But I`ll totally come back, for warm or active wear, it`s just the coolest store with prices beyond compare!

The staff is helpful, and will happily break out their (sometimes rusty) English if need be. We mostly shopped in German, but once you start looking for books in English the conversations tend to follow suit. Picked up a new hostel liner for hut-to-hut hikes, didn't find the book we hoped for, and figure I'll be back next time I need some ski gloves.

It's…read morea nice enough Patagonia store, right in the heart of Zurich's shopping district (women's stuff upstairs, men's downstairs). What really puts this place over the top for me was its store dog, a slender brown beauty named Itala who was SO well-behaved she was almost unnatural. She very calmly sat up on her little round red rug while I scratched and pet her and not once did she break her composure--amazing. When it was time to say good bye she just very calmly lay back down on her rug, so very cool. Kudos to these peeps for their lovely store dog policy :)

The sales person who as I see now is the business owner and manager was taking away the boots before I was able to choose, without asking at all. When I asked not to take away, he said that he did not want to rent to me at all. The explanation was "I don't have a good feeling". I left of course and have never experienced anything like this in terms of service in my life. No matter what selection is there, I would not recommend to support a business that does not care about having happy customers. And it comes from the owner!

It's a huge department store in the city center of Zurich with floors of everything from fashion to food. I only visited the food department which is located on the lower level so I can only describe my experience there. There are rows of foods from around the world and a large section of wines from around the world. They also have a decent Swiss wine section. The cheese humidor here is worth just popping into. It had the most amazing variety of cheeses from around the world. The fresh produce is also of the highest quality. There are a handful of restaurants in here serving cuisines from different parts of the world. We visited one called Nippon Sushi and the chef there made us an Omakase menu comprised of the chefs selection of sushi on the day. It was amazingly good and super fresh. You can lock me up in this place and throw the key away :-) an exquisite place to visit, browse and have a meal :-)

At the register, I suddenly remembered that I had some UBS Keyclub points to redeem, so I was able to knock off CHF 20 from the purchase price. Awesome. Then I went upstairs to the always busy m.a.c. cosmetics counter, but a sales associate was quick to help me with my purchase, and then I was merrily on my way. Why do it if you're only half in it? There is a good assortment of sporting goods here, whilst they try to deliver on range; they fail short in delivering. For example, I was looking for 2kg hand weights, and they sold out of every type of hand weights in 2kg. I chased down an employee who just told me sorry no more. That's it. There was no, I'll have a check at the stock room, or oh I'll call the one in Dietlikon to see if they have one, or hey maybe you should go on line and check (they do have a website you can order things from). So I went to Dietlikon location and even worse was despite the fact the store is bigger and in a remote area - they failed short of having any weights nor did anyone bother to help me. I only came here b/c it's so convenient and also a friend gave me a gift card that I wanted to use. I was on a tram today and it went by a Migros SportXX, so I figured I'd check their online store. Their online store is way better than Athleticum's, selection was much more varied and easier to find (the search tool at Altheticum website was not very clear and didn't give the exact search returns, Migro SportXX was a breeze) and the best is - the shipping is "gratis" (free), unlike Athleticum which charged me CHF 7.50 shipping for a similar item I was going to buy at Migros SportXX. So I saved a lot of time traveling to hunt for items while getting free shipping, and earning Migros punkte (points), thanks Migros!

I go there if I need sport shoes, a new badminton racket or things like that. For this kind of products they are very good. In this store they actually have a huge section for women, the men section is quite small in comparison. It located in the Europaalle right next to another big sport shop so if you don't find what you are looking from, just cross the allee :-)
