The social worker will keep your family member longer than need be if you have a secondary insurance. Just to bill them I had to fight with the social worker to release her even though the physical therapy team said she could be released. It was a nightmare. They let her come home one day and I had to return her that night. Just so they could bill her last night there. What a scam. read more

Upon arriving from the hospital we were greeted by all the staff and everyone seemed friendly and communicative. That quickly evaporated. Within 2 days they couldn't locate her clothing we brought in for her. A few days later they lost her close up glasses (not cheap ones) when we had a change of room. I reported this to everyone here from the volunteers all the way up to administration. There is no communication here and most of the staff is very lax and slow. They almost never delivered her hearing aids and I had to ask for them every time I came. (They are taken out and put in a cart at night ). The TV wasn't working for the entire first week even though they called maintenance. Into her second week she developed an infection and nobody called family to let us know nor were we told what the treatment regiment was. I just felt that overall the care wasn't great. I have nothing else to compare this to but I am overall very disappointed. I know working here isn't the greatest job ever and it's very demanding but I'm sorry I didn't see the overall rating on yelp before she came here. My grandmother has received cold and uncooked food for days. When asked to heat up food, staff shook their head and proceeded to talk trash about the residents and their very valid complaints. If I could give this rehab a minus 0, I would. Our mother was there for 3 days, and she didn't get quality medical help. Our mom has life threatening conditions which needs to be monitored closely. My sisters and I constantly called them to get information, and they made it impossible to get information until we lost our tempers with them. Then they all came to help our mom after the fact when we faced them with the truth that they ignored her most important medication for her heart and lungs. They lied to us, we called an ambulance for her to get sent back to the hospital, the family found out from the hospital that my mother was not administered any of her most important medications which now she needs to stay in the hospital for medical care. Please if you are thinking about sending a loved one there, I would recommend not doing it. There website shows 5 stars! What a joke read more

This is the worst rehab facility please I beg of you do not send your love ones to this facility unless you truly do not care about your love one. I was here for 3 weeks and I cry to go home the food is horrible the bedding is horrible people just do not care at this facility. This facility needs to be investigated. I have so much to say, but I will need to write a book. I will up load pictures, as they say pictures are worth a thousand words. Some of the CNA will help you, very few. My physical therapist and occupation therapist was awesome, Mario did try to help me once he was aware of the food problem, many days I did not eat anything. The dietician (Courtney) is the worst, she has such a Nasty attitude, she don't listen when you try to talk to her, you would think a pregnant person would be a little nicer, not her, she made my stay awful. As you can see from the pictures,the food that is served is horrible, the facility don't have washcloths, they give you napkins to wash with,. I ask 3 different people for a pair of socks with the grip on the feet, all three told me they don't have sock available, How sad. at first Lynbrook restorative seemed to be helping my father. but the longer he was in the rehab facility the more our family took note that he was always sleeping. (past out) there was no word of a discharge in the future and he was sleeping more and more. we asked that the medication ( a anti psychotic medication) be reduced our family was immediately notified that he had "plateaued" and must be discharged. once home we found he was in a diaper sores and a rash. the diaper was "full" and we were not informed of the need to change him. under NO circumstances would I allow him to be returned and would never send a relative or your relative to go there read more

I wish I would've read these posts before my dad went there, it was recommended by a nurse, it was nice when we got there but when I went to visit in the afternoons, they would keep his room door half open and wouldn't even open the curtains to get some sunlight inside. The nurses were very rude had 1 nurse who was part time sorry don't remember her name, she was nice (she worked there full time left for a while then came back pt). That says something alone! Google will make it look like they are a great place because they delete all the negative review. They actually just deleted mine within minutes of putting it up. First off the supervisor Heidi is absolutely nasty, rude, will lie straight to your face and will not help with complaints about the staff. The aids are are extremely rude, horrible and very unprofessional. If you ask them for help they will say "ITS NOT MY JOB". They will not help patients in and out of bed and if and when they do they will hurt them and throw them around like a rag doll. They don't want to bring patients to the bathroom or if they have diapers on they will tell them to go to the bathroom in the diaper and then never come back to change them which then leads to all type of infections. My mother was there to regain a little strength in her legs and to help with walking and never made it out of this rehab alive. She was their for her birthday and looked amazing and 3 weeks later she passed away from becoming severely septic due to the neglect from the aids and they pulled her tube out of her kidney twice and had to be sent out to get it surgically placed. They didn't send her out to the hospital till it was too late. The facility is filthy and I wish I never sent her there. read more

Please don't be fooled, they are really pleasant upon arrival and then when you leave they are rude and dismissive of your elderly parent that you left in their care. They are using covid as an excuse to keep you from having access to your family member. When you inquire as to why your family member is in distress they act as if they are concerned - but do nothing. Yes there are some really nice pleasant staff but there is no assurance that you are under that individuals care I care and I took my mom out, she came home looking like a drowned rat . Called 6 times to speak with admissions and never once received a call back. My aunt was here and was treated great (when we were there.) unfortunately she passed away but now my grandpa needed a therapy facility and I can't even get through to speak about options or insurance. This place is a nightmare ! My sister is in ICU due to the lack of care and poor treatment from the staff at this so called five rating place My sister is 62 years young and went for physical therapy. When she would ask for a bed pan they would tell her to go in her diaper then wouldn't chAnge her for hours. And when they did change her they were so rough she would cry ! One nurse said she was going to lunch so my sister had to wait an hr and a half to be changed. She has so many bed sores thanks to this place too. One nurse took her temperature under her arm and could not get a reading and very annoyed put it from under her arm to her mouth!!!!! I could tell you more horror stories but my advice is. Find a more compassionate rehab and or nursing home. This one should be closed down! I hope my sister makes it. read more

Why O Why!!!! Have you ever had a relative that is not your father BUT you love him like a dad? Well you will definitely want to check out this review. I will make this as short as possible. I have a family member at this facility and I am going to do EVERYTHING possible to get him out of there. I looked at everyone else's reviews and cannot believe their recording will say 5 star service? Are you kidding me? First let me say...hearing your love one is hurt and then trying to call this facility to get a straight answer is DEFINITLY a deal breaker for me. I called 3 times and got hung up on before I could ask any questions. Then I can't get updated information on his injury because they don't have the paperwork that states I am acting on his behalf. Just WOW!! I am SO completely upset and then seeing that this is the norm by these reviews is beyond upsetting. When your relatives are living out there golden years the VERY LAST thing you want is for it to be unsettling or disturbing for them. I normally don't give this bad of a rating BUT I have to be honest and at this point I am devastated that this is what my relative is dealing with. I will be doing my VERY BEST to make sure his quality of life is the BEST it can be...especially when he has done EVERYTHING to make sure my quality of life growing up was the BEST it could be!!!! read more

SERIOUSLY ! If I could have giving ZERO stars I would. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BEWARE SERIOUSLY.... If you care any for your loved one DO NOT set a toe in this facility. I will make my story short as possible last year my mother was transferred from the hospital there, not only did they not want to let me in to make sure she is checked in ok, since my mom was transferred via there ambulate service. So my brother, my father and I made sure we got in and I am glad we did. The place is a horror show. I literally saw the awful way they treat the patients, there was an aide screaming at a patient to get back to his room. The aides I encountered had very little patience or compassion. Zero bedside manners I saw an aide abruptly puts her hands on patients without even letting the patient know that she was changing her. The aide walked in said" You pee yourself, turn, turn over, turn back aggressively like the aide was upset with the patient, that was the manner in which the aide was changing the patient. The place even has these laughable signs posted in the rooms" DON'T FALL, CALL. My mother suffers with Alzheimers not only was this place bad, they told me they will put a mattress on the ground should my mom turn and fall off the bed, YIKES.. I immediately decided to get my mom out of there, the ( supervisor nurse and the assistant on duty) tried to force my to sign that I was taking the patient out, I guess against their directives. They even said to me that my mom will lose her insurance if I refuse care. In return I asked her, if it was your Mother and you had to leave your Mom here, would you?? Guess what folks, she NEVER ANSWERED ME. I refuse to sign it, left the paperwork right there. I got my Mom's wheelchair and wheeled her right out of there. I decided I would never take my Mom back to any of these facilities, she now gets rehab at home where she is safe and happy. Please know that the place looks amazing from the outside but the care is just not there. It's BAD, REALLY BAD. This is not a good choice. I am only being honest and I know the place has a business to run but the care team of aides needs proper training and professionalism and a courteous heart towards their patients. It hard to leave a loved one somewhere where they are not used to, it's stressful for the family and the loved one. Everyone deserves proper care and a loving place that will improve their life not stress them out. This is not a free facility everyone is paid and the inside care needs to match the outside of their beautiful looking facility PERIOD ! read more

My mother passed away here in the first few days of April. Before the lockdown I was able to take her out now and then. She was in here for a short rehab. But after the lockdown she became trapped. I had heard the virus was in the place by a friend who had an aunt there that was moved to the 2nd floor after contracting it. I could only see and talk to my mother while standing outside her room's window. On the last Sunday in March, I called her. She had a sore throat and was coughing. The concierge in the room noticed it as well and I told her that was new. Each visit that week she was getting weaker. I spoke to a nurse who had called me and told her about my mother's throat. Her response was that the doctor would be notified and perhaps we could get her some lozenges. I visited her daily and one day tried to get a nurse to talk to me face to face. I was told an emergency occurred and someone would call me. Nobody ever did. By Thursday they moved my mother's room closer to the nurses station due to falling. It was then that I spoke to the social worker and told her my mother was weak, had a sore throat and coughing. I asked had she been tested for coronavirus and was told no. And I was then told that my mother had a release date and that she was not regressing. A member of the PT staff came out to tell me that she was doing well. If that was true why move her room because of her falling? I was also told that I shouldn't be looking in the windows to see her. On Friday I saw that my mother was on oxygen sleeping. Nobody notified me. My brother called and learned that she had developed a fever and had trouble breathing. It would be that same night that my brother got a call that the fire department was at scene during CPR on her. I live ten minutes away. Instead they called my out of state brother. By the time I got to the facility she had passed. My last touch would have to be through a body bag. Ten days would go by and not one phone call from the facility. They even took down their website. I finally called them and the social worker offered her condolences. But she didn't know if my mother had been tested for the. Virus. I'm pretty sure she wasn't. I asked for my mother's medical records and was told to speak to someone else who has yet to return my call. So the day before I'm told she is fine and the next day she is dead. It took just six days from when I first told a staff member about her symptoms for her to die here. I feel bad for the residents who left trapped in there. I wish I had gotten my mother out of there before the lockdown. I will say that the people who do the grunt work are very nice and helpful. But anybody above them has little regard for its patients. Every family member should have been notified about what steps were being done to protect everyone in this place and truthful updates to each family. 4/18/20 according to the New York State Department of Health , this place has had 8 deaths so far. read more

I give no stars to this place. my mom has been to several rehabs. She was found on the floor a 5am twice before I received a 5am phone call that she stopped breathing and passed. As if that was not bad enough they proceeded to call 4 times pressuring me to give them arrangements because they had no where to put her body! read more

My mother had recently fallen and seriously injured herself. She was sent to this facility after exiting the hospital and at first I was skeptical because of the reviews this place had. To my surprise, this place was absolutely spectacular. They not only took care of her but they did physical therapy with her on a daily basis. The nurses and doctors were amazing and super friendly. The social worker, Eva, was a cut above the rest, you could tell she really cared and helped me with this situation that I've never been in before. She really cared about my mother and communicating with the two of us. I just felt that it was a homey place for my mother and anyone that she encountered genuinely cared about her which you absolutely cannot put a price on. My only gripe with this place is that the food is subpar at best, however they do outside bbq's from time to time and the food there is excellent. With the exception of a small few, the staff here is horrendous. Maybe it's not their fault that they're understaffed, but it's impossible to get anything done. When someone needs something, it's impossible to get anyone to help. Most of the aids are careless and lazy. Again with the exception of a special few. Place is too understaffed. My mother and I witnessed many terrible things. one elderly lady was very unhappy, she was walking the halls sitting in her wheelchair saying, "this f*cking place" another woman was crying. I also witnessed an elderly woman sitting in her bed and screaming out for 30 minutes or so, "hello" nobody went to her. That same night, I witnessed a nurse and an orderly violently shaking the bed of my fathers roommate. They were also hysterical laughing, he had Alzheimer's and the onset of Parkinson's and was non verbal and non responsive. My mother saw an elderly woman in a wheelchair falling out of the chair in the hallway, she was screaming "help, help" for at least 40 min, not one nurse went to her.My fathers roommate wore alarms at all times in case he fell. Numerous times while he was alone the alarms went off, not one nurse came to check on him. When my dad asked for his medicine he waited for over an hour to two. It wasn't until myself or my mom arrived to advocate for him did he receive it. If a patient is non verbal and doesn't have family to advocate for them, they are ignored. My dad had a full knee replacement which caused a lot of pain, he also received an IV 2x a day, it's supposed to take 1-1.5 hours. The second day it took 6 hours, the nurses didn't have the clamp open properly; an orderly brought his medicine. My father had never seen him before. Who was he?? He didn't even say what he was giving him, just handed him a cup of pills and walked out of the room. One night at 1am, my dads room door opened, a little old lady in a wheelchair started rolling in. Where was the night nurse on duty? How did something like this occur?. I witnessed a woman wheel herself outside, how did she make it past the receptionist? Day he arrived, we were told a therapist would be in for assessment, until that happened, he couldn't receive a walker, however, nobody came. After 2 hours, my mom went to look for someone since he had to use a folded chair to push as support to use the bathroom. The head of PT he came in, told my dad that wasn't safe. My dad asked what he was supposed to do? He was basically a prisoner to his bed. The therapist asked my dad to walk the hall, which he did perfectly, he was then given a walker but told him he wasn't allowed to use it and placed it on the furthest wall from the bed my father was sitting on and was told not to leave his room, he said he had a meeting and was going to come. He came back the day we started the process of leaving 3 days later. My dad was upset by this and the guy called my father a liar and stormed out of his room.room. In the 5 days my father was at this facility, he received very little PT. The second day the doctor was in, my parents were talking to him, the therapist came to get him later on and worked with him for 10 minutes stating the dr took away his allotted time. Throughout the whole stay, there were always different therapists who worked him harder than one another, causing him to have a lot of pain to "catch up".Claims they have 5 star gourmet food, Everyday for breakfast he received an egg that smelled very old and very rotten. The tuna fish sandwich looks like spicy golden mustard but smelled like cat food. My dad spoke to the dietician, told her food is terrible. She apologized and asked him how she could make it better. He asked for no pork products, no fish, no eggs, no white bread, no pancakes/ French toast. Only wanted for breakfast cereal, low fat milk and yogurt, always decaf coffee. She made a note on his chart, same day for lunch he got a fish platter with white bread. Next morning he got pancakes, a hard boiled egg with whole milk and sanka. Dinner again after speaking to Natasha the dietician, New England clam chowder and salmon and a cup of hot water. What was the point of speaking to her if nothing changed? Website states you'll feel like you're in a hotel. The sheets all have rips and holes in them, like they've been eaten by moths. The wardrobe has broken, bent wire hangers and smells like vomit. The brochure given to my dad in the hospital claimed the bathrooms are spa like, that couldn't be further from the truth, it's a handicap bathroom shared between 4 patients, 2 being woman. The adjoining door does not lock. The bathroom is cleaned once durning the day and smells terribly of urine and feces. You don't even have to be inside to smell it, you can smell hit as soon as the door opens or standing next to the door. Besides the room itself, we sat in the lobby where big chunks of dust were falling from the vents on top of our heads as well as onto the floor. The website also states they have an "Exquisite Setting - quiet wooded garden and patio for relaxation." This is a large patio area with broken up concrete that sit next to the garbage dumpsters and smells terribly. It's also the area the staff stands by to smoke on their break. read more

My grandmother left the hospital for being cleared of a bad UTI infection in early March 2019. She was moved to the Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing Center for rehab, since the infection she had left her very weak. She is not able to walk very well and has very limited mobility. The staff there barely came into her room to check on her whenever I was there. I would constantly see that she barely had any water. Her first 3 days there she didn't get food trays, and I had to be on top of the staff to make sure that they get her something to eat and drink. She was not properly being taken care of. After 3 weeks of being at the facility, my grandmother looked ill again, wasn't herself, began non-coherent and lethargic, not saying much and staring into space (not my grandmothers normal demeanor). When asked the staff, they didn't say much, but I had to tell them to get the doctor on the phone and give her a urine analysis test to see if she had an infection again. At the same time, she began coughing up a storm and no one seemed to care. She was coughing so much that she began wheezing and finding it hard to breathe. The rehab doctor did a chest exam and said her lungs were clear and that he would put her on antibioitic for bacteria in her urine and for her coughing. They started the anti-biotic but 4 days later her condition was worse and they continued to be neglegant by not addressing this in a more serious manner. In the midst of this my grandmother "fell" out of bed, unwitnessed and the rehab said that she tried getting out of bed to walk. This definitely does NOT sound like my grandmother. She would never try to get out of bed on her own without a wheelchair nearby. The rehab called my mother and said she was ok. My mom had to request that they take an x-ray of her foot because they were all bruised up. The same time, her coughing was worse, her wheezing worse, nurses couldn't get a temperature orally or under her armpit, and just left the room without getting a proper temperature read on her. It was after multiple meetings with the nurses, the supervisor and the doctor saying she didn't need to be treated at a hospital that we, her family decided that sending her to the ER was absolutely, undoubtedly necessary, otherwise she would end up dead there. She was sent to the ER and there they noted her oxygen levels were 87, whereby it should be a minimum of 94. Her temperature they did rectally and got a temperature of 92.2 (near hypothermic levels). Her blood pressure was 86 over 46 which is extremely low and her diaper was full to the brim and breaking by being so full of urine. It is a certainty that if we had left my grandmother in that place 1 more day, she would have been dead! The ER doctor confirmed she had pneumonia and a UTI infection. She had to be put under a heating blanket and on multiple strong antibiotics. That facility is a liability to the well being of the elderly. They do not restore health but deteriorate it further! DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE! read more

Do NOT ever send your loved one to this horrible place. My 93 year old dad needed rehab after a five day hospital stay. This rehab was chosen because it was close to my home and close to a dialysis center he went to three times a week. I was told by the hospital that my dad would be picked up by an ambulette between 3 and 4 pm on December 28th 2022 and bought to this Lynbrook rehab center. I called the rehab center three times after 4pm looking for my dad, as I planned on coming to the rehab center to bring his things and set him up. By 7:00pm I was told he still had not arrived. I asked the nurse that answered the phone to find out where he was. I called back and was told he had been at the Lynbrook center since 4:52 pm. I went to the center only to find out my dad had fallen. He had a lump on the left of his head, the size of a golf ball, a cut on the back of his head that required six staples, a cut on his left temple and a skin tear on his left arm. No one could tell me what happened, just that he fell out of bed. No one working on the floor seemed to care. We now had to go right back to the ER. Once at the ER my dad was unresponsive and spent the night there. I did not send him back to Lynbrook. My dad died a month later. He was never the same after the fall. He lost out on some rehab since the fall set him back. I had asked my dad what happened that night. He really couldn't answer me, except that he fell and couldn't get up no matter how he tried. The day after his fall I went back to the rehab center to speak with an administrator. I was told the head nurse would call me to discuss the situation, but never did. I am haunted by the sight of my dad that night. It was a traumatic event. I would also like to add that the second floor is dark and dinghy looking. This place killed my mom. My mom stayed at this facility for a little over a year. Because of Covid there was no way to check on her and see her living arrangements. The nurses there neglect their patients BIG TIME. My mom was on dialysis, the one that is done in the facility, there were days where she went without dialysis. She went into coma and they had to send her to the hospital, that same night she went into cardiac arrest fo 12 min, long story short, a few days later she passed away. I blame it on Lynbrook Restorative Therapy. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. It is worse than prison and because of them I will never get to see my mother again. read more

My mother was transported here for rehab after a hospitalization so she can build up her strength. We have been here less than 24 hours and I can tell I have done my mother a disservice by allowing her to stay in this God forsaken dump. I am literally beating myself up for this. She is currently in a room with 3 other people, not by my choice. The room is an awful dark gold color with brown curtains. Each patient is issued a wheelchair which doubles as a chairs instead of having recliners and walkers for them. There are 2 chairs in the room for guest to use. Otherwise you can stand or sit on the bed. One of her roommates is slumped over in a wheelchair. Another roommate expressed her concern to the aide and was told "she's fine, she won't fall". The call bell does not get answered when rung. My list of complaints goes on and on and on. In my closing, someone from administration was kind enough to sit and talk to me. She took a laundry list of notes about my concerns and dislikes. She genuinely seems mortified and embarrassed by what I said. She. told me she will pass everything along to the higher ups. I can only hope by writing this post that the facility addresses my concerns and that they correct things moving forward. I have done my job if I can help just one person with this review. read more

My Dad was in here. Actually the most horrific experience I have ever had. I had to beg for them to shower him for more than 13 days. They had him on a schedule for shower that I saw that they did not adhere to. I can assume that they were billing Medicare for this service even though they were not providing it. Someone told me there is case with the DA for that reason. One of the aids got so mad that I was begging for him to be showered she left him wet and in a dirty diaper for hours causing his skin to open. A wound doctor had to be called in. With the exception of a couple therapist and one nurse named Marie...nobody cared or treated my dad or other patients humanely. I tried to get people to care with extra kindness, send positive emails, TIP people who were working with my Dad, it didn't matter. Even the dietician was mean, short and careless. He needed thickened food and liquids. She would continually forget and got mad if you reminded her. I had meetings with Social Worker and Director...they promised me he would be taken care of after voicing my concerns after a nurse Forgot to give him his blood thinners. My Dad is only 73. We took him out of there after he had another stroke in there. I am horrified how this place is run For Profit by a group of people that nurses told me run other rehab nursing homes. Please do not put anyone you know in here. Please....if you are there already...show up, ask questions and check on the people that do not have visitors. Rehab was OUTSTANDING. PT is 5 star & everything the media said. They took a 95 year old from being unable to sit up in bed to walking 200 feet with a walker. It is not just a 9-5 job for them, they truly are caring talented pt professionals. The facility is clean and comfortable. The courtesy bakery is an exceptional amenity. STAY AWAY! This place is a death trap and infested with COVID-19, which they are hiding from loved ones. The nurses lie to you on the phone about the patients real condition. I received an emergency call from the rehab facility that my father was in respiratory distress and they've called 911. I was in total shock since just that morning they told me he was fine. Upon arrival at the hospital I was informed by the ER Doctor that my father was severely dehydrated and was infected with COVID-19. The ER doctor also informed me that his oxygen levels were very low. My family and I were in total shock since we were just told he was doing OK at the rehab center. They never mentioned he was sick or had any fever at all. Within a few hours of him being at the hospital they had to quickly put him on a ventilator since he was in such poor condition and don't expect him to make it. This place should be ashamed of themselves!!!!!!! Disgusting! Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing deserves to be investigated and shut down. The staff lies or are told to lie to families on their patient's conditions and care in order to hide neglect on their part. What happened to my father could have all been avoided. The fact that he was severally dehydrated is proof alone of their neglect. In addition, they lied to us about him being very sick with COVID-19. The staff waited until he was almost dead to give him emergency care. read more

My mother is currently there. They have not fulfilled her needs. Her sugar was going low and she pressed the call bell and nobody came quickly. It's sad that I'm on the outside and she has to call me for help because no one is there to help. This place needs to be closed their average rating is 2.0. They don't give great care as they should. The building is beautiful and everything is beautiful in there it's the care that's bad. I hope they take their time and read these ratings and improve their protocols when situations like these happen. I'm not saying this for just my mother, this must be done for every patient. It's a shame. The patients here are most likely to be safer at their house then come to Lynbrook restorative. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO READS THIS!!!! read more

Worst Rehab ever! The first day my 89 year old mom was there, after ringing for an attendant for thirty minutes she finally asked a nurse to help her to the bathroom. The nurse replied "What do you think, that you're the only patient here?" She was so rude. My mom wanted out immediately. Instead of listening to my gut feeling, I convinced her to stay. This was a big mistake. I left explicit instructions with the desk to call me or my brothers if there were any problems as we all live close by. The next morning when I arrived, my mom was in a state of panic and was shaking. A staff member informed us that because my mom was was ringing for an attendant in the middle of the night and was angry that no one responded, she was taken out of bed and out in a wheel chair and restrained! She was tied up to the chair! We immediately got her out of this place, but my mom still has nightmares over this. Steve, the director of the facility insisted that the staff had acted appropriately and that his staff routinely restrains patients! His staff backed him up.. It is inconceivable that this place gets away with this. Under no circumstances should you allow a loved one to stay in this place. read more

If you have a complaint with this place, file it with THE BOARD OF HEALTH. I did just that and have a case. The ER doctor that saw my mother once I had my mother removed from Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing immediately filed a complain with the board of health and advised my family to do it as well. Allowing helpless people to suffer because they cannot advocate for themselves is UNACCEPTABLE. The people that work here are incompetent, deplorable human beings! Bring your issue to the board of health and let your voice be heard. read more

Don't just don't go here. The very first night my father repeatedly called for help and was ignored, when we questioned the nursing supervisor they insisted it didn't happen. We had to stay with him 24/7 even sleeping there. And what we saw was very sad. No one checks on patients at night. They are left calling for help and no one responds. So so so very sad. I don't see how anyone can get well there. Daytime the place is ok. Nighttime is a nightmare, terribly short staffed. And there is one very large nurse who is just plain mean and doesn't do her job. I spent 3 months living at Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing (December 7,2015 to March 7, 2016 so I feel fully qualified to offer a review. First of all, the physical and occupational therapists were awesome. Not only were they knowledgable about their fields, but they were enjoyable and caring people. For the first time in my life, I actually enjoyed having therapy 2 times a day. The food is good and sometimes outstanding. The staff except for one or two were skillful as well as friendly and agreeable. Some nursing personnel were so kind and thoughtful and really cared for their patients both physically and emotionally. Certain staff especially the recreation head were particularly awesome and always had an pleasant and upbeat personality. The rooms were pleasant although not fancy. When I was there the cleanliness of the facility was very good.The Administration responded to patients' concerns in a timely manner. All in all I can say that my experience was excellent. I went in that place being unable to walk or go up stairs; I left walking and being able to stay in my two-story house. Oh yeah, don't forget to visit the COFFEE SHOP! Excellent level of service. This is my moms second time being in this facility and I am so pleased with the level of care. The staff was extremely professional and attentive to my moms needs. After 3 months she is leaving to go home and live independently. I would absolutely recommend this facility. read more

If I cold give this place 0 stars I would. My mother went in after hip surgery and not even 3 wks later she's hospitalized on a respirator with a deadly septic blood infection from (3) stage 4 bedsores down to her bones n muscles. This place will let u die. Please do not put a loved one there. Any day now I may be losing my mother bc they failure to rotate her and change her soiled diaper for 6 hrs and did not call the doctors when her blood pressure reached an alarming rate. Please please please do not put a family member in here. I pray that she somehow pulls through. read more
