We did 3 days in advance. Still evicted. The run around when we called with the proof they cashed it and then hung up on. A family member had loaned the money to us, with a check that had a tracker on it. The bank had it investigated and my family member got a check back in full, but I still lost my home and now have bad credit. If I could give a negative review I would.

In order to pay online, they now require you to surrender your user name AND password to a third party so they can "link" your accounts. Amazing as the first thing in their own security guidance states to "never give out your account user name and passwords to any one for any reason"!!!! The excuse is "upgrading". The real reason is they want to force you to establish an account and deposit your money in their bank so you can then make your payment transactions. They will then have your cash at their disposal while also benefitting from the interest you are paying to use YOUR money. Think before you deal with this financial institution and then turn and run out the door. This has been an issue for 2 years.

I gave 21st 3 stars only because my loan closed on time and funded as expected. I am spoiled because I have dealt with some 5 star companies that went above and beyond. I can't say the same for 21st, and to be honest, they were not my first choice. Because I have an older mobile home, they were pretty much my only choice, so I was completely at their mercy. Their communciation can use a lot of improvement. Delays ensued because I wasn't informed of needed documents until the very last minute. If I had known certain documents were needed to close, I would have obtained them at the very beginning. As I stated, I am familiar with the process, so these documents were a surprise to me. I did a cash out refinance to buy out my ex husband's equity in our house and I had to constantly remind 21st that dollar amount going to him had to be set and couldn't be lowered for any reason. I needed anything additional rolled in to the loan. I had to state this more than once during the process. With the cash out I was also paying off two debts. Instead of the escrow company sending the payments directly to the debtors, which I had the understanding they were going to do, they sent the checks to me. I in turn had to forward the checks on to the debtors. This delayed the pay off for both of those debts, however, thankfully, they were made in time. This was an escrow company that 21st chose. The whole process was incredibly stressful and I lost a lot of sleep over it. Much of that could have been avoided if 21st had better communication with me from the onset. Overall, I don't believe I would recommend them to anyone else.

When she came on the call the reception faded. Then I was basically talked to like a child and was told that I was acting childlike. This gaslighted the situation further. In my 59 years of living, I have never been talked to in that manner by customer service. If this is the way 21st Mortage treats its customers I would suggest you do business elsewhere.

The service I received from Lisa was beyond the worst thing that happened to me during my home scouting process. Our first meeting she asked me my preferred method of communication, but she never abided by this and would call and text me continuously, even though I prefer email communication. If I didn't answer a phone call because I was teaching or in a meeting she would get passive aggressive and immediately resort to harassing me via text message, voice mail, or email. It was jarring coming out of a work meeting and seeing her rude texts. I am also a first time home buyer so I do not know much about this process, but Lisa had no sympathy nor understanding. I didn't even start talking to other lenders about interest rates before Lisa harassed me about how I was probably shopping around for other lenders. It was absolutely unprofessional and extremely passive aggressive. I cannot believe someone like this works in a public facing role because she was absolutely a nightmare to work with. I asked the two ladies in this useless credit union if my son could sit there in their chair for five minutes until I got that CD to take to Vanderbilt Hospital and they said no. My son has double pneumonia. And is scheduled for open heart surgery at Vanderbilt in a few weeks so I didn't think it was too much to ask if I (he) could borrow the chair for five minutes so that he didn't have to walk with me since he was out of breath. If it wasn't so sad, it would almost be funny at how cruel people are these days.With that said I'm going to make certain that every family member I have remove themselves from this credit union since they are so heartless and inhumane. They are helpful and friendly, and you can actually get a live person on the phone. They are good at listening to your needs and finding solutions rather than just saying "we don't really have that." The main branch on White Ave can issue ATM cards immediately, and the Franklin Square branch has Saturday hours.
