From 11pm they ask you to get in for the neighborhood and then... you'll stink when going out, not talking the good effect of tobacco on your health! Our AirBnB host recommended this spot as a gay bar that plays good music. Indeed it does! Came here on a Tuesday for girls (we girls) and after ordering drinks immediately struck up a convo with some close-by Berliner law students. These were the first people we talked to on our entire euro vacation other than eachother (6 days in) and it was welcomed conversation. The bar is well decorated-very kitschy-and the bartenders were kind to us non-German-speaking folk. Overall, good spot to come through. It's local and fun. read more

This place is really not for everyone. You like it or you don't. It's always packed with people, and they have horrible beers-well, maybe they've got something else but you get so annoyed of the crowded atmosphere (especially at the bar) that you rather buy the cheapest fastest thing they have. This is a great bar that slants more towards gay, but definitely more of the divey yet completely casual and comfortable, open with high ceilings, and some of the cheapest drink prices I've encountered. A pint of beer from draft at 2.50 - 3 €...oh my stars. yes! Thursday night is the busiest night, but personally I do not see the point of trying to squeeze yourself into a sardine can where everyone is chain smoking. On Thursday nights, most people know each other and are meeting friends, but maybe you will meet someone new. It'll take you 15 minutes to walk 20 feet though. Friday nights etc are much more low key if you want to have a nice chat with friends or someone new. Recommended! (ps. I don't really understand the other trendy place berliners like to go- roses, which is too small to dance, or walk, or breathe clean air. Möbel Olfe is an excellent Berlin hangout. On weekends it can get rather full and stuffy, but don't let that scare you off. The drinks selection is limited but expertly crafted. One really sees that they put thought into their drinks selection. I did not notice this was indeed a gay bar, implying it's extremely welcoming and open. A good start or end to a night. read more

to say this place was awful would be understatement of the year. the staff is hostile to foreigners and we got screamed at for taking pictures inside the bar. the beers on tap were equivalent to bud light and the crowd was disgusting and aggressive. the only redeeming quality was the 60 year old DJ spinning funky tunes on vinyl. I went here with a friend to catch up. I thought the bar itself is nice and also a bit hidden, which I like. The prices are ok and the same as in many other bars in the area. The interior and flair is also the same as in many other bars/cafes in berlin, the common grandma-chic. I am generally not a big fan of the smoking-bars, so I found that a bit annoying and also the bartender was a bit rude. I think this place is ok, if you want to meet up somewhere and go elsewhere later, but if you plan on sticking around for a bit I would go somewhere else, as there are nicer options in the neighborhood. read more

This is a lovely place to congregate before heading out on the town. It is traditionally a gay/lesbian hangout and dates back some years - a mainstay of Kreuzberg. Roses is just up the road, another bar to try out. read more

This is my favourite Berlin bar due to the excellent selection of Polish beers and vodkas, as well as Mampe at good prices. It is normally always packed full and extremely smoky (unfortunately). I was on a date here once, and the other guy knew the bartender and he gave us shots of Mampe Halb & Halb which I quite enjoyed. read more

A hip bar, located inside a former furniture store, directly around the corner of the "Kottbusser Tor"-subway station. German and Polish beers on tap, the crowd a mixture between Kreuzberg hipsters and tourists. International DJ-sets all week, parties on the weekend. The bartenders are extremely hostile to non-Germans (read into that how you wish, hint hint). One of the bartenders (not the one who served me) decided that I shouldn't be there anymore, so she took my drink away midway through (I will note it was my first drink of the night, that I was alone at the bar, talking to no one, minding my business, when she abruptly snatched my drink away and threw down the Euros I paid for it...). When I asked the bartender who served me what happened, because I was stunned, she of course, all of a sudden could not speak English very well - said I was somehow rude in broken English? How I asked? She couldn't say.... I then asked the women next to me to translate with the these bartenders because I genuinely wanted to know if it was something I did, and the bartenders would not engage. Needless to say, I will not be returning and I will sure as hell warn anyone to stay away from this (racist) place! There are better places to drink anyway than this dingy dive bar filled with smoke. read more

The bartenders were very hostile, immature and aggressive! I couldn't believe how disgustingly horrible they treated us. I have a network of lesbians in Berlin and will definitely never recommend this spot to anyone here. always full, always hip gay bar with an also straight/female clientele. djs often playing all different kinds of music (from indie and rock djs to famous residents of berlins panorama bar). sometimes fun, sometimes too crowded to have fun. the regulars can be a bit bitchy with new people, but overall a nice spot. read more
