Aldona was lovely to interact with. Later I found a beautiful oil painting of a rustic scene painted by a P.E.I. artist. The preserves are delicious, too. I bought two jars of those. At the time, Aldona was giving away a ballpoint pen with the store's name printed on it. That pen was also high quality. If you're stopping by Antigonish for any reason, don't miss Granny's!

Definitely more of a "natural remedy" type of store. Yes…read moreyou'll find crystals and SOME tarot cards-- but this isn't where you would wanna buy stuff you need for actual witchcraft. Barely any actual books good for learning, prices are surprisingly high for a crystal store. They don't sell things you'd need for spell work and don't have variety of things to actually do anything other than meditation or candle spells. I'd only recommend if you purchase natural/homemade products or natural tea remedies, or are just starting with witchcraft and want to buy crystals or MAYBE incense but I'd just go to a different store. Every dollar counts when you come to these stores!

Baked goods permeate the ocean air that flows from the open windows. This is an order your meal at the counter then find a table format, which if you're not a local it's hard to figure out which i observed while waiting to order. I had a generous portion of a seafood chowder that was thick creamed based, overflowing with substantial seafood and not just potato fillers. Then came the obligatory lobster roll which was one of the best rolls I've had! I finished with a homemade coconut cream tartlet that was good but had a tad too much gelatin for my palate. I'm all about texture and taste. Overall, my meal was very good and satisfying. The location is off the highway so pay attention youmight miss it. Cafe area was clean and well kept. Bathrooms were super clean ( bonus for this road warrior ), plenty of parking and outdoor dog friendly tables that each have water bowls and treats. That always impresses me as i travel with my chocolate lab all the time and to be abe to eat with her is a big deal. After you eat you are surrounded by a bunch of anti-rooms filled with local touristic nick-knacks. Café's such as this one are far and few on this island so if you're passing through stop in for a great meal!!
