We have always heard good things regarding the reputation of this care facility from others within the community and as it stands Natalie who does in take has made this process, as seem less as possible for our family at this very stressful time!! My grandma was here no longer than 2 weeks. The workers here are terrible they don't care about their patients AT ALL!!! Everyone there is there for a free check. My grandma was released here after have a Quadruple bypass for rehab but instead she got worse. They didn't give her the proper care which resulted and me and my family bumping heads with the staff multiple times and us having to basically do their job on the clock me and my family went up their helping my grandmother til we had to leave. She got a bed sore there, got a bladder infection, her feet swole back up because she wasn't receiving proper therapy or help!! This is a terrible place I wouldn't put my ex's dog in here. -10/10 I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!! read more

Our experience with Luther Manor on behalf of our parents has been just great - especially given our situation was considered "difficult" to start. We have both Dad and Mom, married 62 years who were facing different permanent placements when we discovered we were lucky enough to find Luther Manor with space available. Not only did we find bed space, but in spite of potentially differing level of care needs for one parent vs the other, they worked out a way to keep them together and if things change, even have a plan for helping them continue to spend as much time together as they can. The rooms are very clean and a bit larger than the rooms they came from and they have all sorts of updates and renovations in place with more coming. Clean buildings, gardens and outdoor sitting areas, Lots of activities and a caring professional staff make this an "I can sleep at night knowing my parents are being cared for" kinda place. I understand this is a public forum but the words that comes to mind for this place: SHIT SHOW! Yes the facility is well kept, however the services... (Tuh) they are something to be desired. My family memeber was there and lets just say the experience was terrible. Only to hear her on the phone crying that nurses would ridicule her, talk about her, and half the time, fhey would let her sit because the aides didn't want too come into her room and help. She has told me that nurses, CNA's or whatever title people in that place carried would turn their heads when she would ask for somethimg. It had been times (several) when I would call to get information, or would need for someone to call me back, and all I would get is a day of phone ping pong and several voicemails that went unanswered. Days without medications, horrible services and staff that are rude and lazy. It's sad really- I won't say ALL of them were terrible but for the amount of staff that's employed there, the percentage of good vs. ridiculous is very low. What I want those people to know is this: what if its one of your family members, friends, or whatever it is that has to be in a place thats meant to take care of them, and you get phone calls or witness for yourself the stank ass, rude ass demeanor of some of those employed there, and you find out their being mistreated- you'd be pissed as well, but just remeber we all get older and we're all gonna need some assistance at one point or another. You wouldn't want anyone treating you or making you feel like you'd rather be any place else but there! It's sad and the lady whose voice is on the phone when you call ( what is it Stephaine Shadid) or whatever her name is, should greatly consider revamping the staff. The few that are doing what you should and taking care of the residents like you should as an employee- I thank you. For the rest of the poor excuses that are case and social workers, people who allow their titles to go to their heads, and the lazy M.A.'s, CNA's and whatever other positions you hold here... A very nice, large rehab-assisted living complex. The staff is well trained, respectful and helpful. Very good social entertainment schedule, lots of activity according to interest and ability for residents. It's clean, friendly and comfortable, easy parking for visitors. The restaurants here are more on the healthy rather than tasty side if you know what I mean, but really, that's as it should be. read more

Luther Manor is a retirement community providing apartments for mobile adults and life care facilities including assisted living and nursing care. There are two restaurants in the large complex, one that serves several specified entrees each evening along with a a salad bar and another, Chives, which is a grill providing choices from a menu. Chives is primarily open for resdents only, but others can eat with residents or by special arrangements. The prices are reasonable (for example, $11.95 for an 8 oz sirloin steak or salmon) and the price includes soup or salad, dessert and beverage. I was at Luther Manor for three days in Ocober 2000 after surgery. I was in pain the whole time and the nuses withheld stronger pain medication that my doctor authorrized. I struggle to give even 1 star to this facility. While the facility itself is nice - grounds are well-kept and seems relatively clean -- the important factors are seriously lacking. My parents have lived there for many years and gradually, I have seen a decline in not only what is offered, but also in the level of care provided to Residents. Administratively -- this campus is struggling. I suspect they may have financial issues -- there have been many staff and service changes and cutbacks. There are still some staff members who are kind and professional, but the vast majority exhibit less than an acceptable level of interest in quality of life issues for these seniors -- and family concerns are pushed aside. They truly believe they know and understand their Resident far better than family members, and discredit the input of family. No-one ever answers their phone. Always reaching voicemail - waiting for hours for a return call... and they seem to think that having an expectation for a more immediate response is way over the top. I have had more than one experience where staff has made poor choices in handling circumstances, ie: not contacting family when a resident is transported to the hospital, leaving pills behind when the resident refuses to take them. When administration is notified about these kind of issues- there is always an excuse and the concern gets discredited. Not good. Administration seems disconnected from the realities and challenges that seniors and their families face. My expectation is that people working in this environment should be "consummate professionals" when it comes to addressing and resolving issues and concerns that pertain to the elderly. They should act and react as respected and trusted advisers to their Residents and family members. Dealing with the issues presented with an elderly parent is challenging enough. Made even more complex if you live out-of-state and have to rely on someone there for anything. If you are searching for an environment that will be supportive of you and your loved one while dealing with concerns over your family members well-being and safety in a professional and compassionate manner, this is not the place for you or your loved one.
