Super friendly staff! They did an amazing job on my nails. I'm a wheelchair users and their salon was wonderfully accessible. I visited the Ironwood MI salon but have been told the Ashland WI one is just as beautiful and accommodating. I truly appreciated the extra steps they take to protect their customers and staff from covid with masks and plexiglass dividers. read more

Lux Spa & Nails 1432 E Cloverland Dr Ironwood, MI 49938 I made an appointment weeks in advance for my daughter and her friend to have mani/pedis on her 12th birthday. My daughter waited 1 1/2 hrs while nail techs pulled walk ins off the street and put them first. It was her 12 birthday request to go to the spa for the first time. Finally the girls were put into a chair and told they would be charged at adult rate, as they did not want to purchase the more expensive product. AFTER waiting an hour and a half for a scheduled 2:00 appointment and employees trying to steal from 12 yr olds we left. No where on their web site or in the store does it state 12 yr olds are adults. read more

First time I tried to get my nails done all the lights were on open sign was on. You get to the door it says closed for a week. Ok I understand we all need a vacation. Second time I went I stopped in at 9:15, the receptionist said we do not take walk-ins, mind you there is no sign saying that on the door or on their website. She was very rude , didn't offer to try and find me an appointment for any other time. Third time was today, I made an online appointment 2 days before, acknowledging my appointment yesterday by answering Y, received my confirmation. I went there 10 minutes ahead, the girl said she has no record of my appointment. I showed her my confirmation. She said must be something wrong with the computer program! Mind you I live 50 miles away, so the first 2 attempts I happened to be in town, the last was a special trip. I will not go there again. read more

Here in town for business already felt a bad vibe walking in. They barely wanted to speak to me and Idk if it's because I'm a woman of color that's 5 freaking 10 but I make great money tried to joke with the gentleman and everything and he just wasn't experienced. i wanted acrylic painted on and builder coffin shaped with hombre being from Detroit I think it was too advanced for you even though hombre and acrylic are basic he told me he only has one color I tried to tell him i don't mind seeing the color and asked could he show me the color on. paper towel and he pretty much said no and that he couldn't do my nail. Then i told him please stop being mean and he says I've been mean a been on the phone the whole time. i told him he wasn't talking to me so i wanted to talk to my friend plus im here to get my nail done i don't have to get off my phone i just wanted to relax from a 16 hour shift and talk to my best friend and treat myself and i felt like he didn't like me because i was black and bragged about my lifestyle this my first review on a business since i been here for 4 months we need more nail techs experienced professional and kind nail techs read more

Made an appointment online over a day in advance. Arrived 10 minutes early and signed in as instructed upon arrival. Then waited and waited and waited. At 40 minutes past my appointed time, I left without question or acknowledgement from the technicians on duty. I made an appointment for a reason - because my time is valuable. This is one salon that will not receive another dollar of my money - either through services rendered or gift certificates purchased for family members. read more

So, my family and I just moved to the Bessemer area from Florida. I was sad to see there wasn't many nail salon options, because i used to get my nails/toes done regularly and always brought my 6 year old. It was something we did together, and always made my little feel special so we made it a point. I was happy to see Lux had chairs for the kids, and immediately made our apt! We got right in, sat right down and the technicians were very polite and kind to my daughter. I picked a deluxe pedicure, and pink and white Ombre full set for myself, and a kids pedi/nail paint for my little. The tech barely touched my kiddos feet.. he cut her nails down a little and put lotion on her feet but definitely wasn't a real pedicure.. now, typically that reflects in price for a kids pedi so i wasn't concerned. My pedi was alright.. nothing to write home about. I always get the Gel polish so it lasts longer. We moved on to my full set and the guy immediately dug into my nail beds with the electric file. When he started to do the pink part of my obre i noticed the powder was pretty much white. I asked of he had the darker color i had the first time i came here and he said they didn't (they ordered some but wasn't able to get it due to COVID, i understood) He said the powder would darken after filing.. it didn't. I pretty much got white nails (not at all what i wanted) So i go to pay with literally bleeding fingers and was informed my full set and pedi was $120, oookay.. wasn't to pleased considering everything but whatever. They proceeded to tell me my 6 year olds painted nails and toes were $50!! (YES, FIFTY DOLLARS for some nail paint) I asked the receptionist to recheck this price and she cringed as she told me we had the correct price (granted it was gel, but it peeled off in the car on the way home) Overall, i'm not pleased with this experience. I will not be coming back. My nails look TERRIBLE. The shape is messed up around every corner, (i attatched pics) they look plain white, and my fingers are all scabbed up & hurting. My kiddo barely has painted nails to take to school and i'm upset. DO NOT RECCOMEND. I'll have to find an alternative. read more

I made an appointment to get a pedicure. I arrived 10 minutes early, because that is the polite thing to do. After standing at the desk for a few minutes, a man said "You getting a pedicure? Sit over there." He was the only person who spoke to me. No one else talked to me, apologized for the wait, or even acknowledged me. Not polite at all. There were two technicians, working on two ladies, with two more waiting, then me. It would be at least 45 minutes before they would get to me. Why bother with appointments? Why not just tell me it is first come first served? And it is a ridiculously large salon, with about a dozen pedicure chairs and another dozen manicure stations. I don't think this town has enough business to support something that size. My recommendation: Drive to Manitowish Waters and go to The Spa. read more
