My daughter came home one day crying because she had been talking in P.E, and the teacher started fat shaming her and being hecka rude. my son also had a friend who this happened to, and it's not ok, and this school should be different. the other schools(my kids went to Otis)in the district are fine, but Lincoln? No way. my poor kids were also bullied by the other kids. My son came home once complaining that kids were saying some pretty questionable stuff(the f word, the s word, etc.), and the fact that the teachers are exposing poor 11-14 year olds with this language is not cool.

Most of the teachers come across as rude or just completely uninterested in actually helping students. Instead of encouraging learning, they seem more focused on enforcing pointless rules and making school feel like a punishment. Communication is poor, support is nearly nonexistent, and it feels like no one really listens to students or takes their concerns seriously. It's hard to feel motivated in an environment where you're constantly talked down to or ignored. If you're looking for a positive, respectful, or even just functional school experience -- I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Lotsa sports. A new gym and music room if I'm not mistaken. When I was there, we had a good basketball team, went to state. Student council was fun. Don't hate. School is what you make of it. And St. Joe's gave you those options. Thanks Mrs. Romero, you were always cool and supportive. You can say that Mark Curry from Hangin' with Mr. Cooper went to your school. The…read moreschool is very small, less than a 120 in my senior class, there's a uniform so you save money on buying school clothes and its located in a nice quiet community. The teachers are very friendly , well prepared and care about your future. In my opinion this school prepared me well for college, so the investment in your child's future is worth it. The only bad thing is that we didnt have a football team nor even a field to practice on and the tuition is very expensive now (it was much cheaper back then). If you can afford the $1K or more a month for tuition then I say Go For it!

Back…read morethen, we toured all the elementary schools (public, private, catholic) and, at that time, considered St. Philip Neri and Franklin to be the best. My family is Catholic so SPN edged out Franklin. I should note that I'm an alum of St. Joseph Elementary and also a parishioner of St. Joseph's Basilica, but I preferred the SPN school community and so glad we made the decision to send our kid here. I cannot emphasize enough how much my son loves SPN. Every night we list the 3 best things that happened that day and he consistently says school. The teachers are the best! They're caring and supportive, and the overall school environment is collaborative. I am very proud to send my son to SPN and give it my highest recommendation.

And we only get cash on certain days so call us in the afternoon and you might be able to come by and get your money." "Well can't you set aside the money for me to come by tomorrow and get it?" I have to say that it has been a very positive and educational experience working at Island High. I have found all staff to be supportive and inviting. Some other positive highlights include the weekly meetings with staff in an effort to keep the school climate safe and positive. The meetings alternate between discussing those students who are in danger of not graduating and staff development workshops. Although I have only attending one staff workshop, I have to say that it is a great cooperation between teachers to ensure they are using the best and most effective classroom practices. The staff genuinely care about the care and success of the school. I tend to lean towards teaching opportunities where I am working with students who genuinely need help and who are ready and willing to make the effort to gain the knowledge they need. This school is totally in my realm for it has students who are working towards credit recovery or graduating, and have made it clear they want to obtain this goal in any means possible. It feels great to be a part of that journey and I have Island High to thank for that.
