From the moment you walk in it's a welcoming serene ambiance. They had a little coffee and tea station set up, it was nice to relax with a mug of tea since I arrived a little early. I had a deep tissue massage from Shantoll and it was the best massage I've ever had in my life! You know those people you meet that have such a kind vibe you instantly feel comfy around them? She was like that! Then during the massage she asked for my feedback on the pressure a couple of times and I appreciated that. I went in there with a stiff painful neck after sleeping wrong and she not only fixed that, she went above and beyond. 24 hours later my whole upper body is more mobile then it's been in forever! She got into tension I didn't even realize I was holding. I highly recommend this spa and while treating yourself to these things is never cheap, Awakenings is definitely on the more affordable side of the spectrum.

Updating my review because they accused me over text and an instagram video of not being truthful,…read moreeven though everything I said in my review is true (and I kept my 5-star review visible rather than just editing it) I found them to not be accommodating which they have every right to do, but that's just not a 5-star customer service experience in my book... What I left out in my 3-star review (which I leave very few of) is that I had asked for my appointment to be at 3:30 so I could get there in time from work, but apparently it was at 3:00 and that's on me! Fortunately I was leaving early anyway and would've gotten there 3:05-3:10 if there wasn't traffic. Unfortunately, the bridge, which is the only way to get there, was functionally closed. I also left out that they asked me to text them proof of traffic, which I found a little odd considering that's publicly available information, and that I had every intention of still getting there so they wouldn't lose any money that day and because I was excited for the appointment! They took over a half hour to get back to me just to say no, I shouldn't come anymore, it would run past closing. Okay! Their choice! But it would've ensured they made the same amount of money that day that they were going to have made if the bridge was open if that was truly a major concern for them. I was really apologetic over text and on the phone because I know this wasn't a good situation for them either. They said they would keep my $50 deposit but that I could use it as a deposit towards a future appointment (and have since told me I should be grateful they didn't charge me a cancellation fee...) but, as she even says in her instagram video about this, they very rarely have sales. I said okay, and I'd wait for a sale! I was fine with that and ready to, after going again, update my review as I usually do when I have new experiences. More significantly, I commented on their instagram video saying it's weird to post a video slamming a customer for a 3-star review, to which someone else said "it's weirder trying to live above your means." The business liked that comment. I found this insulting and unprofessional. I DO have $200 (it's over this amount for a session once you include tax and tip) but I personally don't feel the service warrants $200, hence waiting for a sale to come back. TLDR: I think them liking this comment about me says all it needs to say!

I decided to try this place after not being happy with my previous lash tech and I think it was the best decision I could've made. I've never been so happy with how my lashes come out until now. Juliana is sweet, she was very talkative from the start as if we had known each other for decades. She's professional and very clean. What I love is that she gives me the lash brush after every appointment so I know the tools aren't being reused on clients.
