In Lyon I was unable to locate bike tour operators that could accommodate my child who knows how to…read moreride but isn't wait old enough to manage a 3 hour bike right on her own. say 6 and 14. So we went to Cycle Veran, who were only too eager to rent us their ebikes. I guess we could have tried to hook up with a tour company after securing our bikes, but we decided to do our own guided tour, which turned out great. We managed about 17 miles in 2 hours, and were very happy to return the bikes after even tho we had them until 19:00. After a big rain storm we decided we had our fill, and were only too happy to finish, plus my rear was developing a saddle sore. The city of Lyon, the Rhöne and the neighboring Saöne have lovely bike trails. Very friendly. It's not always easy to figure out which side of the road to bike on and or where the bike trail leads, but with a little bit of patience you will figure it out. We biked up to the Basilica and I was sure glad to have an ebike. I appreciate local business like this working with tourists. We were charged 70 euro for two ebikes which would could have used from 10am to 7pm which was very reasonable.
