We have just returned from staying here for the weekend. It was a family holiday as myself, my husband, my 4 year old son and my parents all went together. We all stayed in Chalets, my parents had a standard 4 berth chalet - it was absolutley tiny! They had 2 single beds which did not seem to be full size singles with springs sticking out so they stopped on the sofa bed which was very hard. There was a very small kitchen which was filthy and in desperate need of modernisation. Myself, my husband and my son stayed in a Large 6 Berth chalet. This was very spacious and quite clean, we had 2 bedrooms each with a double bed and a single in. Both chalets had electric meters in and I was shocked to discover that we had to buy a £5 card even though we were only staying for the weekend (there was about £3 left on the meter when we came home). The site is obviously well used and quite clean although there is broken glass in most of the public outside areas. We did not eat out on the site so can not comment on the food. The beach is only a short walk away. The baby Leos area was lovely and it was clean but there were no chairs for adults to sit and the two drinks machines were both out of order. The swimming pool area was really lovely and it was very clean as were the changing rooms. My son absolutely loved the pool and the animals in it. There is a very well stocked shop on the site and the prices aren't bad. The staff seem friendly and helpful and overall we had a nice weekend (my parents spent most of their time at our Chalet) read more

Lyons Robin Hood, use to be two seperate businesses but now merged and trade as one site. The site is level, making it an ideal location for anyone less able. The site has both caravans and chalets to let, for anything from short breaks to week long holidays or even buy your own caravan. The site has full entertainment from bingo, to cabarets, to childrens entertainment. The site itself is just on the outskirts of rhyl, but is on the main bus route. The site has indoor swimming pool, which can get busy when the typical british weather occurs. Highly recommend this site to anyone whether, your a family, with or without children, or an older couple looking for a break. read more

I have been coming here since I was a baby,it used to be two separate parks, next door to each other lyons and robinhood,we stayed on lyons when I was little and this was the cheaper of the two camps, but we used to go across to robinhood to use there swings/arcade and club ,its got everything you could possible want now that it is one,as lyons had a swimming pool, there is excellent resturants and take-away ,and the evening entertainment is still as good as it was then, this really is a holiday camp that I can vouch for,ive been here loads of times, and never had a bad holiday, its only a short walk into rhyl center,if you want to go shopping, the funfair or go clubbing read more

The food there was brill! We will definitely be going back there again! read more

I couldn't give this place a low enough rating for the level of stress and unhappiness they caused me over the previous 24 hour. Me and four friends booked in at this place about 4 months before the arrival date (1/4/2013) and everything went smoothly. About 2 months before the 'holiday' we started to get concerned about the park rejecting us when we got there with us being a same sex party. To try and sort this out I thoroughly checked the Lyons Robin Hood website to see if I could find any rules on same sex parties visiting the park. I couldn't find anything at all. To double check I gave the park a phone call to ask them if there was any problems with us going there or if there was a problem with the booking to which I specifically remember a lady telling me that there she can't see any problems here and that we should be fine and finally that she looks forward to seeing us. She couldn't have been more wrong! After thinking that everything was fine and that we wouldn't have any problems on arrival we decided to book a coach to get to the park which cost £60. The day of the holiday came and we got on the coach which took us straight to Rhyl. We then paid for a taxi to take us to the park. All was going good so far, until we arrived. We got to main reception at 18:30 which was supposedly on time until we found the main reception to be closed early. We then had to ask our way around the poorly-signposted park in an attempt to find someone that could help us check in. We finally got told by someone to speak to the hotel security who were in the bar getting drunk. Over came a man who just happened to be the most rude and impudent man I have come across in a long while. We then politely explained to him that reception was shut so could he check us in. He looked us up and down and rudely said no chance, we don't make bookings like this. Get out and you can have a refund in the morning (waving our booking conformation form around) clearly. We tried to explain to him that we had called before-hand to check if it was ok. He might as well have been a brick wall because every time we tried to explain something he just impudently interrupted us with his favourite phrase no chance. We finally agreed that somehow we were in the wrong and proceeded, unaware as to where we were going to sleep that night, out of the park and sat on our bags, clueless. We then thought that we could ask for a refund tonight so maybe we could find a bed and breakfast so we walked back in to the 'working' staff and asked the 'no chance man' if we could have a refund tonight so that we could find somewhere to sleep for the night. He then, what looked like to us, smirked and said no chance, get one tomorrow when reception is open. We agreed and pondered what we were going to do the following night. We decided that we would carry our 25kg bags down the really long road in the freezing cold in an effort to find somewhere to sleep or eat for the night. The man from the park couldn't of give a damn what happened me and my friends the following night. When our hands were purple after half an hour of walking we came across a nice little bed and breakfast where we decided to stay. The people who owned this place changed my opinion on Welsh people. Turns out some of them do have manners. After a lovely stay in the 'Westminster Hotel Rhyl' we decided that we would have to go home because we had spent all of our remaining spending money on a night in this hotel. Baring in mind we didn't have much spending money because we had already purchased 'accommodation' and food before-hand. We were now 'skint' basically. Firsly I called Lyons Robin Hood in an attempt to get a refund, the woman said that she will ring me back. 12 hours later and still no sign on a call back. I then called National Express and had to pay a £15 fee to change the date of the coach to 2/4/1013. They said they can but the only coach they have today is one in Chester. The only do-able option we had was to travel to Chester by train and to catch the bus from there back to home. We then had to pay £40 for train tickets to Chester. Things went even more wrong after this but I wont go in to detail because this is a review for Lyons Robin Hood, after all. Even if I do get a refund, I think I deserve travel costs as well as they are in the wrong and now I have no money at all and am really gutted that what was supposed to be a little 'fun holiday' with some friends turned out this way. My point being we spent about £100 on travelling around Rhyl, a place that I have never visited and had to clue how to get around, because of Lyons Robin Hood. I have paid quite a lot of money for misery. I don't even know why I chose this place after reading some of the disgusting reviews about the state of the caravans. The only mistake I have made was booking in here. In conclusion, never visit this place. read more

on arrival at the robin hood camp we were a bit confused at how to drive in! there are lanes in the road but no signs by the camp that i could see. any hoo when we did eventually arrive outside reception we booked in and noticed that the passes for the camp for 2 adults and 2 kids was £30 for 2 nights. i was right miffed as i thought it would be about £10. but as it turned out there were good points and bad point about the cost. as usual you had to walk through the arcade into the family room.which was fairly full and plenty noisy.the kids shows were very good and of course there was bingo.the group on friday night were excellent and were worth the pass fee alone.they were called spiesand the drummer was brilliant.the chippy was a joke later as the people serving were snowed under with orders and when we got there one lad was buying the whole chippy so we did with banger butties in the van.we went to the pool on sat afternoon and was reminded of the nanny state gone mad.there are 2 pools and the kids one was at the end away from the spectators seats and anyway unless you were actually in the pool with your kids then they were not allowed in. on sat night the forester pub was closed to kids due to frank carson being on.there was a few "parents "walking round a bit worse for wear after the mufc/man city game indeed one woman thought i was the security and she ranted on about "too many old farts and too many kids and anyway j2o was too expensive"yea but,no but,.all told of course these camps are for the kids and that it did excacly what it said on the tin.if i go again i would probably not bother with the club and passes. read more

I stayed on Lyons Robin Hood site for a weeks break not so long ago. The site itself is very clean, quiet in most places and has most of the facilities needed on site. There was an arcade, launderette, chippy, shop, American style cafe, swimming pool and family club. Although we found that the chippy wasn't open most of the time, the shop was open till around tea time and we could order from takeaways that would deliver to site. Unfortunately we found that the site was quite a walking distance away from Rhyl centre and beach but we were able to get a bus or taxi quite easily. Buses stop outside of the site regularly and run into Rhyl centre and beach front. Due to not having much else around the site we did get fairly bored after a few days and found ourselves spending most of our time in Rhyl centre. I'd say that apart from one or two facilities for the kids, this site is mainly for couples and the older generation that are after a peaceful, relaxing break. read more

We have recently got back from this caravan park and overall we enjoyed it and will be going back next year. Positives: Very spacious caravan with everything you'd need, very clean and tidy. All clean and fresh bedding. Brilliant entertainment at night for the kids, the Rangers get everyone involved (inc. adults!) Swimming pool on site is ok and best of all ,free! Theres a shop on site that is very cheap and well stocked. The staff we came across were very friendly. The beach is literally 2mins from the site and is a lovely spot. Negatives: I thought the on site bars/pub was very expensive. Bouncers on the doors were very rude and looked quite intimidating, and seem to enjoy walking round the family bar looking as hard as possible! next time we go, we will be taking some extra cookelry and extra pans. on-site entertainment for adults (after the childrens show) was abismal, karaoke singers!! but if your drunk enough you'll dance and sing to anything eh??? read more

We have just returned from a break at Lyons robin hood and it was really good. We stayed in a privately rented caravan which was great. The site has everything you need, swimming pool, aracade, chip shop, 3 bars, hairdressers, laundrette, outdoor play area and soft play area etc. The childrens entertainment was good during the day and the shows were fantastic. Really enjoyed the Disney performance. The only faults I found were that the swimming pool changing rooms are freezing and the food in Sherwoods bar isn't that good but there is an Asda and a Tesco not too far. Also nearby are golf course, bowling, beach, Rhyl suncentre, New Prestatyn retail park and also Rhyl town centre. Will be retuning soon as really enjoyed it and it's much better value than some of the bigger parks. read more

luckily we had booked a private caravan for our stay LILY she is beautiful and has all the mod cons to make our holiday comfortable, this camp is disgracefull! no seats in eating drinking areas , swimming pool and american diner didnt open once during our stay, Bingo (for grandma) was in a skip blocking the entrance to the shop, the on site chip shop sold green lardy chips...this aside the camp was clean and tidy, Rhl town centre is a mess too....certainly wouldnt spend may hard earned money going again! read more

I have just came back from this camp, the chalet was clean and tidy but beds were extremely uncomfortable, also while we were there the amenities were mostly closed, none of my party did not use the club as we do not drink ( and I am allergic to alcohol anyway ) we were very disappointed that the swimming pool was closed for the winter also half the machines in the amusements were constantly blocked in the coin slots, also while I was there I was talking to some neighbours in the same chalet block as myself and found out that they had paid £9.50p for a weeks holiday on this camp while I was charged £389.00 for a 14 night stay this i think is a little unfair considering that they had exactly the same accommodation as we did and were able to use the same amenities as we did, also at the same time I still had to pay for the electricity i was using, to say that this camp provides a great holiday is over exagerating, i think that due to the circumstances i deserve a refund of sorts as if i tally it all up correctly then £50 for the fortnight should be more than sufficient for the holiday we received the wi fi does not work either as there is not enough power to connect to it so on the whole the holiday was very dull apart from having to travel into rhyl nearly every day on well overpriced buses ( as we do not own a car ) I will NEVER be returning to this camp again. read more

Just come back from 4 days stay here, thank god not any longer! Arrived to find barrier not allowing cars in and no one answering phone to give us the entry code, so had to abandon car and walk to other side of park to reception (badly signposted) to check in. The chalet was dirty and extremely damp £5 was charged for linen which was clearly very old and used, so much so that you couldn't even button the duvet cover up! Bathroom was mouldy, carpet covered in stains, very little kitchen equipment supplied. The park itself was falsely advertised, website boasts about entertainment, pool hall etc. There was no entertainment during our whole stay, bingo hall was closed, there was one tennis court with one sad, broken net. The pool tables had no cues! There wasn't any employees around at all to enquire about pool cues or that one of the amusement machines swallowed my pound returning nothing! When coming to check out, reception wasn't open (fair enough we left at 6 o'clock!) but there wasn't a post box or anything for us to leave our keys (we left them in the open chalet) Rhyl itself was a dreary, rundown town offering nothing to do, anything we might have wanted to do was closed. Even the surrounding area offered nothing. Based on this experience we wouldn't return to Wales or use a Lyons holiday park ever again. read more

We booked here as a last minute getaway. We are 2 adults and 3 kids aged 7, 11, 15. Before we went, i read the reviews on here and wasnt expecting much, infact i didnt want to go at all. we are down to earth people who expect what we pay for but this was something else. When we arrived at the park i was quite surprised how large and impressive it looked and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. we found our 'chalet' easily enough but when we opened the door i immediatley wanted to leave. The stench coming from it was VILE like a mix of cat pee and damp. We went in and i was even more dissapointed, yes the place is quite large enough but i thought we had walked into the 1970's. the kitchen was very dated as was the bathroom with its avocado suite and 'council issue' loo seat. there was an offcut of the main carpet as a bath mat which was wet. erugh! the kitchen bin had rubbish and a wet fag end in (stank). there were crumbs, dust 'tumbleweed' and even rubbish on the carpets but no hoover or suchlike just a worn out broom and no dustpan. the sofa beds were stained and smelled of pee and some child obviously had a great time with the felt tips on the 'cushions'! beds were small, no mirror apart from the bathroom (hairdryer cant reach), table leg broken and propped up. curtains hanging off the rails and kitchen blind very satined. the bunk bed was very unstable and top bunk had its spindles replaced with plywood. after all this our kids wanted to stay (?)so We immediately went to the supermarket and brought some antibac wipes to clean up, thank god as obviously hadnt been done for a while. the outflow pipe outside overflowed whenever us or next door used water (my hubby unblocked this himself). there was a ciggy 'graveyard' outside our front door which we cleared away. i would also advise anybody staying there not to walk around in bare feet as after 10 mins your feet are BLACK! Apart from the room, the rest of the site was well managed, the staff lovely and even the doormen were fantastic. our kids didnt want to use the kids club so cant comment on that. the pool is errr, okish. the entertainment is not too bad and prices very reasonable. another drawback is that the site shop DOES NOT sell alcohol and most shops around are quite a walk and most shut at around 7.30PM, even the supermarkets. food on site is expensive and of poor quality so be prepared to cook or go off site like we did. all kids were well supervised but please watch your kids in the on site amusements as our one child had a few pounds pinched from older kidswas soon sorted with help of security but be careful! I could go on but i bore myself moaning! we will never go there again and neither will our friends who stayed over with their kids for a couple of nights. in fact we left early which isnt like us. if u want to go one stage up from camping and dont mind cleaning, broken furniture and fittings and black feet then please go but i wouldnt reccommend it. CANNOT COMMENT ON CARAVANS AS DIDNT STAY IN ONE. I HAVE PUT ONE STAR RATING FOR STAFF ONLY! read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME GOING TO THIS PARK IT IS ABSOLUTELY DISCUSTING!!! Arrived to check in at 3 o'clock to find all facilities closed except slots machines which were mainly jammed. Got the keys for the 6 birth large chalet which was tiny, headed to it in the car as it was miles away from the reception. On the way down the litter, dirty linen and smashed glass was everywhere meaning the small child we had with us, was not going to be able to walk and play anywhere. Building work was obviously going on, however the builders who were not there that day, had not secured the site, leaving bricks towered up which kids could easily try to climb, and the fences which should be securing it were lying against the play park which is extremly dangerous. As we got to the chalet (betsit), there was no parking leaving us to abandon our 2 new cars in the turning area of this very rough holiday park. When we got out of the cars we were greated by litter, dirty linen, and a JCB digger, digger the area next to us, how relaxing for a holiday. When we opened the chalets door we were aproached by a maintinence man who asked us not to touch the walls as they had just touch up the paint work. The chalet smelt, was dirty, run down and about 40 years out of date with the decor, and as for the beds just by sitting on them you nearly break the thin sheet of ply board it is made out of. We decided 30 minutes after entering the site we were not staying here unless they could offer us a cleaner living space, when leaving the chalet to head back to reception we spoke to the maintinence man again who agreed the chalet was not upto standard and had a good laugh at it. Once at reception we were told that for a basic caravan instead of the chalet we would have to pay an extra £50.00, and they were not helpful at all. We decided that this site is not fit for even a dog and spent our afternoon ringing round travel agents after deciding to leave. We found some fantastic accomendation else where in wales, and will never return to rhyl or lyons robin hood ever again or let anyone else we no have the same disapointment we had by going there. The 1 star rating was only given as it had to be, we personnal would rate it in the minuses. read more

I stayed with my husband and 3 children age 12, 10 and a 22 month old toddler, we rented a caravan privately which was very clean, the club passes were £35 for a family for a week and the family pass is for up to 8 people, however i wouldn't waste my money, there was nothing at all for toddlers to do, they advertise there soft play area which even in peak season is only open for maximum 4 hours 10 til 2 and if your like us and go out for the day exploring where your on holiday its not very good, the staff were not great and half the 'rangers' were more bothered about getting themselves ready to go out on the town. The outdoor play area was for older children so again no catering for younger children and my older son spent most of his time on this playground with friends he had made so my club passes were wasted, there is a big arcade and a snooker table and two pool tables, the pool tables are a pound a game, but the snooker table is a five pound deposit with no time limit you get your deposit back when you return the snooker balls, the arcade was filthy, the children activities were always being canceled and nothing was very well advertised. The chip shop, i would recommend you don't purchase chips from here as they were always half cooked, the pizza's were nice though, didn't try the American diner as it looks very uninviting and always empty and the staff sat around at the front of the store so it feels like your interrupting something. I would not recommend this campsite to people with young children, also it was full of scallys who's kids had really foul mouths and the parents just left them to there own devices, next time i go on a caravan holiday i will pay a bit extra in future. read more

I have just returned from Lyon's Robin Hood in Rhyl having been there with my family and also my friends family on a Sun Holiday. It was plainly obvious when we were given the keys to our bunkhouse that they don't have a high opinion of people who have booked through sun holiday's. The initial chalet we were given was unaccessable due to a pond outside the front door. When we did manage to get in to the chalet it was disgusting and in a totally unacceptable condition. You are also charged £2.50 per person for bed linen when you arrive if you have not previously arranged and also there is a refundable £10 charge for the remote control for the TV's which are in the chalet. When we returned to the reception to air our displeasure at the condition of the chalet we were told " Well it is only a sun holiday" although to be fair we were given a reasonable alternative chalet however this had bed bugs on the matresses which were noticed by my kids. The entertainment was absolutely non exisitent, there was nothing for teenagers to do other than spend their money on slot machines, the supermarket closed early and there was little or nothing on during the day. Their large function hall was closed for the duration of our Mon Frid holiday although we were advised that it would open on the Friday evening. NO GOOD TO US BORED CUSTOMERS who were going home. My guess is that the entertainment will improve immensely when the English Holidays start. I will never return to this Ghost Village and it does not come with any positive recommendations from either my family or that of my friends. read more

Arrived At Lyons Robin Hood 17th October was given a Chalet went to look at the Chalet it was absolutly disgusting and smelt. After going back to reception was given 2 further keys to look at 2 other chalets which both were dirty stained carpets sticky sweets all down the sofa as we booked the sun holiday we were told we could only have a chalet unless we were prepared to upgrade to a caravan at the cost of a extra £50. We decided to opt for 1 of the chalets even though neither of them was any good really old fashioned really basic tryed to light the fire would'nt come on gas man looked at it we ended up with no fire until the 3rd night considering we was only there for 4 nights replaced the fire with a new 1 so we had the fire for 1 day and night complained to reception really did'nt wanna know they though't that sending a gas man round for 2days was acceptable pushed for a caravan after all the problems we had but no way was they giving us 1. After speaking to a security man he told me that caravans are allocated to sun holidays but because it was towards end of season they did'nt wanna let 1 out manageress specificly said we do not let caravans out to sun holidays although i knew this was a lie. For the first 2 nights did'nt sleep was up itching all night which does'nt suprise me by the state of the chalets these chalets are really old and ancient and should be knocked down it was a horrible time there and never to return there again read more

I own a van on lyons robin hood, and i would not reccomend to anyone. Probably because we did not buy a brand new van the sales team and mangaement treat me and my family like dirt, if we complain or ask questions its just not responded to and if it is its with a grunt or a what do you want me todo about it. after sales service is nonexistant. we purchased our van and chose our plot specifically as it was no dogs, i dont object to dogs its irresponsible owners i object tp. my husband is also allergic, now they changed it with no consultation and i am forever icking up dog shit from my front area, when i complained they offerd to move my van, i dont wnat it moving i like my spot, they wasno consulatation what so ever regarding this. then they now have staeff from the park in the van next door, as they work late they are oftern noisy till 3am, and ithey cant shower without the window open, i get a viiew every day, not plesant. ithe sales team have no interest in my complaints and to be honest they are very imtimidating, Not a good park to buy on and they wont even let you sell your van to someone else. On a positive side yes the bars have been updated fab and its great to be able to warm up in there after you have been to the pool and had to gert dressd in freezing cold changing rooms with filthy floors and piss all over the place. i hope angell820 tht you read this and pass these comments on would love to hear your response read more

Take no notice of the reviews they are only written by people who go away looking for problems so they can spend the week/s moaning to each other. i have been to Robin Hood loads of times and far from being poor it is getting better and better every time i go, the new look reception and the superb Irish bar Oneills is wonderfull and the Lyons club is like a top class bar you would find in London or somewere, all the staff are so nice and will go the extra mile to make your holiday experience a happy time, please dont take any notice to the negative reviews, ok the basic chalets are as it says basic but you get what you pay for, they also have luxury holiday homes with double glazing and central heating three piece suites loads of room home from home and they are only £50.00 more for the week, if you want luxury pay for it! i will be going back again this year again it will be my third visit i love it my family love it all my neighbours go and most of my friends go, they said it has stopped them going to Spain as the entertainment is much better and the prices are very very reasonable. take my advice dont read about it book it even go and have a look around, im buying my own caravan it only cost £5995.00 so i can go every weekend love you Robin Hood read more

Lyons Robin Hood Holiday Park Where do i start!!!!!!! Welcomed !!! at reception by the most unhappy, unpleasant and unfriendly person in wales. But we thought we'll make the best of it by going i the pool, not too bad warm enough then you come to get dressed and hypothermia sets in because the changing rooms have no heat in and are freezing all the time, quite surprised no one has collapsed or had an heart attack going from the warm pool to the changing room its that cold!!! we asked the pool attendant and he said when the heat was put know one thought about the changing rooms .there is no sauna as advertised and Jacuzzi wasn't working again!. Went to Lyons bar guess what it was closed. if you want a drink you had to walk right to the other side of the camp, We asked the man in charge (Bar Manager Dave?, Been told he thinks he's G-d) why the lyons was closed and he said rudely I can close it when i feel like it!. Bar-staff mostly ok but for the young blonde girl another happy sole. They seem to have that if you don't like it go somewhere else attitude. The camp needs an overhaul not the bars or arcade where they get all your money, but everywhere else. I seem to be going on abit but the camp is Not up to standard read more

Myself and my partner and children ageing from 2 to 16 years old have just returned from Lyons Robin Hood in Wales . The caravan ( Silver which is meant to be the highest accomodation they do ) was horrendous with holes in the walls mould on the curtains not equiped in the kitchen not even a tin opener . There were screws hanging out the bottom of the mirror which was placed just above one of the beds which was a health and saftey issue . At one point the bloody bedroom door in the caraven actually came off in my daughters hand ! We ended up being flooded due to lose fittings on the fixtures under the sink ! Need i go on ?! Members of staff are rude to the point i ended up rowing with them ! Now when it comes to the entertainment crew they were AMAZEING . Absloutly fantastic they were helpful polite made you feel very very welcome loved the kids . They put every bit of effort into there work which is what makes the holiday enjoyable especially after the issues we had . Morning kids clubs were fun and imaginative and the evening entertainment was 2nd to none .. Absolutley love all the rangers down there they work so hard . Well done guys xxx THE STAR IS FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT CREW ONLY . read more

We have just returned from i weeks holiday at the Robin Hood Caravan site.We were very dissappointed with the things on offer here. The food from the chippy was terrible. We were awaken at 6.30am one morning by the dustman collecting the bins , another morning by workmen working on the caravan next door. The pool was very nice and the staff were also freindly in there . The club was another thing ! this is supposed to be a freindly attmosphere but with 3 minders on the door watching every move you make is quiet intimidating Oh thats when they decide to open.(advertised as entertainment every night we went to the club on Thursday evening and found it all locked up ,the only other place to have a drink was the bar where you could not take children and surely when on holiday you need somewhere you can take the kids in the evening.Luckily we rented our caravan privately from a very nice lady ,it was immaculate all mod cons and worth every penny.Unfortunately we would never go back to this site as I feel the management have the attitude if theres not enough people we wont bother opening the entertainment. After speaking to other guests this was the general opinion. read more

do not believe everything you read***** after reading the bad reviews I was dreading going on holiday but I have learnt never believe everything, I booked this at the last minute for myself an children I originally booked to stay in the chalet when I arrived at the chalet it was quite outdated with old fashioned furniture but still it smelt lovely on arrival and it was spotlessly clean but dispite this I still wished I'd booked a caravan so went to reception who were most helpful and polite and offered me a upgrade to a caravan for a extra cost of £50 which I excepted I was Informed that the beds would not of been made and that somebody would come around with bedding, the caravan which I got was lovely it felt like home immacutely clean and within five minutes of going in the bedding was delivered and two cleaners made the beds even tho I offered to do this they were very friendly and polite and offered a top class service they told us if we needed anything else to give them a shout overall one of the best British holidays I have been on and I'm already looking at booking for next half term (caravan tho) well done to all the staff for a excellent service read more

Went for 4 nights, thank god not any longer! Six of us in total in two chalets, four adults and two kids aged 2 and 3. Booked a premier chalet would not like to see the basic ones!!! Awful dirty chalets, door handle broken and off sitting on the bed! Toilet seat broken. Chalets cold at night due to single glazing take extra bedding! Swimming pool was good but only two cubicles for getting changed, showers had blocked drains so more like pools of other peoples shower water. Also only open 9-4 and closed from 12.30-1.30. Entertainment was ok but not great, only two places to go for food on the whole site. Kids play area only for a few hours morning and afternoon. Good job we had car as spent most of our time out of the site, if not we would have came home early. When we went to check out at 8.30 nothing was open so had to leave keys in open chalet. Checkout was 10 so find it ridiculous that no one was there even a box to put keys in would of done. Drive home was best part of holiday, do not waste your money, boring dirty site and very run down. read more

We have just returned from 4 nights here with 2 kids aged 2 & 4, we had a sun deal in a chalet & after reading the comments on here were very anxious. I thought the chalets were ok ish for what we paid, I can see what people mean by being run down ie few stains on floor, strip lighting throughout (very clinical) little things like the sealant coming off in bath but the bathroom was clean. Things like cooker & microwave were clean, the floor or carpet was discusting & u got very black feet, personally I would have been more bothered if the oven was gross. The linen wasn't to bad but there was a bit of a smell of damp but no worse than a caravan so everything needs washing same as when u have stopped in a caravan, we have been to haven & had to do that! We also had plenty of cooking utensils. I would give the entertainment staff 5* for a small site they could not do better lets remember this isn't haven but the entertainment was nearly as good, swimming was good too & staff were friendly all in all not to bad for what we paid. read more

This is my third visit to the camp, it's nice to see some improvement in the facilities. The park is generally well maintained but there is still a litter problem and the accommodation standard is still not up to scratch. My caravan was tired and probably due to be retired. However, there have been welcome changes, the reception area and club rooms have been redecorated to a high standard, a very modern feel. The entertainment this year is a vast improvement, they have ditched the endless bingo and coloring in and replaced it with high energy family entertainment that my whole family enjoyed. It would be nice for my children to be able to see the characters out more, especially in the day time, but apart from that couldn't fault the childrens entertainment. For the adults we saw a very good singer from the x factor one night, and the teamsters put on some very good in house shows. We did not think much of the on site chip shop, preferred it when it was a burger bar, but had a nice meal in the main complex. read more

Stopped in a private caravan, which had all we needed, the biggest issue is the site. Most of the bar staff are ok, but one blonde girl is rude to the point of obnoxious, who thinks basic manners are only given when giving her a tip , she will ignore you if your at the bar and you don't tip her when she serves. The bars are pretty intimidating, usually with lots of drunken people eyeing up for trouble, and when I spoke to one of the door staff he said that the week we went there had been no trouble, but usually had to deal with fights most weeks. There isn't a lot to do for kids, so spent most of our days away from thr site. The entertainment staff are ok with the kids. If you plan to stop there for a week or so, it isn't as cheap as it sounds. I read with interest the employee who was on here about the directors investing in the site. But it's supposed to be for kids as well, and money seems to be going into the adult bars only. 1 star for the caravan we stayed in 1 star for the kids entertainment staff. read more

My husband and I have just returned from a 3-night break with our 5-year-old grandson. We stayed in a premier chalet for 4, which was very clean and tidy. The only negatives about the accommodation were: separate toilet was at the opposite end of the chalet to the bathroom (for washing hands) and the mattress (although new and clean) was very poor quality and far too soft, when you are used to a good firm mattress. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. There were plenty of activities for our grandson in the day and the evening with the "Rangers" and he loved all the games, dances and the swimming pool. For us adults, we had the sports bar; showing rugby and football etc and the club had some great acts on as well as bingo, open the box etc. We only paid £135 for 3 nights and this included all the club passes and electric and as the children's activities (except the arcade) were all free, we spent very little. I would certainly return again. read more

where do I start, I paid for early check in and my caravan beds were not made. cleaners had done a quick shoddy clean and swept into a cupboard. I complained to reception the day after and I was told to await a call back. four days later I had had enough of waiting so I went down again and I told them I either wanted a refund for my early check in or I wanted a late check out so they very quickly granted me this. the caravan was basic, no iron or board the sink was blocked and it took them 3 days to fix it as they said there was no maintenance person that worked on a weekend. the childrens entertainment was for older children as in 9+years, only 1 colouring competition for younger ones. the site shop was very reasonably priced and the people who work there was very polite, it is safe to say I WILL NOT be going back there again. read more

Arrived early and first impression is good also had caravan ready. Got to caravan which we had upgraded to and found that it had no heating in rooms which we asked about on phone and told yes, electrics tripping 2-3 times a day, ironing board but no iron, second entrance seal was very poor so any heating was pointless. Some mould spores on curtains not enough crockery for the 10 berth van. Entertainment poor for children despite guide saying there was lots(there was not). Baby changing and disabled toilet was disgusting every day and smelt worse everyday like it had not been cleaned. Diner which has chippy was great food fairly priced and could not fault it. The only grace is that we only intended for this to be a place to start each day discovering Wales we would not recommend this place not even to a sun £9:50 holiday person read more
