We put this review on Luvin Pawz Rescue Facebook page but she decided to delete the post and block us so no one would learn what happened with our experience.
We were called by their volunteer last week and told about a pup but were traveling. They asked us if we wanted the pup when we returned from our vacation, but we said we would like to meet him first. We drove to another state to a foster's home and of course he was adorable. We asked the foster if we could foster to adopt given the quick decision and distance to our home, who said we had to call Karen, the CT volunteer who arranged the meeting, to get her permission. We did, on speakerphone, and she agreed as long as if it did not work out, the pup would be returned and welcomed back to the foster. We asked the foster who said that would not be a problem. She then asked us to pay the $600 fee to take him, which based on our conversation with Linda, were reassured that would be refunded if he was brought back the next 1-2 days.
Fast forward to the next day, we spoke with the foster, and decided we had to bring him back the next day. We were grateful we had that option, because we were told he was a poodle and while our kids do not have known allergies (we have a dog), they reacted and we knew long-term it would not be sustainable with whatever breed he was made up of.
We then messaged the volunteer to ask about our $600 refund, who said we had to ask Linda, who is supposedly the lady who runs everything in Oklahoma. Linda decided to berate us about returning him, say we were lying about her volunteer agreeing to foster to adopt (only in front of 7+ ppl), that she would never do that without her permission, and to go ahead and waste our time to file a dispute.
Please be aware they force a credit card payment through a text link before the contract is sent in the text. There was no paper copy offered to us to read. They will also tell you the dog is potty trained, crate trained, etc, but in our case, he was not. This was not a problem for us as he was learning fast with our other dog, but this dog unfortunately caused sickness in our home which we had to address and make a quick decision.
Had this rescue been come across as somewhat professional & genuine, I would have considered donating to the organization. But unfortunately we realized this is a rescue that will lie to you to get what they want, steal your money, and send you nasty messages instead of honoring what the arrangement was.
We have filed our dispute, and have our attorney on the back burner.
Given all the wonderful rescues out there, I would avoid this one. read more
