Twos separate area of the barn are dedicated as galleries. I loved the way the art work was displayed throughout. Nice placement of furniture, pottery, etc. Almost everything is hand-made. Many of the paintings are painted by Carol herself. I fell in love with one, "Fire in the Pants", that I needed to purchase. I am going to bring it back to the States with me to display in my office. Aldona was lovely to interact with. Later I found a beautiful oil painting of a rustic scene painted by a P.E.I. artist. The preserves are delicious, too. I bought two jars of those. At the time, Aldona was giving away a ballpoint pen with the store's name printed on it. That pen was also high quality. If you're stopping by Antigonish for any reason, don't miss Granny's!

I had a generous portion of a seafood chowder that was thick creamed based, overflowing with substantial seafood and not just potato fillers. Then came the obligatory lobster roll which was one of the best rolls I've had! I finished with a homemade coconut cream tartlet that was good but had a tad too much gelatin for my palate. I'm all about texture and taste. Overall, my meal was very good and satisfying. The location is off the highway so pay attention youmight miss it. Cafe area was clean and well kept. Bathrooms were super clean ( bonus for this road warrior ), plenty of parking and outdoor dog friendly tables that each have water bowls and treats. That always impresses me as i travel with my chocolate lab all the time and to be abe to eat with her is a big deal. After you eat you are surrounded by a bunch of anti-rooms filled with local touristic nick-knacks. Café's such as this one are far and few on this island so if you're passing through stop in for a great meal!!
