We were in town for a soccer tournament and needed to grab something quick, but not fast food. It was a Sunday and weirdly enough, every place we tried was closed. Every one. Like 6 places. I would not plan on too many restaurant options on Sundays in Charleston. So we called M and M and they were open! So we headed over. Now these are not cheap sandwiches. However, there had to be at least a pound of meat on each sandwich. They use Boar's Head meat and cheese and Pepperidge Farms bread. All of our sandwiches were delicious. Half of the sandwich was perfect for lunch. The other was perfect for a late snack. We grabbed drinks and chips on the convenience store side. They saved us on this blustery cold Sunday and it was delicious. read more

M & M is a gem of a bodega (that's a convenience store, my fellow West Virginians), with all the standard items - snack foods, soft drinks, etc. - and a very good beer selection. Lots of crafts and lots of American Macro lager, in all sizes. That is to say, they sell singles, sixes, cases and kegs. M & M also has a nice little deli with a solid selection of Boar's Head meats and cheeses, which is as good as it gets in the Capital City. M & M. Go there. read more

Absolutely by far the best deli sandwiches in Charleston. Probably the county, probably the state. One half of a sandwich is a full meal. Always fresh ingredients, great selections of bread. My wife and I also like the potato salad as well. As an extra bonus, M&M has one of the best beer selections around. The beers are in the cooler, you cannot drink them there. The Sandwiches are Great when you can get someone to make one for you. It all Depends on who is working. They have some really good employees and some pretty bad ones. Yesterday I walked in and stood at the Deli counter to order a Sandwich. The guy behind the counter was doing something after i stood there for 2 minutes he finally turned around and saw me. He didnt say a word to me and turned back around and didnt say a word. I stood there for another minute then left. If you cant even say "Ill be with you in a minute" or "How are you?" To Greet a customer then they need to train or retrain their Employees. They have good Meats and Cheese and its pretty hard to make a bad sandwich if you have good ingredients. If they would weed out the bad customer service this place could be 5 stars. read more

If you like a STACKED deli-style sandwich, M&M Mart is the place to go. Good variety of fresh Boar's Head meats available on a variety of breads. Usual condiments and accompaniments. Pick up chips and drinks in the store, but you may not need them - the sandwiches are HUGE.
