I'm not a mallrat, but if I were, I think the Pasinger Arcaden is probably the place that most…read morereminds me of American malls. Sure, the brand names are different - Marc O'Polo instead of J. Crew, S. Oliver instead of The Gap - but the construction, flow and feeling of the place really parallels the nicer malls I used to see back in the good ol' US of A. That said, the selection in the stores here seems to be about half of each respective store's normal stock. So if you don't find what you want here, you might consider looking for a bigger location of the same store. One bonus here is the free wifi. Summed up: Nicer than OEZ, but you might end up having to go to another location elsewhere in Munich to get what you want.

After couple of weeks of problems with the UPS shipping company regarding the street name (which is obviously a long one, but nothing that stops the postman to bring the letter in...) number of emails written to Sport Bittl ( the only one who can contact the shipping company to explain the banality of the problem) and finally parcels are back in their warehouse. Ok, it's wrong enough, but it's not the Bittl's fault, they just need to resend it... But guess what they did: They refunded me... And only after my one month bench mark email they informed me about what they did... They said UPS marked the parcel as returned by receiver... And nothing else... Job's done... One month lost... Not to mention one week rent of the whole equipment. Well maybe it's UPS to blame but it's not me who chose the UPS, it's Sport Bittl and they didn't follow the situation properly.

There's a new Aldi in northwest Munich! It's a really good one too. Here's the deets:…read more 1) Easy to reach with the 63 Bus, this Aldi is in the lower level of the new "Forum" shopping centre at the north end of the Friendheimer Brücke. 2) There is a parking garage for those of you who drive. 3) The store is really large. While the selection is pretty standard for all Aldi locations, the fact that they have space means they are less likely to be out of whatever you need, as can often happen at smaller Aldi locations right before Ruhetage. 4) The large space also means that there are more "special" items for sale in the middle of the store, such as an extra large Easter candy display. Yum. 5) I might be seeing things through rose-tinted lenses, but I have the feeling that there are more organic items here than at other locations. For example, I saw organic whole grains - spelt, millet, barley - being sold here, which I haven't noticed anywhere else. 6) After getting the basics here, it's easy to round out the rest with either the Alnatura or the Rewe on the ground floor level.
