyone reading this: Do NOT order anything from them. I placed an order with this company on October 9th, almost a month ago and guess what? NOTHING. No shipping, no tracking, no updates. And the worst part? THEY DON'T REPLY TO ANY EMAILS. Not one. I've also messaged them on Facebook and Instagram completely ignored. At this point I'm seriously wondering if this company is even still alive. Are you guys bankrupt? Closed down? LOVE THE PURSES BUT INEXISTENT SUPPORT. Extremely disappointed with my recent experience ordering from m0851. I placed an order almost two weeks ago, and still haven't received it -- despite the website stating 5-10 day shipping via FedEx. In the past, shipping within Montreal took less than five days, which is why I ordered with confidence, expecting it to arrive in time for my sister-in-law to bring back to Germany. She's leaving today, and the item still hasn't arrived. Now I'll be forced to pay international shipping myself -- easily adding a third of the item's cost. To make matters worse, customer service is completely unresponsive. Emails go unanswered, no one picks up the phone, and I can't even check my order status because the password reset for my account doesn't work -- and there's no tech support to help. Really disappointed by the lack of communication and support from a brand I previously loved and trusted. read more

I have been a big fan of m0851 bags for a long time, but I placed an order over a month ago -and crickets. Can't even get customer service to follow up at all after 3 tries. So disappointed. Get on their mailing list and go to their bi-annual sample sales to pick up your chic, kick-ass leather jackets, messenger bags, wallets and purses. Prices are high but if you go to the sample sales, you'll save up to 70% off. I got a winter jacket which originally went for $800, I snapped it up on sale at $240. The leathers are beautiful, the style are clean and classic, yet modern at the same time. This stuff will last you a lifetime if you look after it properly so it's worth the investment since they won't go out of style anytime soon. I'm a fan because I LOVE their simple, awesome, chic leather bags. They come in a good range of neutral and bright colours, wonderful designs, smooth leather that will soften and look beautiful over time (my sister owns a couple of bags). The only major caveat is the PRICE. Even at 50% off, you are looking well over the $100 range. Seriously!! Their gorgeous leather jacket is $750. Ouch. I wanted to surprise my wife and ordered a nice blue hobobag online from the Montreal shop. After more than 4 weeks delivery the box with the bag finally made to us. Well, let me put it this way. It was not worth waiting that long. What we received for more than 200 CDN$ was a bag with a long scratch along the front side. Guess what, my wife wasn't surprised at all. Talking to the shop, showing them pictures of the scratched bag ended up in silence from the Montreal shop. They just hide away! They even don't know how to put an invoice right for customs and tax declarations. I do not speak any French, so I don't know how to ask for customer care, but I am glad there is the social media to let you know what is happening. I found this store during a recent trip to Montreal. I was immediately drawn in by the smell of quality leather. It took me 5 seconds to fall in love with the leather jacket of my dreams. It is fine Italian calf skin leather. It is very thin and very chic. The lines are perfect and the fit - well, it was made for me - at least it looks that way. Yes my friends, it is a little pricey but can you put a price on pure happiness? In addition to finding a perfect chocolate leather jacket, the sales people were fantastic and not at all snobby. Marc is fabulous! Thank you Marc!!!!!! He was a dream and so patient as i tried on two jackets for about 20 minutes before finally picking mine! I am very impressed with the product and the staff as well but not so much at the time of purchase. My wife got a really nice bag so worth 330 bucks no question. It rang in for 360 + tax? I questioned it stright away. The clerk advised me the price of 360 was right and I firmly suggested that the price on the tag was the price we were expecting to pay! She then questioned if that was the right tag? I said yes you just took it off the bag and put it on the counter so she scaned it and suggested yet again the price was 360 and it is the correct price. I said we are expecting to pay 330 as that is what the tag says. She then offered to give us 30 cash. I said I want to get the tax as well so she gave us 34.50 back and now my wife ended up paying the price of the bag as per the tag in the store plus the proper tax of course. What a fuc... beep mess. It was all on her credit card but rather then refunding and doing the transaction again at the correct price we were made to deal with this part cash refund and make change for a 40 which turned out to be harder then expected on top of everything else going on. My advice: get the sales recipt stright away and keep your dam eyes peeled on the tag don't let the sales person toss it make sure it all matches up with what you pay becuase if it happened to us it could happen to you. Fine put the prices up your bags are worth it but please change the tags as well to reflect the new prices. read more

This is the downtown location. Very nice. I usually go to the Plateau location on Saint-Laurent or the Mile-End location on Casgrain. I want every God damn thing in this shoppe right now. m0851 is what every other atelier and boutique strives to be. This is quality at an excellent price. Serene, beautiful and ethical quality. Everything is conceived, designed, crafted and produced right here in Montréal. They use only the top quality raw materials in all of their items. If you buy a leather jacket or bag or wallet here ... you're buying something that will last for many many decades of not a lifetime. Your jacket or purse will become family heirlooms for your grandchildren to brag about. Grandma gave me this cool vintage jacket that she bought at m0851 back in the day! That was like fifty years ago ... back in 2015! What?!?! So old-tymie. Seriously, everything here is made to last. I cannot stress this enough. Take a look around the store. Fall in love. great stuff great quality the products look good and are very fashion current. I have been looking for a wallet without breaking the bank and found just the right thing from over 20 to choose from. The staff was helpful without being pushy and we shopped for a long time. Great colors and found so many things I wanted and a few that I needed. Classy and fun products and appeal. Prices for what you get are very reasonable. My wallet by the way was $75.00 . I saw one that was not as nice in a local shop for $225.00 Jackets, bags and totes were stylish and well made. It's a high-end shop but compared to the run-of-the-mill designer offerings they are a high-quality product for the money. I purchased a lovely purse; the tag was priced wrong but the clerk honored the original price, albeit awkwardly. I was surprised to find the receipt says no refunds, exchange only within 7 days, that is strict! read more

I purchased a bag from one of the Toronto stores last April. It cost 385.00. Within three months, the zipper had broken. I live in California, so called their New York store, who told me to send the bag to them, they would send it to Montreal, have it repaired, and send it back to me. So I sent it to them at my own expense. After two months, the bag came back to me. Not a thing had been done to it, it was still broken, and it was filthy. I called the New York store. They told me to send it back yet again. Since I was going to be in Montreal anyway, I said I would just bring it in. I brought it to the location on Boul. St. Laurent. Living in the U.S. I am accustomed to excellent customer service. Since the bag had already been sent back once, and not repaired, I asked the store manager if she could just give me a new bag (at this point, I had already spent a lot of time and effort on this bag.) She said she doubted it, but would make some phone calls. After several calls to headquarters, she informed me that could not be done, that the only store policy would be to give the bag back yet again, and this time, hopefully, they would repair it properly. When I asked if she could make sure it was clean upon return, she looked at me very skeptically, but said, OK. Honestly, if this had been any store in the U.S. the bag would have been exchanged for a new one, no questions asked. I have never spent so much money on a purse, and I truly regret it. I am so disappointed with the customer service. If you are ever tempted to go into one of these stores in the U.S. or Canada, please go somewhere else. You can get a nicer bag of better quality for less money, and certainly with more responsive customer service. This bag has been nothing but a huge hassle and disappointment. Also, be aware that if anything ever goes wrong with your bag, it must be shipped back to Montreal, and in my case, anyway, after two months it will come back with nothing changed. I am now waiting, yet again, for the bag to come back to me. And honestly, I am not hopeful that it will be fixed (even though the store manage promised me she would check it personally.) The bags are nice, true. But not worth the hassle or the terrible customer service (and bad quality, in my case.) After I purchased the bag, and friend in Toronto told me the company is known for bad zippers, and bad customer service. Too late for me, unfortunately. read more
