On top of that, he has a labor demanding job which adds on top of that body tension. He recently pulled his back from moving things around the house and was in intense back pain for a few days. I called around to some chiropractic places but Cornerstone is the only place that contacted me back and fairly quickly! I spoke with Dr. Shep to set up an appointment and he was able to get him in the next day! He was extremely helpful and kind when setting up the appointment and answered all the questions I had. After the appointment, he had come home and said he's never felt better. In the past he's seen multiple chiropractors but he's never had the experience like he did at Cornerstone after seeing Dr. Andrea. Not only did she address his pulled back but helped him get a plan to address all the other aches he had that catered his auto-immune disease. When your doctor actually cares about your needs and create a plan to fit your problem areas instead of something generic, it shows this place really cares about their patients. I literally limped into Dr. Bockelmann's office (after a night of compression, ice, and elevation) and comfortably walked out. He made the adjustments and gave me directions to test it out on level ground and take it slow the first day. I didn't mean that as a brag, but to emphasize my belief that Dr. Gatteau is one of the most positive influences on my running career. His adjustments were huge for a temporary issue, but he helped me develop a process to approaching my sport from a recovery & wellness perspective that actually helped all areas of my life. I came in the summer of 2013 before my senior year of High school with issues with pretty substantial pain, inflammation, and tightness. He made some pretty important adjustments for the time. But he also taught me how to stretch properly, and to relax and naturally drop into a stretch. Using your parasympathetic nervous system vs. forcing into a stretch (sympathetic). This was all in 3 appointments, in one week when I was on vacation, with a huge impact on my career.
