Luli is one of the many islands on Honda Bay near Puerto Princesa. It's a popular tourist "island hopping" stop of which is how Gayle and I recently visited. The island got its name from the vernacular words: 'lulubog' and 'lilitaw,' which means to submerge and emerge, respectively. During high tide, the tiny island submerges, and during low tide, it appears.
Luli Island has three nice sandbars of which we strolled and waded. There's not a lot of infrastructure here and space is relatively tight. Yet, the sand and views are picturesque. We got here by one of the local tourist boats and almost had to wade in or out. read more
