Dr. Allen had stated his hips were not inline and causing him pain which was why my son didn't want to walk. After a month my son was running as fast as a 1yr old could go. After this I was very impressed. I have brought in all my children when they have felt sick or for ear infections. Dr Allen has cured their ear infections faster than the antibiotics everytime where I don't even bother using that medicine. Whenever my kids are sick their first response is to ALWAYS come here. My children trust him and love him which is important for a child to trust their dr. I went here 100% during my last pregnancy (4th child) and was rarely sick. I went the last couple weeks of my pregnancy and asked for adjustments and acupuncture to help with labor pain as I was trying to deliver with out any medication and wanted to do things naturally. I fully truly believe that these adjustments and treatments by Dr Allen helped me reach my goal of delivering naturally. He's helped me with my migraines with helping boost my milk production while breast feeding and is truly caring of each of his patients. I have always asked him random questions and if he didn't know the answer he found one for me that helped with my personally adjustments or that for my children. I will ALWAYS recommend Dr Allen. First let me say that I've had over 100 massages with over 30 different practitioners over the past 20 years (in California mostly, but in various other states as well) and request deep tissue work every time. I've only had 3 masseuses in Ames so far, but Cassandra was clearly outstanding (I gave my two other masseuses here 2/5 stars). Not only was she experienced and skilled, she actively applied her knowledge to great effect during the massage - paying attention, investigating, and reacting. Cassandra used superior hand/finger techniques and I don't remember her ever using her elbows (which is a shortcut most masseuses resort to, but which is avoided by the "top 2%" of masseuses). My son has been seeing Dr. Donahue the past couple of weeks. I have been extremely impressed with both of them. Their initial diagnoses have been pretty spot on, and the treatments are amazingly effective. Both doctors really seem to understand all sports and how the body needs to function to do them. My daughter is in competitive cheerleading. My son...baseball. I've never heard either kid complain about the appointments and they usually walk out feeling pretty good about what had just happened. I've never been a huge believer or fan of chiropractors. I always had the impression that once to go, you'll be going for the rest of your life. But I don't get that seem feeling here. And perhaps it's the sports medicine aspect these two being to their practice. They want you healed up and back to normal as quickly as possible. I've never felt them try to get us back for appointments that were not warranted. Easy 5 stars for this practice.
