What a pleasant surprise in Sebring, FL! While visiting family in the area, my sister insisted we…read morego to the Highlands Art League gallery. Gallery? In Sebring? My sister said she went there every time she visited grandma. Who knew there was a gallery, so we said okay and went. What a lovely place! A lot of artists have retired in Sebring and operate this small gallery and also teach classes. We had a wonderful tour by one of the artists, met another one working on a beautiful painting and ended up buying a small oil of a chicken for the kitchen and a painted tile for fun. The art is a nice mix, the gallery has an entire area dedicated to a specific local artist each month (and a wine and cheese reception too), and the prices are reasonable. Check it out next time you are in Sebring - I know we will!

After finding that he closed his business (the day of my session) I decided that it wasn't good business practice to not contact his customers and inform them of this. After searching for him, I found him on facebook and requested a refund. He is refusing to refund my deposit even though he closed his business. A business that closes its doors is obligated to refund deposit for service. I understand he is practicing under someone else however it still doesnt give him a right to keep the deposit. That business is closed and any contract I signed is null and void.

The owner's wife made an appointment for me with Joe. He listen to my idea, drew it out and made it a reality. I was a bit apprehensive regarding the possible pain but to my surprise it wasn't that bad. I would recommend the shop and especially Joe hands down.

Location- With so many buildings it can be a little overwhelming. Let your GPS do its thing along with the picture I posted, and you'll have no trouble spotting it. Plenty of easy parking. Time Commitment- This is a small museum. Ninety minutes and most folks will be done. What to Expect- As the name suggests, expect the focus to be on Florida including the artists. It's a great way to learn about this wonderful state! Cost- Every time I have been here it has been free with donations requested. Hours- Extremely limited. Check first before you go. This is not a "Destination" location. It's the kind of place you visit when you are in the area and have a few minutes. Yelp will give you plenty of places for lunch within five minutes of here. What a great place to walk off that huge platter of Gator Bites & giant pitcher of beer!
