We made an appointment and the lady was very nice. After we provided all the necessary paperwork and went through our taxes we paid and left. Just like any other year. We owed money and paid our 2018 taxes on the IRS website. Fast forward to 2020, we received a letter from the IRS saying we never filed our 2018 taxes, which were supposed to be submitted electronically via Edwards Tax. I called Edwards Tax and they told me I paid to have my taxes done but not filed. I do not understand what they were talking about and looked over my 2018 return. I confirmed that we paid to have them done and FILED. Edwards Tax said they would try to "resubmit" electronically but wouldn't be able to because they were already filed. While on the phone with them they resubmitted it and guess what? IT WENT THROUGH!! Simply they forgot to file our taxes and lied about the service we paid for. They also could not provide a electronic receipt for the tax submission. Not only that, we had to mail our taxes to the IRS and resubmit form Schedule A because they never even did it. I contacted the IRS and asked about the electronic submission and IRS confirmed they were never submitted. Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. Way better off going through a legit business and actual tax professionals.
