A new & super promising company! They support ethical labor practices & use sustainable fabrics.
Although I write this review from across the pond, it's great Lucy & Yak opened a brick & mortar shop, so their local customers can see for themselves how the fit & quality are prior to a purchase.
I wish I could utilize the opportunity to see their clothes in person first-- It would've saved me the hassle of returning not-as-expected items during a holiday (AKA nightmare) season for using the postal service. A request for streamlining future returns: offer a flat-rate return shipping label for international orders. (It seems that return shipping, but free, is offered to UK customers.)
When it doesn't fall too utterly into 90's style, I like Lucy & Yak's laidback fun aesthetic. But if the fit is wrong, then "laidback" easily becomes sloppy/frumpy. And because some of their fabrics (all the ones I tested) are stiff, there's less tolerance for fit mismatches. Also different styles are differently baggy; so read their fit notes carefully & ask questions!
Anyway, if you can visit their store first, then do.
BTW, their online customer service is friendly. And they have some interesting blog posts about their challenges & progress with ethical clothing production. read more
