Yes yes yes YES. After a long journey and a rather severe hangover, all I wanted to do was curl up…read morein a ball and eat Chinese food in by hotel room. Luck would have it that just round the corner was one of the best Cantonese restaurants in the city - mother may I?! Yes I may! So I ordered pretty much as much as I could. Starting with the prawn dumplings and Sui mi - the prawn dumpling were made to perfection fluffy on the outside and a large prawn in the middle. The Sui mi too were very meaty and exactly what I'd want and expect. Next the meat spring rolls - really great size and absolutely packed with rich meaty goodness. One of my favourite dishes by far. Then a quarter duck with all the trimmings. The quarter duck was a large portion and was perfectly crispy with beautifully textured meat once you broke through the skin. Delicious. Lastly a special chow mien with a side of curry sauce (I love my curry sauce). The chow mien was a drastic ratio meat and veg to noodles - the prawns in particular were huge. Not overly greasy and there was no lack of sauce either. The curry save for me was a tad on the coconut side but this was Cantonese curry not Chinese so it worked. For all this plus a sweet and sour chicken and a steak in Cantonese sauce it came to £50. Which is an absolute bargain if you ask me - all the portions were large and of a fantastic quality and if I ever head to the area again I would definitely return for a sit down meal. A true must if in the area.

I remember when The Talent House first opened in Benllech & it was THE best Chinese on the whole…read moreisland. However, in the last few years I have become less and less of a fan. First of all, the food - it has always been & still is very good food. I would still put The Talent House in my top 3 Chinese food restaurants - & I've been to a good few around the country ;) It's just a shame that in the last few years the prices have rocketed right up - you'll pay roughly £9.00 for a chicken chow mein sitting IN the restaurant & £6.00 for it to Take Out (the worst thing is, it's EXACTLY the same portion you get to take out as it is to sit in & it doesn't look any fancier when sitting in. Like I said before, I can't fault the food - sometimes (mainly during high season) there is a difference in the portion you get when ordering to take away. It is almost as if they have rushed & only filled your carton half-full. Be sure to order a good hour before picking up during the summer weekends especially bank holidays as they do get VERY busy! The one thing that has kept me from giving this restaurant 5 stars is the restaurant itself. A few years back it used to be a VERY nice place to sit inside - I didn't mind paying because it was so nice. However, last time I visited with my partner, they had upturned tables at the back of the room (in full view of people dining). One woman, who worked there was changing an infants nappy in the corner & we were listening to Radio One through the speakers rather than the chinese music they normally used to play. The lady who served us was lovely as are all the staff - but they weren't dressed for work at all (more casual). The small drinks bar has also been opened now so that the public can come in for a drink. I personally think this drags the place down even more because it's only a medium sized room, so while your trying to enjoy your meal, you can see & hear the drunks by the bar which isn't nice if you're with a family. I would say that this IS the place to come if you want a Take Away or a sit in with friends or a partner - but for a special occasion head up the road a few miles to Jade Village, Menai Bridge - in mine & many of my friends' opinions the BEST chinese on the island. Lovely restaurant inside, great food at a good price & great customer service.

I've been to the Talent House on many occasions & have always received fantastic food & service…read more I'd recomend this restaurant to anyone local or visiting. The menu & drinks are reasonably priced also. The only downfall is that the toilets are situated up a flight of stairs which may not be suited to all as they are also quite steep.
