Well, they're Laguiole, and they have them here on the cheap and you can buy them in sets or individually. Or with the colored handles. Or with the marble handles. Or the cheese knife. Or the smaller cheese knife. How about a whisk? How about a bigger whisk? How about a smaller whisk? Ramekins? White? Colored? A little bigger or smaller? You can find something you totally need, or totally don't need, or something a friend might enjoy, and enjoy doing the shopping at the same time. They packed up my purchases, and knives, securely in paper, and they fit nicely in my suitcase. I think about Paris whenever I open my cabinets now and can't wait to stop by the next time I'm in the Marais. I love this neighborhoody dishery/platery!!!

There are all these little cute binders, notebooks, pins, pens, desk lamps. Although a small store, I could have spent at least 30-45 min in there just perusing their goods. I ended up getting a beautiful journal with a "pen band" to hold the pens I would use with the journal. I also got a rotating calendar that shows the fruits and vegetables that are in season at the time. There was a beautiful desk lamp in the shape of a book that turns on when you open it and turns off when it's closed. So beautiful. Their products remind me of similar things you might find in a Japanese stationery store. You want to know what the best part was? They gave us a reusable bag after our purchase to carry our items!

From the owner: Agnès Emery was born in 1943 into a family of Belgian craftsmen. She became an architect and a…read morepainter. Colours are her favorite playground. Inspired by Art Nouveau interiors she had worked on in Brussels, she started creating decorations for restaurants and, when she couldn't find the materials she needed, had them made for her. In 1993, she started selling tiles and paints in a small shop in Brussels. A disciple of William Morris, she designs everything herself, travelling widely to source the best materials and craftsmen. Her tiles and wrought iron work are made in Morocco, rugs are hand knotted in Nepal, glass tiles and stones are cut in India, paints are from Belgium, textiles from Europe... In Brussels, Agnès has opened a workshop where her designs are hand printed bespoke onto wallpaper and fabrics. Lately, she started an atelier to paint by hand on tiles, and in January 2012 Emery & Cie moved its major showroom to the canal bank of Brussels, a former building by Victor Horta.
