I have always been delighted with the care and compassion that my pets have received during their lives made longer by the care they received. I especially am grateful now, when I don't drive, to be able to have the Doctor come to the house. That makes such a difference for me. I have a rather dramatic dhihuahua/ug mix and am so impressed by Dr. Schrader's patience with him. I definitely recommend this clinic.

However, if your pet for any reason might need medication, I would strongly recommend against choosing Prairie Vista. For the past week and a half we have been requesting a medication refill only to be ignored by the pharmacy at PV. In fact, when you call PV, you are required to leave a message rather than getting to speak with a pharmacist. After almost 2 weeks of being extremely cordial and respectful during phone calls, I finally called PV and felt forced to leave a rather demanding voicemail - this was when someone FINALLY called me back after 5+ phone calls cumulatively between my husband and myself. When I requested the medication be transferred to a new veterinarian, they did not get it done the same day. The following day, when their vet technician was in, the wrong information was sent to our new vet over 4+ times before being done correctly (to no fault of the vet technician, as I assume she was being forced to do this work all alone.) All in all, we are literally being forced to switch vets due to PV lack of communication and responsibility. So, if your pets might need regular medication, this is going to have to be a no go.

Our 13 year old Diesel boy recently had a tumor that was cancerous on this throat and had surgery to remove it. Then he was able to start chemo treatments in which each week we had to come here to get his blood work done before the chemo each week. They also did his removal surgery! Thru the entire process, even before his run in with the big C word, they love and care for Diesel and our other doggy Salem dearly! They put their everything into making sure they were on top of everything throughout the whole process and listen to your concerns while also considering what is best for our furry friends. Also did you know their doctor Clay helped develop the PRP treatments for arthritis that we get every couple months and this last time we went in, I jokingly asked if they could shave a heart where they have to shave him since it takes so long for his hair to grow back, so we picked him up today and he has heart shaped booty cheeks and we are liviiiiiiing for it!!! I had a Yorkshire terrier that like to bite all the veterinarians I took him in to let Darren look at him and before I could tell Darren he was a biter Darren was already in inspecting his teeth and throat and ears and Bentley didn't have a problem with it. That sold me on the quality of vet he was. If my little Yorkshire could trust him I had to. I just stood there in amazement until the visit was over.
