I love Lush. What I love even more, the customer service at Lush. I always feel pampered when I go in... usually means that I spend a lot, but the feeling of being pampered is always nice. What floors me is that in my time walking back and forth between my apartment and all the other sites in Florence... I have apparently skipped this entire street. However, there are loads of wonderful stores, cafes, gelateria, etc on this street... and... it isn't completely overrun by tourist groups!
I stopped in, and one of the staff members approached me and asked if I spoke English. Turns out she is British and has lived in Italy for six years now. She was absolutely lovely. We tried a chocolate mask, a cleanser that would be much easier on my sensitive face, moisturizer, and a different toner for summer. She saw that I was a bit warm from walking and offered to use the toner on my face to refresh me. Really, if she wanted to do a full spa, I would have let her!
It was also nice to have a full conversation with someone because we spoke the same language ::insert joke about Americans not speaking proper English here:: She saw my mosquito bites and offered a sample of something with witch hazel and tea tree oil to help soothe the itching. That was lovely. I also tried a lip scrub... which was nice and while it is edible, it is just too sweet! However, they have a coconut oil lip balm that I did try and purchase because I love coconut oil and think it is very versatile and useful, natural product.
I could spend hours in the store letting them try different products on me! I did leave with a sample of their solid lotions, in addition to all of the items I bought. I actually didn't feel overstimulated in this store... music wasn't super loud, it was full of smells, but didn't give me a headache, and it was larger than some of the other stores I've been to which allowed me to move around and take a look at everything. read more
