We were able to make some pleasant small talk even with the English-Japanese language barrier, and Hibiki was very attentive to making sure my hair was cut and styled in a flattering way that added volume! (I had let him know I struggled with my hair sitting flat) I would definitely come back!! For anyone looking to book here that doesn't speak Japanese, I would advise you make sure you have clear reference photos of the type of cut you want--preferably from multiple angles. Don't be afraid to ask questions, bust out Google Translate, and make gestures for what length you want your hair at!

Our appointment was at 2:00 PM. We arrived on time. Stephanie was still with her previous client and told us she was "almost done." My mom wasn't seated until 2:50 PM, and Stephanie didn't start on her hair until 3:15 PM. We were at the salon for 3.5 hours, over an hour of it spent waiting -- with no apology or communication, just repeated "five more minutes" while she kept working on the other client and ignored us completely. The bigger issue was the attitude once she did start. We knew our inspiration photos might not be fully achievable, and we said so -- we just wanted professional guidance on what could work. Instead, Stephanie focused almost entirely on what couldn't be done, to the point where it felt like nothing could be done. It was discouraging and honestly depressing. A stylist's job isn't just to list limitations -- it's to help clients find the best option for the hair they have. My mom also asked if she could color her hair, time permitting. Stephanie said no immediately, citing other clients and the fact that only a haircut was booked -- despite the appointment already running over an hour late because of her. Ironically, since she ended up only trimming my mom's hair, she did have time to color it after all. At the end, Stephanie apologized for running late and for her attitude. I appreciate that, but it doesn't change the experience. To be clear: the issue was never that certain styles weren't possible. We understood that going in. The issue was the lack of professionalism, communication, and customer service. I hope this pushes the salon to be more respectful of clients' time and more supportive in these moments. We wanted to give them a second chance and went back again today. I showed the stylist a photo of a K-pop star with a bowl haircut. With immediate frustration she shouted the style was too long and not possible. My son's hair was very long and has had a bowl haircut for the last year or so. She pointed to random customer's haircuts around the barbershop and shouted if I wanted a haircut like them. The haircuts were completely different being short back and sides and a curly "alpaca" haircut. I asked for the last haircut they had given but a little longer. She agreed but essentially gave him short back and sides, not a bowl haircut. I paid and told her about the cut ear last time and that this and being shouted at today was not acceptable and that we would not be back for the next haircut. She continued to argue and essentially shouted us out of the barbershop. We also had to wait an hour for service which ideally we would have been advised of on arrival. Frustratingly customers who booked ahead could cut the line although when we had booked ahead on our first visit we were told to just write down our name and join the line. We were also told to sit at the back on the shop then were juggled from seat to seat as they needed to wash and dry J&J seem to do a roaring trade and their prices are very good but if you want decent service and a decent haircut, I do not recommend.
