love this salon. It provides a friendly and welcoming environment (and a great view!) and I always receive the best service. I have a lot of hair which is always in a state when I arrive there and is notably transformed by the staff at M Harvey Hair. The stylists support each other and due to the small and intimate boutique style of the salon you feel you are given a real personal and unique experience. I relax, drink tea, read high quality magazines and have a good chat when I go and that is in addition to receiving the best hair cut. If I could I would visit weekly I would and I recommend this salon to all my friends. My boyfriend has even been and he is scared of the hairdressers but was tempted due to the small and relaxed nature I had told him about, now he is never going to look back. Been going to Mark just over 5 yrs now would not go to any other hairdresser the salon is lovely and looks over the Quay you are treated like a friend ,not just another number and next and left at basins or in the chair for ages whilst the hairdresser does someone else they have squeezed in!!! I moved from the Midlands so finding a hairdresser was like going to the Dentist Ewwww but then i found Mark & never looked back i look forward to going its like meeting with a friend for a coffee and a chat but get hair done too Everyone in the salon are friendly its like a little family and really is a lovely salon i like that you dont have the big glass front window so you feel like you are sat in a fish bowl everyone looking at you. I've been going to Mark at M Harvey for a while now, and I can only say he's superb. I'd recommend him highly. Since going to Mark, I've had frequent compliments about my hair, and that is all thanks to the quality of the cut that he does, which not only looks good at the time of the cut, but it also stays true to the cut in the weeks and months after too, and is very easy to maintain. I don't care too much for the disgusting bright pink cherubs that are painted on the ceiling, but as I get to leave them behind in the salon and take my fantastically cut hair with me, I'll live with that. Martin used to cut my hair years ago at The Hair Emporium and then a few years ago I was delighted to discover him back as M Harvey. The salon has a lovely peaceful ambience to it and is beautifully situated on Exeter's historic Quay. I have curly/frizzy hair and Martin is the only hairdresser who really knows how to cut it. He has helped me persevere with growing out the layers over the past 4 years and when I have felt like giving up he is always there to offer professional, friendly but honest advice. They say your hair is your crowning glory and 'they' must be right because there is nothing worse than a bad-hair-day. I discovered Martin and M Harvey many years ago and what a great discovery. Since then my hair has looked just as I want - yes it is my crowning glory. Martin listens to my suggestions, takes time to talk through what will and might not work and then does a most professional job. It seems that nothing is too much trouble, Martin and his staff go out of their way to find me an appointment that suits even when I leave things too late and am asking for what for too many salons would just be a no. I have had my hair cut by Martin for many, many years. He has seen me through my partying time, pregnancy and wedding. So when it was time to go short there was no one else to to trust. We had talked about this on various occasions and whilst I didn't really know what I wanted, Martin clearly knew what I needed. I am a regular client at M Harvey. Mark has been cutting my hair for 4 years and I will never trust anyone else in Exeter. I've been let down too many times in the past. About a year ago I went somewhere a little closer to home, I hated it and needed to go to Mark to put it right again. Mark said it was level and balanced but to me it felt terrible. I've been going to Mark for a number of years now since randomly being 'assigned' him when my previous hairdresser left. In all that time I have always been very happy with every haircut he has done. I took my daughter Ellie to have her hair cut and styled by Mark last month. What a lovely heart warming experience, Ellie has curly hair with a mind of it's own and we wanted to know how to style it so she could wear it down with confidence WOW we were not disappointed , Mark has so much knowledge and showed so much enthusiasm. Mark cut my hair. It was £47 but woth every penny and more. A truley proffesional hair cut. I was offerd leanne at£25 which I thought was good to have the option of a more budget price too. I think what stood out to me was how easy it was to comunicate with him and how I felt so at ease. This made it simple to explain the look I was going for.
