You enter through a non-descript door off a busy streets and enter a fairly standard dark bar and then it opens up to this surreal patio with an incredible view of a canyon down below. Very good service amidst the hanging plants and flowing water. The drinks were nothing exceptional but definitely worth a visit for the scenery

In the heart of Cambados you find a cute little square called Praza Alfredo Brañas, with a fountain…read moreand palm trees and kids running around at night. Cafeteria Brothers is located at this square. This is a good spot to catch some sun and just sit in the shade and watch Galician life going on. Brothers has the standard things a bar offers: drinks and some little snacks (like crisps). One of the assets bis the snacks you get with your drinks: with only one sparkling water I got nuts, crisps and a bocata (a small bread with a topping). With coffee you get sweet things like pastel. Some days there is a little podium for musicians. There is no tapas menu, so just come here for the drinks! What I like about this square is that you will barely find any strangers (like yourself) and you will be surrounded by locals who go here at night to meet their friends and family. For me a holiday does not get any better, just enjoying these simplicity of normal life: a nice drink, kids laughing, birds chirping, sun on your skin.

It serves the most important food and deliciousness of the region: fish, seafood and meat. Products are fresh and tasty. The prices are really good. The service is super friendly, also to the little customers, who are welcome to come and peek behind the bar or in the kitchen. And if you love cheesecake, you HAVE TO try the homemade torta de queso. There is a cold and a warm (baked) version, of which the cold one is the utmost best. It comes with fresh strawberry jam on the top. One of the best cheesecakes I have ever tasted in my life.

I had decided that I was dehydrated and wanted to go back to my hostel and go to sleep (after all, I was still on my Camino sleep pattern). Against my begging and pleading, my camino family and I stopped in Casas after eating dinner. While grumbling and complaining, I found out that their speciality was GIN -- MY FAVORITE. After drinking two glasses of water first, I had a gin and tonic. Big whoop... right? WRONG! I kid you not, this was the best gin and tonic I've had in my entire life. I went back to Casa Das Crechas three more times before our departure back to the states to have this gin and tonic. I've even been asking every bar tender I meet if they have the gin that this bar used. While they did not have a kitchen or small plates to fill an empty stomach, Casa Das Crechas is a great place to sit down and have after dinner drinks while in Santiago.
