I am gonna have to hold off on the care part of my review because the jury is out on this one and…read moreonly been recent that we moved a loved one to the assisted living from the independent living arrangement. it really is a long involved convoluted story , way to many details to write about. the move process to assisted living lacks support and any process. the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. the actual move in day was supposed to have a nurse meet with us,but this never happened. we were accused of not arriving on time, even though we did. We had no idea when dinner would be served, or when the meds would be administered. I asked multiple staff members for help and who I should be talking to since our arrival meet and greet never happened. I finally lost it, yes I did, and demanded to speak to "the nurse". I did not yell, but was real firm and stressed out in talking with one of the care coordinators and so was our loved one. Finally the person who was to meet with us earlier in the day comes barreling in the room like she was ready for war. We were accused of yelling, yes yelling at her staff. Not true, yes I was firm, but did not raise my voice. she starting spewing that she had 60 people to care for! Guess our loved one was not in that number. She lied about an email that was sent to us about dinner times, nope nothing like that existed. we asked where she was for the agreed upon range of time for our arrival, said she didn't see an email or have a call. we emailed her at 7:40 am and called when we arrived. only could leave a voice mail. We had to fight to have a TV installed, another story for another time. Lastly the most rude and appalling comment out of this persons mouth was that if we didn't like it we should go back to where we came from. my loved one is not only stressed out because of this encounter he witnessed in his room (she should have had the professional courtesy to suggest that we go to her office to talk) but he is afraid that he won't get the care he needs! BTW we are paying $6500 for this type of treatment. Pathetic to say the least.

She was not getting her weekly showers and received frequent UTI's. She was not changed when wet and her sheets were soiled. She wore a gold cross necklace and her gold chain was replaced with a cheap chain. She lost 10 pounds in 3 months not always taken to the dining room. There were activities planned but they did not always happen because there was no staff available. PT's were not consistent and she was not making progress with walking. It was not uncommon to see employees sitting on their phones throughout the building. Not sure if they were on their breaks or not. Several residents said that things were better last year. We left Brookdale in Brookfield off Bluemound Road and took my mother in law to a different facility. At the new facility, she has always been dressed with her earrings on and eats in the dining room. At the new facility she is getting her baths and is able to walk the length of the PT room now. She eats in the dining room and participated in social activities daily.

This place is an utter and absolute joke. It would be in ones best interest to NOT send one of their loved ones to this honestly ghetto assosted living facility and community. I do volunteer entertainment work so any assisted living-skilled nursing facility I review is going to be good at scheduling social activity and cultural stimulation for patients and residents, but St. Anne's seems extra special in this department. The outside isn't so attractive but the insides are clean and comfortable, the chapel is lovely and there are many friendly gathering rooms. Family and friends seem quite welcome but the most remarkable thing about this place is that the food is good, though they did foist some decaffeinated coffee on me.

Ultimately, it became clear to me that VMP does not like staff who speak up and their primary goal is to better cover up issues rather than actually fix them. They are currently under corrective action from the state and have a one star rating. The HR manager slipped up today when I pressed her and admitted she had conversations with the CEO, COO, and therapy director and that they were concerned that I would be one to report issues that I saw and that was the primary reason that they decided to rescind my job offer. Prior to this conversation, I was given a bunch of other conflicting reasons and lies were made up, including claiming that I refused to accept the pay they offered me even though I only learned in that conversation that they actually got exactly what I asked for approved. Holly (HR) and Lisa (HR manager) were the two people I've been dealing with for the last month and I would recommend that you get everything in writing or record your conversations with them in particular to protect yourself (WI does not require you to let them know you are recording them FYI). Holly said so many lies it made my head spin and the few times I had hard evidence that she was lying her story would change entirely and she would say that she "made a mistake" and "misspoke". Lisa said that Holly followed company policy, even when I pointed out that Holly was even caught in a lie in a conversation we all had on the phone together. Lisa also claimed that no one has ever said Holly is unprofessional, implying that I was the issue, but in the exact same sentence said that Holly admitted to being unprofessional with her lack of communication with me and follow through of actually calling me when she said she would (for reference, on several occasions she would tell me she'd call me on Friday, and then we didn't speak again until the following Thursday only because I would call her). Ultimately, the therapy department is understaffed right now, they told me how desperately they needed my help, and offered me the job on the spot, but they would rather operate understaffed than risk having an employee who advocates for the residents. I am passing this information along to the state too since they are still under corrective actions, but feel it's important that potential employees and residents are aware of the depth of problems here. Other past employee reviews on different websites also echo that anyone who speaks up about treatment of residents is fired, so be prepared to file a whistleblower claim if you take a job here. As someone who rarely reviews places, it really means something that this place made me concerned enough to warn people on several review platforms. I knew that VMP had high turnover in staff, but now I know why.

I was widowed a few years ago, and could no longer maintain our house of 39 years on 1/2 acre. I'd looked into other places, but after having a tour at Westshire, I knew this was it for me. I have friends who've lived here for many years, and I know they're happy, so I had no doubts. There are plenty of activities and some of my friends just love them, although I haven't been active in any. However, I know I can at any time if I want. Community lunches (optional) are served twice a week, and periodic health check services, etc. are available. So, you can choose how active you'd like to be. Personally, I love people and am so glad to stop and chat, but I also cherish solitude. I live in one of the condo units, and have never been bothered by noise from other units. My balcony overlooks the woods, and I love watching the turkeys, sandhill cranes, deer and so many birds. More often than not I 'share' the nature path with the cranes and turkeys. In the winter when the leaves are off the trees, I've got a perfect view of the lake, and can see the ice fishing shanties. I just love it! And I was thrilled to watch Independence Day fireworks from my own living room and balcony, close up and personal! Wow! As I've lived in Delavan for 40 years, one of the pluses for me is to walk to my bank a block away. So I've got the country and town together. I'm in my mid-70's, and I accept that I'll be getting frailer as time passes. There are home health services through the Aurora and Mercy health systems, so that's reassuring to me. I've read the other review here. As I haven't been here long enough to know what happened with the party who had such a nightmare receiving the end of contract money, I would assume this was a one-time debacle, as I've never read or heard of lawsuits against Westshire for reneging on their contracts. This is a nonprofit organization with legal checks and balances, so whatever happened, I sympathize with the party, but can't imagine it's an ongoing problem. Let me end by suggesting that you come and take a tour. Bring a list of questions, concerns, etc. to ask the management. And especially, meet some residents and ask them for their opinions of this place. What do they like about it? And what don't they like (nothing is perfect, so see if there are any grumbles). That would tell you more than any review could possibly state, and you'd then have a much clearer idea of whether you'd like to live here. As for me? This is my beloved home from now the end of my days!

She is completely unresponsive during the process and won't respond to phone calls or emails from past residents or their family inquiring about the status of the re-leasing efforts and their money. In our case, we just learned that they had re-leased my mother-in-law's condo sometime in the fall of 2016 and never sent her the money she was due or contacted her. When we finally sent a threatening letter we got an apology and check in April. We had called Tish numerous times in the intervening months without a return call, yet they claimed they didn't know how to reach us. If this is how they treat a person who used to volunteer every week in the office with Tish, I can't imagine how they would treat a regular resident.

What was cool: - a cord in the bathroom that residents can pull if they are in trouble, an alarm sounds alerting neighbors that someone is in trouble - a giant fish tank and fireplaces in the lobby/center of the complex - a full calendar with things to do almost every day! (games, exercises, church things, etc.) - nice areas with table and books to read, also saw people doing puzzles! - a bus that stops at some local stores (e.g. Sendiks) - a cute little chapel on the first floor - a small convenience store on the first floor that residents procure and sell the inventory for necessity type items - the option to always get a meal for a very reasonable price for seniors who can't or do not want to cook - a hair salon on-site! - friendly residents - super friendly manager, Beth, was absolutely wonderful!!! Rent was in the $600's for a one bedroom and $800's for two. There are about 134 units and they always seem to be at full capacity and have an on-going waitlist. If you or your loved one are considering, at least get on the waitlist asap so that you'll get the call when an apartment becomes available! You can stay on the list if you pass on the first call. Secure your spot with a down payment. Nice place and great options for lots of loving seniors :)

So many "Senior Apartments" are just that apartments to go to when your current living situation is too large or just plain too expensive. The staff at Clare Meadows has succeeded in creating a welcoming home environment. There is as much privacy as you like, or you can be as involved as you want to be. The activities and amenities are superb. Beth Nacker, the manager at Clare Meadows, is one of the most efficient and caring people I have ever met. She manages Clare Meadows with kindness, consideration and has succeeded in making this environment a loving home, not just an apartment setting. There is never a problem that isn't remedied immediately. John, the maintenance person, is one of the most knowledgeable and caring people I have ever met. His "can do" attitude is wonderful!! The residents that have chosen to make Clare Meadows their home are amazing. I don't know how Joe, the owner, and Beth have managed to put together such a group. It is a true community in every sense of the word. There is always a friendly atmosphere, whether just a greeting in the hall or a welcoming gesture to all new arrivals.
