For what it is I give them kudos for atleast having a motel in the town of Lytton. It did the trick for what we needed it for.

Rustic but very eclectic and I'm not sure if it's on purpose. Very clean and all the rooms have their own unique layout...so original! We loved it! When we initially booked, we were immediately offered a spaghetti dinner for our team and their families at a very reasonable price. Then the day before we got there our game time had been changed to a later time and we wouldn't be able to make it to the restaurant until 1/2 hour before they were scheduled to close; they stayed open for us! Did not rush us and made us all feel very welcome to be there. The food was delicious as well. I would recommend this hotel to everyone who happens to travel in the area. We received an excellent team price and I found this hotel a breath of fresh air compared to the chain, cookie-cutter hotels we usually use! Thank you to the staff for a great stay! They knew my name when I checked in and rendered it and greeted me each time I can in and out. The service was just great. I am so impressed with just that aspect and then the room it's self was spacious, sparkling clean and very comfy. The beds are huge a pillowy. Can't say enough good stuff about this place. If I ever happen to require accommodations in Lillooet no doubt this is where I will book my room. Also going forward this is where I will be putting up all my staff when we send them out here on jobs.

For the most AMAZING & STELLAR experiences on the Thompson River EVER, the Kumsheen River Resort is…read morethe MUST DO place to stay. This property offers 'glamping' services (vs camping) that include options to sleep by the river in a teepee!!! I opted for the latter & thanks to Mareike she helped make my DREAMS come TRUE. I highly recommend Teepee #4 because it sits on the perimeter of the property overlooking the Thompson. It comes with two twin & one double bed (enough for a family of four) along with enough comforters, linens & towels for ALL. Kumsheen thought of EVERYTHING for their guests. There were baskets of amenities including star charts, lighters for candles (not included so don't forget to bring some) solar powered lanterns, shampoo, soap & ear plugs!!! The CN Traintracks are directly below the property but after a tiring day on the river (along with proper insertion of your ear plugs) the sound becomes almost lulling. If you didn't have time or in my case the resources to bring your own food (I flew in from Southern California), Kumsheen's Chefs will not disappoint. Special shoutout to breakfast cook, Terry who made my stay EXCEPTIONAL with the French Toast & fresh fruit cup. Btw - No need for syrup on these bad boys because Terry whips it up like a breakfast Strawberry Shortcake complete with whip cream. He literally picks the mint FRESH from the garden next to the kitchen to muddle into a simple syrup for the fruit cup. I was so addicted to it by the end of the trip, I was begging for the recipe. The hospitality at Kumsheen is only surpassed by it's grounds. This property boasts a pool, jacuzzi, volleyball courts, disc golf, life size chess set & 5-star restaurant!!!! It truly was a bit of heaven on earth. Thank you Kumsheen for keeping me warm & safe my first trip out to BC... I will most definitely be back!!!!

I booked…read morefor four days and was told that everything had to be paid 100% up front instead of holding my booking with my credit card which I thought was odd but I booked it anyways. We stayed in a tepee the first night which was nice, as you fall asleep you can stargaze out of the roof which is nice. There was an outdoor dishwashing station outside our tepees which was nice. There were outhouses and they were clean and didn't smell bad. We then transferred to a yurt cabin for the remaining three days and we got a nice view. We were wondering why they put ear plugs in our room until the train came by in the middle of the night several times and freaked us right out because it's so loud and sudden that it wakes you from a dead sleep leaving you freaked out thinking its going to run your cabin down. The view of the Thompson River is spectacular and we saw long horned sheep hopping all over the mountain side. They advertised on the website that they have a hot tub but the jets weren't working. I was told on the phone that the restaurant is fine dining. The food was decent but it's not fine dining tho. They have hot shower facilities which is nice. We decided to book a full day of river rafting on the motorized boat over the paddle boat. The guides were awesome! It's only $179 and well worth your money. You stop half way down the river and they feed you a fresh all you can eat lunch and it was good. Well worth the money for the trip. We had some loud partiers beside us that kept us up until 4.30am and there was no help that we could find after the office closed at 8:00. We left messages and our 2nd night there was a train wreck for getting any sleep because of it. It's a family run business and I met the wife and she was very kind and courteous. They have volleyball, huge checkers and chess outside, horse shoes and more. The campsite is maintained for the most part and I would repeat and stay there and go river rafting again. I gave my hotel my credit card and charged the cabins, rafting etc and you also have to pre-pay for your dinner and breakfast in advance but then when I went to order drinks at the pool bar or restaurant they wouldn't let me charge it on my card like I did the rest of the stuff which is odd. They advertise they have a pool bar but it was only open two of the weekend days I was there and didn't open till 4:00 but theirs signs saying you can't bring drinks to the pool but I don't know how you're supposed to quench your thirst if the bar isn't open. The scenery is so beautiful and overall our group really enjoyed ourselves a lot and would love to repeat again. I highly recommend it.

Hot tub not really that hot - warm at best even with the jets turned on (but only the feet jets turned on, the back jets didn't work for some reason). The pool was small but not too cold. Breakfast was basic - scrambled eggs, sausages, waffle maker, boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, fruits, muffins, coffee/tea/hot cocoa. However note that it doesn't open until 7am on weekends which caused us to delay our departure. Toiletries available (shampoo/conditioner/soap/makeup remover/shower cap) and toothbrush/paste available at the front desk. Walked to Game On next door for dinner, close and convenient. We came directly from the Abbotsford airshow and were hot, tired, and cranky. Being greeted in such a friendly way really helped turn my mood around. We checked in, showered and then immediately hit the pool and hot tub. The pool area was clean and well maintained. There were plenty of clean towels available and although there were a few other families in there, it didn't feel crowded. There is a fancy coffee maker in the lobby, as well as an assortment of teas. I thought this was a really nice touch. Also, in our room was a nespresso machine! I was impressed. Across the street there is an Esso station with a "travel centre" which includes a LARGE convenience store, Burger King, and a Pizza Hut. Also in the same parking lot as the hotel is a Mr. Mikes, and right on the other side is a Boston Pizza - so there are lots of options for food! Rooms include a free FULL breakfast, not just continental. It included waffles, pancakes, bacon, sausage, various breads, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, hashbrowns, yogurt, cereal etc. There was plenty of variety and the buffet line stayed stocked well. Check out was smooth and they actually proactively asked me how the stay was. Now here's the kicker..... a few hours after we checked out, I received a call from the front desk. When we left, I had left some ice packs on the counter. I meant to through them out, but it slipped my mind. they called to ask if I needed them. I really appreciated the call and thanked them, but asked if they could just toss them for me. Oh.... I almost forgot! When booking, I had the option for a double queen room, or a double queen with a balcony for the same price. So I booked the balcony cause I love sitting outside in the evening, and the balcony was HUGE! There's a few rooms with balconies, and they're not all as large as ours was, but ours was MASSIVE. I would definitely recommend this hotel and we'll be staying here again in the future!

We had a kitchenette and it was stocked with a 2 burner hot plate, fridge, freezer, pots and pans, toaster, microwave, cutlery and cooking utensils/spatulas, bowls, plates, glasses, mugs, detergent, sponge, and dishcloths. The toiletries could be a big bigger as it was not enough for both of us for 3 nights. Breakfast was decent. No more waffle maker but there was a 1 minute pancake machine that worked pretty well. Also fruit, boiled eggs, variety of breads, cereal, milk alternatives, granola, yogurt, egg bites/mini omelettes/sausage/hashbrown. And of course coffee, water, juice, tea. Some reviews said there was banana bread and other baked goods but I didn't notice it other than the muffins. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the BW and hope to be back soon, although the prices are consistently higher than other hotels in the area.

It was during busy season and we decided to go with Canadas Best Value Inn. As expected from a two star motel/inn place, we didn't have any expectations when we checked in. The check in process was quick and painless, we were given our keys in under 15 minutes. The room itself was tidy (note that tidy doesn't necessarily mean clean). The bed was made, everything was in the right place. They could give this place an update as well as a deep clean. I can see they moved the bed out from the wall which it was originally designed to be, but they didn't bother taking out the wall lamp that was there, or patch up the dry wall where the headboard once sat. Overall the room sort of gives off an East Vancouver illegal rental basement suite vibe that you'd find on Craigslist. Despite the questionable decor choices, all the appliances work in our room, and we are overall satisfied with our stay given the price and the location. Just don't shine a black light on anything in the room!

Reading more reviews now going back 2 yrs, the same issue has NOT been fixed even tho they say they will. Owners seem to blow smoke to save face. Dropped our bags in room and spent 10 min on computer but noticed the pipes creaking due to weather most likely. It was very noticeable but figured we could put some music on and drown it out. No luck so we went for dinner hoping it would settle but when we came back it was still going. Went back to office and asked about switching rooms in which I was told it's just an old building and all the rooms are like that. I requested a look anyways and sure enough it was quiet and would suffice. I got quite the attitude as she stormed across parking lot mumbling her incredible displeasure. Not sure if it was because I got her off the couch watching tv but she said thanks as now she would have the cleaning fee taken out of her pay. If the owner did that, that would be an issue. Not her fault they haven't been fixed. All I did was sit in a chair at the table beside the front door so nothing was disturbed. I told her I didn't appreciate her attitude so as she steams back in front of her tv, I will now have a good nights rest. I've been working 19 hr days the last 2 weeks and if I can go to bed early and sleep well, her attitude will not let me loose sleep. New room had layers of dust and chunks of bunnies on the thermostat on wall. I blew off the actual chunks. Lights between beds didn't turn on so I moved stand to find used ear plugs and garbage. Missing light bulbs over sink and in washroom but still adequate light. Beds looked clean and comfy and room will suffice but you get what you pay for I'd stay again in a pinch. Just not room 101. 107 was quieter.

I might have given this place 3 stars maybe but for the really dirty bathroom floor (you should not walk out of the bathroom and have dirtier feet than when you walked in) and the piece of dried fruit left under the bed. Seriously??? Is this "leaving a piece of dried fruit under the bed" one of the amenities of this chain?? We found what used to be (we think) an orange under the bed here, which was different from the green dried fruit we found under the bed in this chain's Langley location. Two nights in a row, two CBVIs, and TWO desiccated fruit carcasses under the bed? Was I on candid camera or something?? Why is no one cleaning these places????
