Wonderful small hotel in the middle of everything you'll probably want to see in Porto. It's in a restored 16th century building, and retains many of the period details yet has every modern convenience. The staff are wonderful. Helpful and pleasant, they made my stay special.
My top floor room was huge by European standards, and had gorgeous wood floors and comfortable period furniture. The bed was great, as were the linens. I had a beautiful view of the cathedral up on the hill.
The rain shower was great, but if your afraid of slick, wet marble under foot, use the mat they provide. They had Molton Brown toiletries, a great touch.
Breakfast was great. You tell the front desk what you want the night before and they have it ready for you at a specified time. Everything was fresh and delicious. The coffee was awesome. Breakfast is served at a ten-seat communal table in a very pretty and somewhat formal room off the lobby. Definitely ask for the fresh orange juice, which is sourced from southern Portugal.
I highly recommend this terrific little hotel. I would happily return. read more
