When Sunday came, we knew we had to take the hard step to have her put down. We called Animal Medical Center because they could also cremate her. Since it was a Sunday, we met Dr. Ashley at the office. She had never met us or our dog, but she told us with one look at her that "She is so tired." She was very efficient, loving to our dog and us, and explained everything that would happen. It happened very quickly, and we visited afterwards, only to find out that she had traveled quite a ways to meet us, and she showed no signs of disgruntlement. Thank you, Ashley. We will be back.

An absolute horrible Grooming experience! I took my two Maine coon cats to be groomed. When I…read morepicked them up, I took them out of their kennels and inspected them. They were matted and one had dried feces on his bottom. I requested that they be brushed and cleaned! I told them there was no way that these cats had been brushed! They were taken back and I was told that they used the ferminator this time. Then they told me that one of my cats had three cuts that were from brushing them. I requested to see the cuts. The cuts were not made from a brush! I'm a nurse of 35 years and I have had these cats groomed every five weeks for years, they have never received cuts from a brush. They had to glue 2 of the cuts together to keep them from getting infected. I paid $68 per cat to be bathed and combed, and this is what I paid for. Please do not take your precious pets to be groomed by this horrific facility! Very sweet people, just extremely negligent! I know nothing about their veterinarian services, but as far as Grooming, it is awful!

The store is bright, friendly, and immaculately clean. There's a picture window into the grooming area, where you can watch groomers pampering dogs in specialized baths. There's nothing kennel-like about the Soggy Dog Salon. Today, I accompanied my grandmother, picking up her lapdog after a four-hour engagement. I saw three other small dogs emerge from their grooming, happy and energetic. As we left, Diane, the co-owner, greeted my grandmother and her dog by name. My grandmother's little lhasa apso was trimmed, happy, and wearing a cute neck scarf. (These scarves are a trademark of the Soggy Dog Salon--take a look at the photos on the site to see what I mean. http://soggydogsalon.com/ These scarves vary by season and holiday, with special scarves for Halloween, Christmas, etc.) What a delightful business! I appreciate how they encourage their clients to adopt pets from the animal shelter. I'm amazed that Salina is large enough to support such a place. If I had a small dog, I would certainly schedule appointments here. Incidentally, appointments are recommended. They and well worth the cost, considering that regular visits every 8 weeks might amount to only $5 a week.

Dr. Hayek just didn't seem to care about my pets. I was searching desperately for answers as to why my dog was limping, had severe diarrhea, and had lost two-thirds of her body weight. As my dog was rapidly deteriorating, I was hopeful she could help us, but she said she could live with it or it would resolve on its own. She seemed annoyed that I wasn't satisfied and I continued to bring my dog in. I finally went to another vet who did care. But even then, she declined to give me my dogs records, saying that they were an additional cost. At the end of each appt., I always paid my entire bill. When I left, I ensured my balance was zero. Three months later, I got a "new" bill with finance charges. I asked the office manager what happened and she said they simply forgot to bill me, but remembered three months later. I was surprised to see Dr. Hayek had written rude comments about me as an owner on my dogs records. I just wanted to save my dog. I guess we had different agendas. Just go elsewhere and save yourself - and your beloved pet - a lot of trouble.

Our puppy was having a very hard time and out of the 8 vets in the area I called to have him looked at Hoisington was only one who called back promptly and was eager to help our puppy. After arriving, Erick and Dr. Lyndsey went out of their way to make us and the puppy feel comfortable and get our puppy taken care of. You could tell they genuinely cared about Bobby and were going to do everything possible for him. They were more than willing to accommodate us and give us different options for care since we were in the middle of a cross country area and knew no one in the area. Erick was incredible over night and the next morning texting and calling us with updates for our little guy. Also making sure our puppy had a nice stuffed animal friend to spend the night with! Even after we picked up our little pup to continue the trip when we was feeling better, Erick was more than helpful answering our question we had about the medicine we had to administer. I feel so fortunate to have found these incredible people who were able to help our puppy get back on the up and up! Thank you so much!!!
