Contract class = lesson learned…read more Not the experience I was hoping for w young kids. Maybe this was an "authentic" dojang, years ago. Staff is quick on the shaming of parents who work and can't attend every class. Feels like they are trying to "sell" us on something every class even though we pay a monthly fee. Not to mention the fun clause reminding you they will go after you if you ever have circumstances that mean you can't attend anymore. I thought this place was about Discipline and respect. Feels more like they are after people's money instead of doing what's best for their community of families. Owners should be investing in the facility updates that are very needed for safety and cleanliness. Not so honorable in my opinion.

When the pandemic hit, we knew it would be an indication of dedication as to why businesses would step up and answer the call to challenge and diversity or cave to the many existing pressures. The Star team chose to rise up and answer the call, bringing along with them a group of like-minded students. What came out of it was an even stronger team who demonstrated the life skills they taught: respect, discipline, communication & confidence. This weekend our daughter became one of the youngest black belts and has enjoyed being a student and now leader at Star. We can't say enough about Masters Mr. & Mrs. Birky, Ms. Torres, Mr. Cooper, Ms. E & C Gallegos, Mr. Schoettmer, Mr. Hartman & Mr. Hawkins along with all the other instructors who are learning to lead and assist in classes or who may no longer be at Star. We appreciate the practice and effort you've given us, and as newly signed-up parents, we are now looking forward to our journey to black belt as well. Once again, we continue to strongly recommend Star Martial Arts - Elkhart to foster all the important life skills parents are teaching their children.
