I cannot say enough nice things. Let's just say I had a hair emergency. "Another salon" left my…read morehair a dark, flat, depressing mess. I have several big functions ahead that had me wanting simply to "look pretty". I was running very low on time, sanity and patience...and through another very professional salon (they couldn't get me in quick enough, so they suggested Elle. Tara Hollier specifically ) I was referred here. Surely they must have thought I was a crazy woman with my lengthy rambling texts, (bad hair makes women crazy no?) but they were so polite and understanding over the phone, I knew I'd be in good hands. I was. Tara fixed the mess, and I left feeling just a tiny bit glamorous. (For a 48 year old sleep deprived grandma with a full time job and 2 hour commute...a tiny bit glamorous is HUGE!)

I made an appointment after work at Salon Elle for a shampoo, condition, dry, and style before a…read moredinner party. At the time I made my appointment, I informed them that I have extensions, so long thick hair. They booked my appointment with Brittlyn and told me it would cost $35. I showed up and Brittlyn took me straight back to wash. I had to let her know that with my extensions, it should be brushed out first, because I knew I would have tangles and getting it wet just makes them worse. When shampooing she hardly worked up a lather and didn't really get to my scalp, underneath, or ends at all. She put a little bit of conditioner, rinsed it out and grabbed a towel to dry. At home, I HAVE to use quite a bit of conditioner to help with tangles and make it more manageable. I asked Brittlyn to wash it again, as I didn't feel like she got my scalp clean. She repeated a similar shampoo method to the first time, skipped conditioner, and then grabbed at towel. All in all I was in the sink less than probably 5 minutes! At home this process takes me 10-15 min easily, when I'm in a hurry. One of the best parts of a blowout is the relaxing time getting your hair washed and scalp massaged, this just felt rushed and half done.  She was rough brushing my hair out and I felt awkward making any more "suggestions" at this point; as they weren't warmly received. She didn't get my hair completely dry, didn't put a smock on me, and didn't hardly use any product or ask for what I'd prefer or typically do. My blouse was visibility wet. She started wanding my hair while it was still wet. She didn't brush it out or tease it or bother to ask again what I wanted and then told me my total was $40. This is just a $5 difference and I realize I have a lot of hair, but if you're price is going to change from what was originally named; the appropriate business practice would be to inform your client before proceeding. The choice to continue at a higher price should be the client's decision to make. I had dinner plans afterward and had to go with a damp shirt and damp hair and it did not look salon fresh at all.  If my hair wasn't really clean, wasn't styled, and still damp? What did I really spend money on!? To make matters much much worse I reached out to the salon owner/manager, before leaving this review, back in November of 2018 to inform her of the situation and hoping for rectification. She apologized and told me they wanted to rectify it by inviting me back for the same service, complimentary, with a different stylist. Since November of 2018 I have been trying to get this so-called correction rescheduled and have been unsuccessful in doing so ....I understand that during the holiday season, things get busy, but I have given them ample time and patience. I always go to a salon for this type of service before choosing who to use for cut, color, and other services. Luckily, I only lost out on $40. Horrible experience, I wouldn't recommend.

I had a strange experience. I think I offended Melinda when I came back and asked for more…read morehighlights of course I paid for them. She left me under the dryer for 30 minutes with bleaching my hair and then put a developer And left me for 30 minutes with that on my head I had to text her cause she was doing other people's hair. I was burning. She wiped it with a dry cloth, left it there then looked at me and said I came in with dry skin scabbed across my forehead I did not so it was like she was saying what she was doing. And then she said she got her nails nice and sharp and she put a towel over my face put her finger into my eye, and I even told her that hurt hurts. I have a chemical Burns On my face and my eye. She charged me 168 the first time and another 168. The second time she melted my hair and burnt me. When I first went in, a lady looked at me and said good luck because evidently she was talking about me from what I was told that's why I know she was aggravated so she physically assaulted me within intent also a 16-year-old girl that I know went to her, and she left her under the dryer for over an hour with bleach on her hair. She was acting super neurotic so I text her when I left. Thanks Melinda. Best money I ever spent because literally she seems mentally off right now and she will hurt you do not go there. Thankfully, I did the text saying hey, I'm burning I know you said this stays on 20 minutes. I've talked to other ladies and they said you're never supposed to leave bleach on 30 minutes or developer on 20 minutes. and I had my body cam app on that I use for work when I clean houses and I stayed calm as she was doing these things on purpose. I made sure to have evidence of what she did because this is assault. I have pictures of the burns even the one on my eye, but yelp keeps deleting them. You'll have to go to her reviews online to see the pictures.

I was a bit hesitant because my hair is different from most of the demographic in the area. However, when I called to make my appointment, I asked if any stylist knew how to cut "thin, very curly hair". I was assured that I was @ the right place. Ms. Kylie wore her mask the whole time, so I was not able to see her whole face... but I appreciated that she was following the guidelines! I'm a chemistry teacher @ WBHS so I was completely pooped out when I go there. But Ms. Kylie did an amazing job at keeping me engaged! it was great to talk to someone animated - it was an easy conversation. We had a great conversation about COVID, schools, hair dos & colors, while she cut my hair. Ok, the point: I LOVE the way Ms. Kylie cut my hair! She did an amazing job. I know that she knew I was nervous. Thin, curly hair needs to be cut and treated differently. It you do not cut it correctly, my hair will frizz & I will look like a ball. Additionally my hair is super short so I can't even put it up to hide bad hair cuts. Unfortunately, I've had this problem a few times in other salons; hence the Initial nervousness & hesitance. I am very greatly to have found Ms. Kylie. After my next cut, I will be doing a color again. Most definitely a rating of #5 - EXCELLENT! B/c that is what she was. If you are worried about getting your hair done, don't be! Just make sure to explain what you want, specifically, to the person that picks up the phone @ "On Stage". They will guide you in your best interest! THANK YOU FOR A GREAT CUT, Ms. Kylie. & thank you to the young girl at the desk & the manager who guided me to the best person. Sent pics MULTIPLE TIMES made it VERY CLEAR I wanted someone who was very versed in doing half and half: cornrow braids in the front and see in in the back. Bassy reassured me SEVERAL TIMES that she understood that I wanted someone who could do my hair up to par and high standards. I texted her several times throughout the month to ensure my appointment time was for 9am as I had plans for that day. She confirmed the said specific person would be at the shop. I get there everyone was getting serviced. I had to wait 1 hr plus for said person to arrive which it was Bassy. I've seen on several occasions Bassy's work personally and would never touch my hair!!! Needless to say since my appointment literally was not an appointment I dumbly let her do my hair. She took the blow dryer and raked my scalp several times w the blow dryer causing my scalp to become tender and sensitive to touch. She braided the front of my hair and proceeded to do an install. Bc I was in a rush my hair seemed fine far away but babbbyyyy when I got to evaluate my hair my hair has 100 million flaws plus 1,000 more. This woman literally pulled my hair so tight sewed my hair in soooo tight with thread going everywhere across my head my scalp was BURNING!!!!! There was no uniform pattern it was just criss crossed installed in my hair pulling my scalp and hair! My whole scalp is burning and sore!!! I got my hair done Friday and took this mess out Sunday. I informed Bassy of her half assed below sub par job she did. She literally refused to give $50 back of $200. I refused to let her take out my hair bc she already done enough being so aggressive and handling my very fine hair like I ain't got none. I will never be back to this establishment or refer anyone here and WILL BE REPORTING BASSY TO STATE THIS ESTABLISHMENT TO STATE AND FILING A COMPLAINT ON HER AS WELL!
