The service provided at the Miami Lakes Nicklaus Urgent care Center was poor, lazy and…read moredisrespectful. They don't care about the patient, and they don't pay attention to the cues given by parents. I don't understand how they promote preventive care and being proactive if when you are proactive and try to prevent they don't pay attention to you. The type of care they provide is not what they promise. I took my daughter twice for consistent fever, the second time they did exactly the same as the first one. I asked for more testing to try to check on the reason and they refused. Additionally they tricked me saying they will see what could be done and the next thing I knew was that my daughter was being discharged. The doctor was extremely condescending. He should not be a doctor, made me feel like I was overreacting and overprotective. Long story short I took my child to a diff provider and with a simple x-ray they were able to tell she had pneumonia. This new provider agreed that when a fever is consistent for so many days you need to rule out other reasons instead of deciding that it is a virus. I should have listened to the signals, coffee machine has been broken for a loooong time. vending machine is broken too. I did not see any water fountain. It seems it is not important but it shows how much they care for the patient. The first time I took my daughter for this reason they called me right after left to check if I had paid. I confirmed I did and they even asked for the confirmation number (which I provided) and a descriptions of the person who took the payment (did not pay attention to that). Come on!!! aren't you able to send the bill if there is no payment instead of bothering a parent with a sick child with anything other than checking how is your child!!!! AVOID this place. There several complaints online about the quality of care here.

My son had a skating accident during Christmas break 2017, where he went to his cousin's birthday…read moreparty and fell skating. My son told me he was ok but, I saw his leg swollen, and he kept saying no he was good. Long story short, my son ended up with a fracture in his ankle, where he was required to wear a cast on his left leg for one and half months and a boot for a month. During his last visit a couple of weeks ago, the doctor noticed that my son was walking with a limp and my son kept saying, "it hurts when I put pressure on it." The doctor prescribed physical therapy twice a week for the next six weeks. I called the number that the doctor gave my daughter to get an appointment for an evaluation, at first she's like I do not have anything available till mid March, but I advised her that his next appointment was at the end of the month. She advised me she would give me a call as soon as an appointment or cancellation appeared on her computer screen. I received a call within 24 hours and I was able to get an appointment the following week. Fast forward a week later, we came to our appointment on time, wait time to be seen was less than thirty minutes. We met my son's physical therapist (Miriam) very approachable and friendly and my son and her had an instant connection. This is my son first week of therapy and he has five more weeks to go. He's doing all his therapy exercises as instructed for one hour. Once his therapy is done, his favorite part where the therapist massages his ankle and applies some type of hot/cold cream for ten minutes. Kind of glad that I chose Nickalaus for my son's medical needs. Like I said before wait time is minimal once you sign in, have plenty of parking spaces, in and out promptly. I highly recommend this location if near this area.

Downside is the wait time if you go at odd hours, I always try to make the first appointment (7:45am) or the first one after lunch (I believe it's 1:45pm).

I come here frequently for my children's doctors appointment. Our doctor, Dr.Lammont, is very…read moreprofessional and we love having her as our doctor. However, for today's appointment, it was horrible care from the nurse. Immediately from arrival she had a nasty attitude, no matter how polite I stayed. She kept sighing in annoyance in my daughters face after she was informed she didn't have a shirt under her hoodie, meaning she would have to take my daughters vitals in a private room with the hoodie off. For reference, I have experience working in healthcare. I do not think I know any better than any healthcare professionals so I leave the work to them and do not question their level of care. When she was taking my daughter's blood pressure, she left the cuff on for at least four minutes. My daughters had a face of pain and I could physically see her whole arm turning purple. She was cutting off her circulation for much longer than necessary. My daughter has a high pain tolerance and does not complain about taking blood pressure, ever. I spoke up for my daughter, and I asked the nurse to take off the cuff because she was cutting off my kids circulation! Her arm was pulsating and completely purple! I KNOW that is NOT supposed to happen when taking blood pressure in a regulars doctors office. She proceeded to get upset, she aggressively tore off the cuff from my daughters arm and stormed out of the room, saying "Ya'll are going to have to get somebody to do this." before slamming the door shut. This was absolutely unprofessional and ridiculous. She could've injured my daughter for NO REASON. I will not be coming back here. I am unsure of her name, but she is a black female who seems to be around 5'9-5'8. She is slim and was wearing a bun and a face mask. Shame on you! This is a pediatric office and you need to be aware of how you treat children!
