It has aged well through the years, and is quite well maintained. The tech component of lights and sound operation went seamlessly from the point of view from an audience member. As someone who has done tech work for theatre productions at a couple Performing Arts Centers (PAC) in the area in the late 2000s, I was impressed with this facility from the front center of the auditorium. Definitely worth looking into either renting and/or booking for an upcoming event here.

I have been going to this theatre for 8 years and the many changes I have seen take place within it have been crazy, but ultimately beneficial in the end. 5 out of 5 for the concert experience and parking 1 or 2 out…read moreof 5 for SCFTPA's branding/markeitng...i'll explain we went for the BBVD concert in Oct 2026. great show, the band is still rockin since the 90s. concert was on a Weds and the theater was maybe 70% full -- we thought, same concert at this venue on a Fri/Sat, it would have sold out, but that's neither here nor there i had never been here and the parking is a little wonky. it's across the street and over the hill but it's FREE (i know...WHAT?) and it's a short walk to the entrance. slightly confusing to find but you'll figure it out. you can also probably call the box office ahead for info. after the short walk from parking we found the theater in the large arts complex i guess. anyway where the shows are held is the Virginia Piper Theater. there was no signage or advertisements for our show, so we just guessed all of these people standing around like at an airport were like us, and waiting for the doors to the V Piper to open. we were right. but i mean, you're an entertainment venue....you should have a marquee or posters or...............SOMETHING that gets you hyped for the show ahead. the stage set-up for BBVD was also very minimal. no screens. no laser light shows. but the band was AWESOME. rare is the band that can get by on talent alone (i'm looking at you, 2026 Motley Crue) all of the theater staff/volunteers were very helpful and friendly. the merch stand staff equally great to do business with. the theater and bathrooms are C-L-E-A-N. even the men's restroom has dividers between every uninal. wowsers! no trough-style sausage party like you get at Celebrity Theater, Financial Theatre, and the other A stages in Phoenix with no concern for a gentleman's privacy. i mean, some of these places are like that snake pit in Indiana Jones where you're just trying to avoid the glare of many garden hoses. too much bro, too much. THIS place was class class class, all the way for my little man. privacy AND clean porcelin. outstanding! all of the seats seemed to have plenty of room. overall just a great night-out experience. clean and easy parking. clean and easy venue. it helped that the band was outstanding. it's just too bad there aren't more big acts that come here. i would compare this stage to the Mesa performing arts stage, but the Mesa venue gets way more acts. anyway, Scottsdale, build up that line-up and we shall return, you sexy city you!!!

I stopped by for an Agatha Christie play on a Thursday at 7:30. First off, parking won't be an issue in their complimentary lot. I came straight to the theater for the performance, but if you're looking for some food and drinks before the show, there are a good number of bars and restaurants within close proximity. Once you arrive, there's a small lobby area to check in. From there, walk to the back to reach the theater. It seats roughly 100 people or so, so it's definitely a small theater. Which I love. You're right there in the heart of the action with a great view of the performance. With that being said, you won't get as elaborate of a set design as bigger theaters in town, but they make up for it in other ways. E.g. affordable ticket prices. Before the show and during intermission, they sell water, soft drinks, and snacks. Not a wide variety of options, but at $2 a pop, you've gotta love the prices. I for sure was the youngest person at the performance (kids these days don't know what they're missing), but that's totally fine by me. Looking forward to stopping by for another performance in the near future!

At the onset before the performance we were told that this would be the last concert of the season. The Chandler Center is going to get a renovation and probably will not be open until late October or early November. This Center houses a large venue and on this Saturday night it was pretty much a sold out crowd. When Pat Metheney came out he didn't waste any time and just started playing. The crowd was really into the music and so was I. The place has provisions for the handicapped and does allow for drinks during the performance. I really don't know what else to add other than the place is impressive. When it opens up again in the Autumn maybe take a look at what they have in the concert venue. I guess we got lucky to attend their last concert of the season.

We went to watch The Phoenix Symphony performing with Troupe Vertigo: Cirque Carmen. It was a magnificent combination of orchestral music with aerial acts, dance, and circus style performances. The seats were very comfortable and the quality of acoustics was fantastic. Make sure you take a clear bag or a small purse (8.5" x 5.5") as they do have a bag policy. Large purses and backpacks are not allowed. They also use metal detectors and have security screening. I'd definitely love to go see another performance here.
