I Guess Shame On Us…read more.. 4 maybe years ago, we went to golf at the Hadley Acres Golf Course. I was RUDELY tuned away because I had on a very expensive golf skirt and a very expensive collared sleeveless shirt. While a guy was teeing off on #1 with cut off jean shorts and a t-shirt. I only say very expensive because it was, and it was appropriate, classy, and worn at many nice golf establishments with nothing said to me. SOOOOO Against our better judgement and out of sheer convenience, Kevin and I called around 1pm today 5/22/23 inquiring if we could golf 9 holes around 6pm. We were told there was a league, we didn't need a tee time and to come on out and we could golf the front 9. Perfect! We show up. Kevin unloads our clubs and I go in to pay for golf. Once stared at rudely and eye hawked by what appeared to be kitchen staff, I'm asked if I called earlier I say yes, I did. I stated when I called that we were told we didn't need a tee time and we could go off the front 9. The woman at the counter rolled her eyes copped an attitude and then stated "you're the one who just called and cussed/chew me out". I said NO..... I called this afternoon.... Basically she told me there was a league and it would be slow play and we can't play. So I will NEVER!! AND I MEAN NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN!!! I also urge fellow golfers to not support this family owned business. They are rude, demeaning, and not only once but twice been treated poorly!!

This charity poker room is open from Wed through Saturdays. On Wed through Fri, it has holdem…read moretournaments that are scheduled to start at 7pm but usually start by 7:10 or 7:15. The Wed and Fri tournaments offer re-buys and as a result, some players keep going all in until they get traction. While the entry fees are affordable at $10 to $20 on those nights, I've seen some players invest $200 in one game including re-buys. If you find that hard to compete with, you might want to enter a Thursday night tournament when you can only enter once for $30. They also have a $100 to $150 holdem tournament around 6 pm on the last Saturday of each month. Most all players are very nice as are all the dealers. Some dealers are rookies so you have to be patient. It is like your friendly home game when it comes to atmosphere, the manager's dog roams around for you to pet, free bottled water and popcorn, free pizza around 9 pm on Thursday nights (not other nights as action is too slow). As is true more and more, don't under estimate the players. If you want 100% poker etiquette followed, you ought to go downtown. They also have a big Pot Limit Omaha game on Thursdays where a lot of regulars start showing up around 5:30 to 6 PM. The max buy in is $200, but some bring $1,000 to $2,000 to continue buying in until their game gets traction. After a couple hours, there will most always be a couple players with $1,000 to $2,500 in front of them. The cash Hold-em games are not big on Wed Thurs and Fri. I have not visited on a Saturday.

If you are attending a hockey game here, the main things you want to be aware of are: 1) It's freezing inside. Even by ice arena standards, it's quite cold and there is no radiant heating system. Bring some gloves and a blanket. 2) The lighting is just so-so, but the sight lines are great. Plenty of good seating and standing options. 3) Quality of ice is very good, benches are clean and decent sizes. 4) Locker rooms are tiny, a Pee Wee or larger team is going to need 2 rooms (adjoining rooms share a shower). This rink is home to a few famous players, most notably Tim Thomas and Brian Rolston among other, mostly college players. I was an amazing rink when it was built, but now it's mostly just a community rink with a snack bar, skate rental, etc. I don't think it has Live Barn, but it did have wifi.
