I found it very nice lufthansa was offering flight vouchers to people affected by the travel ban until I was looking to rebook. I'm not pleased that the price of flights has doubled . I feel like lufthansa is taking advantage of people . I don't feel like i should have to pay another $1,500 for the exact same flight on the same dates to and from the same airports. I understand airlines have been affected by the pandemic but so has everyone else and to raise the prices like this is very unfair seems like price gauging to me . Right now I'm very unsatisfied with this airline . Not only did I never receive any email correspondence that my voucher went thru I had to call and be on hold for 2 hours ! This price increase is just the icing on the cake !

I paid Premium Economy for a Flight from Denver CO to Frankfurt, Germany. When I arrived at the airport my wife and I were involuntarily downgraded to Economy without compensation. I have since contacted their customer care four times without receiving compensation for the downgrade. EC 261, Article 10 clearly states we should receive compensation based on the distance traveled. In our case it is 75 percent of the cost of the ticket. It has been three weeks and I am still waiting. read more

We flew from Rome to Frankfurt, and then Frankfurt to Boston, on Lufthansa. The problem started right at the airport at the baggage drop off. We were allowed one checked bag and one carry-on bag each. The morning of our flight, we got an email from Lufthansa saying that we could check our carry-on bags for free because there was not much room in the overhead bins in the cabin. A very rude attendant at the baggage drop off desk, insisted that we owed €100 for excess baggage. We showed her the email from the airline, stating that we could check the carry-on bags for free. She would not budge and kept insisting that we owed €100 before we boarded the flight. We paid it with the intention of disputing it later. We have made several calls and emails to Lufthansa with no satisfication. They are refusing to refund us the €100 that we were wrongly charged for the nonexistent "excess baggage". Things just kept getting worse from then on. The flight to Frankfurt left late and we almost missed our connecting flight. The staff in flight were terribly rude. I pre-ordered an allergy meal that would be non-gluten and nondairy, and there was not one thing on that flight that I could eat. First they served crackers and I asked for a gluten-free snack. They said they didn't have any. The main meal was gluten-free but had cheese all over it. I tried to send it back and explain that this was not safe with my food restrictions, and the flight attendant just said, "No! I can't be bothered with that now. I have to go serve other people". Later they served a panini that was gluten and cheese ridden, and when I asked if there was an alternative for me, they said, "No. We don't have that". So for the entire eight hour flight, I had nothing to eat. Also, the only bathroom was down a set of narrow metal steps. Then when we arrive in Boston, we realize a piece of our luggage is missing. A few days later they did deliver it to our address. Five days later, I am still corresponding with them about getting the refund for the €100 for excess baggage that we did not have. Now they claim one bag was overweight. That was never mentioned at the drop off, and we know for certain that it was not, because we weighed it before the flight and it met the weight restrictions. I did not choose this airline. We booked through Celebrity Cruises, and I have reported all of this to them also. I would never recommend Lufthansa or fly with them again. The whole experience was a nightmare. read more

Disheartened that even when 50 plus ppl waiting in economy. The attendants flag forward the 1 person in buisness. It's been over 30 minutes I'm standing here. I get they pay more but we matter too. Please do better. Thank you. read more

Be sure you know what you are getting when you book with Lufthansa. Flew to/from Europe Business Class for 2 for $10,000. What I thought was a good airline was NOT. Seems Lufthansa switches one to DISCOVER, their low bid airline, which they brag as Excellent! Paying that kind of money for two 85 year olds to have to walk a long way to board a bus, walk up/down numerous flights of steps to get to runway area to board plane, climb up & then down the airline staircase with luggage is difficult on all flights for most people. Remember, low bid airlines don't come into the actual terminal. The Lufthansa Club in non-existent with no sharing of Clubs with other airlines or is miles away from the low bid DISCOVER terminal (Frankfort) , making it impossible to utilize the Club on a Business Class ticket. They switched our tickets on one leg to lesser seat with no explanation, no apology and no getting what we thought we were getting. The Business Class seats/beds are antiquated and miserably uncomfortable. I am 4'11" and small. My hips barely fit on the bed, jamming into their side console. My large husband was miserable...We fly internationally 3-4 times a year and never EVER had such a bad airline and poor experience for so much money. Sign me Livid, Baited & Switched and NEVER AGAIN. My flight pulled out at exactly, to the seconds, to the time on the boarding pass. I was impressed. I was on a short flight between Munich and Berlin and it was probably on the air only for 50 minutes. Nevertheless the flight attendants were able to serve us cookies and drinks to a packed flight within that window of time - efficient! read more
My flight from Berlin to London was cancelled by British Airways when I arrived at Tegel, and it wasn't until then that I was told of this change. Lufthansa got me the next flight to London with no problem and quickly, and the desk assistants were extremely kind and helpful. The flight was probably the best flight I ever had. I had my own row in the front. There was a lot of leg space and room. The snacks were good. Although we were flying through the Netherlands in the rainstorm, there was no turbulence. Hands down my favorite airline. The service, cleanliness, and timeliness of Lufthansa is well above any other airline I have ever flown. The service from check-in to landing was top notch. The seats were very comfortable. The in flight entertainment system was excellent, with many options. The flight attendants made the ride enjoyable, and their delivery of food and beverages was incredibly efficient. I have not encountered another airline as good as Lufthansa when it comes to the enhancing the experience of the passenger, regardless of what class they have chosen to fly. Thanks for the great experience and I look forward to my next Lufthansa flight. read more

Check in process was easy and quick, once we learned how to use the check in machine (it was our first time, and there was a staff member assisting). Crew was efficient and professional and provided a full flight full service in less than two hours flight time. Something all major US carries should learn from. Baggage retrieval was quick and easy. Looking forward to my next flight with them. read more

" Just imagine a old, plump German woman with a obtrusive accent scurrying down the aisle draped in mustard yellow, saying that for 30 minutes in possibly the most irksome voice you will ever hear. Not a jolly-ol'-fun time when a quarter of your 2 hour red-eye from Barcelona to Frankfurt is taken up by that, is it now! Coffee was shit. Cookies were shit...but what do you expect! It's a airline, we're not dining at the Maze. ;o All in all, not a bad airline, it's much better than flying with Air Canada...well any airline is better than Air Canada. Hah! There was enough leg-room and the seats were comfortable. *And I like the Deutsche, just not that particular lady.* ;) read more
I have travelled in both business and economy class on this airline. Business: Absolutely the very best travel experience I have ever had during long hauls. Spacious seating that reclines into a bed, gourmet menu hot meals with dessert made by executive chef, champagne and cocktails, movies, toiletry set with slippers/sleep mask/earplugs/blanket/full pillow/headset, around the clock attendant service. Economy: Specious seating, courteous friendly service, standard cold meals and beverages... It's still a very good travel experience for long hauls compared to other major airlines. read more

This was my first and last time I will use Lufthansa! I had a ticket on Brussels Airlines which cancelled my flight. Brussels Airlines after an hour wait told me to goto gate A10 which I did and when I got there, no one was there. I waited and waited not knowing if I was going to miss my flight and then I walked over to Lufthansa ticket window. When I got there I had explained to the lady in her 60s what was going on and she said and I quote "How is this my problem?" I told her the Brussels Airlines had rebooked me in Lufthansa as far as I knew. She asked me what was the new confirmation code and I told her I didn't have one, that I was told to goto A10 and someone would help me but since no one was at A10 I came here. She then told me and I quote again, "You're not even our customer, I shouldn't have to work this hard." I told her that if Brussels Airlines booked me on Lufthansa and a ticket is in my name I am YOUR CUSTOMER!" She found the reservation and told me to goto A8 which I did. A very nice lady in her late 20s or early 30s was very nice and very accommodating. Needless to say 1 out of 2 people who work at Lufthansa is NOT good odds! You'll NEVER see me on Lufthansa ever again! read more

I would like to give them ZERO STARS. We flew flight 1220 on 8/10/15 from LAX-MUN, and when we had a hard landing, the curtain rod holding the curtain separating bus class from econ class broke off and struck me & my husband on the back of the head. My spouse was fine; I required medical assistance and was ultimately stitched up after bleeding profusely all over the seat and my clothes. We missed our connecting flight to Berlin, a dinner cruise (paid for and NONREFUNDABLE) and after a week without hearing ANYTHING from LUFTHANSA, I started trying to see what the hell was up (we were taken care of brilliantly by the crew). My husband was given a card from an 'incident manager' (Hans Ranier Zangl), and I emailed him 5x, and heard nothing. Then I took to google to find another customer service conduit, & I heard back from a USA rep (Delia Mancini) within 30 min (she quickly sent an email and said they had been 'trying' to contact us. Nice try. After assuring me that our needs would be met, she said to hold onto my dry cleaning bill (I had forwarded the bill from the dinner bait cruise), and it would be turned over to insurance. No thanks. We want our flight refunded. I haven't heard back from Ms Mancini unless I hound her - then she weakly tells me she is 'sorry' we aren't happy with their 'attempts' to take care of us. They suck. read more

Desaster, und kein Antwort... Booking nr. 8U6ZA7 !!!! SERIOUS COMPLAINT: EXPEDITE. With less than one hour before our taxi arrived to take us to the train to an airport hotel, I went on line to ckeck in for our flight Munich-Perugia. It had been cancelled. WE WERE NEVER NOTIFIED! I called your "hotline" and waited for 25 minutes while being told I would be helped "in a moment". Please try to imagine the state of mind of a stroke and heart patient staring at a cancellation notice for a next day's flight for nearly half an hour. When a young man at last answered, I was told that there must have been "ein technisches Problem", and that he would be back in a moment. After another five minutes of agonized waiting, he told me all he could do was book me to Rome, with transportation to Perugia "auf eigener Verantwortung". I tried to respond to this astounding news by explaining that European law requires the booking airline to furnish fastest transportation to the original destination, or face stiff penalties. He admitted there were flights available, but he said they "would not accept LH tickets". I explained that this was completely irrelevant, that it was LH's responsibilty to get me to Perugia, but all he said was, "Kann ich nicht machen." With the taxi by this time waiting at the door, I accepted a rebooking to Rome. During our train ride from Würzburg to Munich I was able to cancel some hotels, but not all. We would never fly from Munich in the first place; the airport hotel (prepaid) and the first class train ticket (prepaid) were because of this flight to Perugia, which is otherwise difficult to reach. It was clear that our carefully arranged week in four Umbrian cities, with important research in my field of art history, was wrecked. After this disaster I was in no condition to travel. We took an expensive last-minute hotel in Rome, where we stayed all week, at greatly increased expense, mostly recovering from one of the worst days of my life. In fifty years of air travel all over the world, I have never experienced such a catastrophic failure on the part of an airline. You failed to notify us of a cancellation which had occured long previously, you did not comply with the law, the service offered was worse than abysmal. My life has undoubtedly been shortened by the terrible stress involved. My lawyer informs me that I can take LH to a court of law for very considerable damages, but I want to give LH the chance to do the right thing. What do you intend to do about this? To: Carsten Spohr CEO Von-Gablenz-Straße 2-6 50679 Köln, Germany Dear Mr. Spohr, On July 3, 2016, I sent the first letter by email to you, Mr. Carsten Spohr, CEO of Lufthansa. In this letter I asked you to make sure that my return ticket to ... is not cancelled because I was not able to return to ... on March 30, 2016 because of my medical condition. Currently I am still in rehabilitation in two hospitals here in Toronto, Canada in order to recover from my brain injury and brain operation that followed. For some unexplainable reason, the response that came from you indicated that you could not find my name in the passengers' list of the flights I took with your airline even though I have provided you with my full first and last name, the flights dates, and the flights numbers. I must say that in this time of terrorism, it is worrisome that you were not able to find me in the list of the passengers. Today (July 22, 2016) at 5:00pm I called the Lufthansa Reservations Centre of Peterborough Ontario Canada. The phone number I called was 1-800-563-5954 and I spoke with ... (agent sign: ..., location call centre: ...). I gave him my full first and last name, the flights dates, and the flights numbers. I asked him to give me my flight ticket number based on the information that I provided him. He could not find my name in the passenger lists of these flights. He was able to find out that I have been on these flights only after I actually provided him with my ticket number. Lufthansa is the largest airline in Europe. It is truly very disturbing to find out that safety concerns are not on the top of the list of Lufthansa. In addition, there was a delay of the flight from Frankfurt to Toronto due to mechanical problems with the airplane. I had to stay overnight in Frankfurt before continuing my journey to Toronto while I was after brain injury and in need of medical attention. In addition, when I called the Lufthansa Reservations Centre of Peterborough Ontario Canada before my return flight to ... which was scheduled for March 30, 2016, they were rude when I asked them to postpone my flight back to ... because all my doctors in Canada advised me to continue with treatment for rehabilitation before I return to ... I did not have the strength at the time to argue with the people of Lufthansa Reservations Centre. In addition, after a few reminders from me by email, you responded to my request by asking me for information stating that you could not find me in the passengers list of flight ... that left ... to Frankfurt on February 23, 2016 and you could not find my name on the passenger list of the flight that left to Toronto from Frankfurt. You asked me to provide you with my ticket number or the reservation code. On July 15, 2016 I sent you my Lufthansa itinerary which includes the booking reference and the ticket number and my boarding ticket from Frankfurt to Toronto which includes the ticket number. I have not heard from you yet despite the fact that I have sent you several reminders. In addition, as I have stated previously in my two letters to you, I will provide you with all necessary medical documentation from my doctors in Canada and in ... I think that any other airline would have postponed my flight due to my serious medical condition and given all the difficulties that your airline has caused me, I would expect a compensation too. DONT FLY LUFTHANSA !!!!! The most arrogant pieces of crap work the counter at the baggage claim. They lost my luggage and sent me home (to my hotel) with a reference number. The arrogant and rude guy who worked the corner counter told me to check with the reference number online of the status. I get to the hotel and it says my Luggage is ready or pick up so I returned to the airport. I was sent to the same arrogant/rude guy who then said that's not correct and my luggage is still in Frankfurt. I left AGAIN empty handed. I called the number online and asked them to ship it to my hotel, they said it will take 2-3 days. It's been 4 days I called back just now for a woman to tell me it was marked for pick up !????? The customer service is by far the worst I've ever had to deal with and I travel A LOT. Lufthansa is the worst and will not ever receive my business again. The nasty woman on the phone then said we can send it out now if you want . Obviously, cause I would never return to this arrogant prick at the counter . She said it will take 2-3 days again. DO NOT EVER FLY LUFTHANSA !!! Believe me, these people have no respect and absolute zero professionalism working at the baggage lost and found counter. They are absolute criminals. This joke of a human being in this picture refused to hand me over my luggage because " I was too upset " Of how how lazy he worked. The audacity to sit there with his arrogant smile While myself and many other passengers were extremely frustrated how they have been misguided and mistreated is mind blowing. Lufthansa Phone Number @l 8^5^5 948 3-6-6-5!!! What can I say, almost got stranded in Cancun, Mexico due to the Coronavirus and the USA cancelling my Esta last minute and have just safely made it back home after many hours travelling. Hermillo on the Lufthansa desk in Camcun went above and beyond, trying everything under the sun to get me home. He managed to get Me a seat home via Mexico City to London Heathrow, just had to organise a flight myself back to Ireland then. Even though I am sure that there were many many Lufthansa customers in the same situation, this did not in any way negatively affect the service received or the resources put into trying to get me home safely despite the long queues forming behind me. do not fly with lufthansa !!!! they will lose your luggage and the luggage service in berlin tegel/brandenburg is the worst people youll ever have to deal with. disgusting human beings !!!! they lie to you saying the luggage is somewhere else eventho its in the airport. there was a chubby guy, one really arrogant prick, who lied and said that our luggage never made it with the plane and sent us home, but then two hours later on the website it says our luggage was there. when we returned that same prick sent us home again saying the update is wrong. its been 5 days !!!!! our luggage is still not delivered ! worst airline ever never again read more

I Booked Flight Ticket Through Lufthansa +1-855-948-3661 for my whole family. Been a while since I've updated my review. This flight was just a good as the last flight. Didn't get warm washcloths before they served breakfast but that's alright. Breakfast was pretty good. They also gave us cinnamon rolls which smelled and tasted so yummy! Flight attendants were friendly and attentive. Almost got delayed several times due to the weather but pilot kept everyone informed and we were only behind schedule about 30 minutes.
