I am really shocked to see that the reviews for lowest cost cremation are so low, I had an amazing experience with them, my dad passed away unexpectedly while out of town on a rock climbing trip and Lowest Cost helped me handle everything. Getting him transferred back down to Sacramento, his viewing and cremation. Since the autopsy had taken so long a couple weeks had passed before the viewing and they did an amazing job with making my dad ready. I needed to get my mom's remains cremated. We didn't need anything special, but just to get it done. These guys were recommended by the hospice people, so I called them and they handled everything for me. They took care of it all and for a reasonable price. They were very nice on the phone and a pleasure to work with. Definitely recommend them if you're looking for a low-cost cremation service. read more

AWFUL Experience. I'm so upset right now; I can barely type. Dealing with the loss of my dad has been incredibly difficult . I just got off the phone with a older woman who has no customer service skills whatsoever, it was a terrible experience. She was unhelpful and made things even worse. I'm already feeling overwhelmed, and she just added to the stress. I really needed some compassion and support, but I received the opposite. I'm writing this to express my extreme dissatisfaction. I honestly can't believe the company would have such a insensitive person answers phone calls of people who just lost someone in their life. I hope that you take this review and work on some customer service training or even have someone answer the phone that knows what the definition of compassion is because of the field of work your in. My father passed away recently and I was recommended to Lowest Cost Cremation (Lind Brothers Mortuary) for my cremation needs. I was quite impressed with the professionalism of the staff. Everything went smoothly and exactly as they outlined it. I am told they have had some staffing issues in the past. I highly recommend them. read more

If you are looking for a company to take good care of your loved one, this is NOT the right company for you. FYI - this company also goes by the name Lind Brothers Mortuary. My father died on June 11, and we were told we would get his ashes and his death certificate within 7-10 days. After 7 days, my mother called and the woman on the phone was very rude and said she would call when they were ready. After 10 days, my mother called back. The woman on the phone said that the hospital made a mistake and so they didn't have the death certificate yet. My mom started calling daily and each day she would get a different story as to why the death certificate hadn't been registered and why my dad's ashes weren't ready. On July 3rd, my brother went in person to ask, and someone showed him the computer screen and said everything would be ready on Monday, the 7th. When my mom called on Monday, there was a whole new story as to why the death certificate and my dad's ashes weren't ready. At this point, I called and informed them that we would be transferring my dad and that we were going to need a refund. We had my dad transferred that day. Then a few days later, my mom called to confirm the refund check was ready before she drove over there to pick it up. My mom was transferred to a different woman (who identified herself as a manager), who started yelling at my mother as soon as she picked up the phone (thinking it was me on the phone). When my mom went to pick of the check, the woman scoffed as my mom walked out. The lies and the rude treatment from the staff here was unacceptable. They have made a very painful process even more painful. Do not trust them with your loved one. read more

Had to have loved one's cremated remains shipped to us out of state. The plastic bag the ashes were in was ripped open, the plastic "urn" (box) that the bag of ashes was in was busted open, and the shipping box was spilling out ashes. Our local post office had to put the whole mess in a black plastic (trash) bag and put the bag in a mail bin to deliver to us. To say the least, we are disappointed with this disrespectful process. On July 13 my boyfriends sister passed away. He had asked me if I could call and get him an appointment with Lowest Cost cremation so he could have his sister's remains cremated. I called with the information they needed to get the paperwork started. The woman on the phone was quite rude to me and said she didn't have to deal with me because I wasn't family. I told her she would have to deal with me because I was the one paying for their services. My Boyfriend and I had gone there 6 1/2 years ago when my mother passed away and was quite happy with their service. I don't know what changed since that time but I had recommended them to a friend and I will never recommend them again. A Neighbor recommended Blue Oaks mortuary and when I called them they had no trouble talking to me and allowing me to make an appointment for my boyfriend and his two brothers. They have been so caring and so wonderful and they were only about $25 more than Lowest Cost. At a time when everyone is grieving, to be treated with such disrespect it's just unbelievable to me. With all their poor reviews I can't see how they even stay in business. For the little bit of savings you get they aren't worth it. My advice is shop around and don't even start with Lowest Cost because they aren't worth it. read more

On December 19th I called this business to request their services for my brother who passed away on 12/11/2021. I got all the information I could for his daughter and it was a disaster. After numerous calls and emails they finally got things started after the new year 2022. Needless to say it was still a disaster. They lied and told us they didn't have his body when we paid them on 1/6/2022 come to find out they picked his body up on 1/5/2022. They didn't cremate his body until 1/24/2022 only after I reported them to the BBB, Department of Consumer Affairs and Call Kurtis. A better name for this business would be "Lowest Integrity Cremation Services". My dad, a veteran, was cremated here over two months ago and his ashes were supposed to be delivered to the Sacramento Valley Veteran's Cemetery in Dixon. Lowest Cost never delivered the ashes and will not return our calls or give us an answer as to what happened to them. We are in the process of filing a complaint with the state Cemetery and Funeral Bureau. A crematory with this level of incompetence should not be allowed to continue operating. read more

I'm pleased others who rated their experience felt there was compassion from the employees. To be fair I only dealt with one employee and only over the phone as I am not local but managing the estate. My first interaction was to pay the bill which I had to do quickly to avoid other charges and get the death certificate which is needed to transfer funds and set up the trust so medical bills could be paid to the hard working compassionate hospice professionals. I made the call to pay the bill and the employee on the line seemed only to care about the money. I had a few questions about the death certificate but she wouldn't answer until I committed to paying the bill. Then I was told that the death certificate would be available to pick up in about a week with the ashes. After a week, I called again, then was told I would not be able to get the death certificates because I wasn't the original person setting up the cremation, she didn't seem to mind that when she wanted the bill paid. Finally, not wanting to call a third time I sent an email with no response it has been 3 weeks of back and forth with very little compassion in my opinion. I feel disappointed to have to write something negative but be warned as another person reviewed, you get what you pay for and through this process so far, this has been discouraging. read more

I give these folks five stars after meeting with Dylan Miller, the funeral arranger. He was compassionate, kind and thorough. The process takes longer than you think it should - delays are often outside of the control of the cremation company (getting the death certificate signed, holidays, etc.). I would have appreciated a call when these things happen, but when I called, they were able to let me know exactly what was happening. Their public office space is inside Lind Funeral Home at 4221 Manzanita Ave, Carmichael, CA 95608, but Dylan explained that they are hoping to complete their public offices at their Manning street location soon. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! My mom passed away, i don't have a lot of money and this place seemed like my only chance. But you get what you pay for. So they say after 5 days if you haven't paid bill then they charge a $20 storage fee for everyday after. Well I paid in full expecting her to be ready in the 5 days but I was wrong. It took them two full weeks for her to be ready, my grandma flew in from out of state to help with the process of her daughter, by the time they were done she had to fly back, she never got to say goodbye. Oh and I'M NOT even 100% sure I have my mom! When I picked her up, on her permit they had originally wrote one cremation number and crossed it out and wrote a different "correct" number to match the medallion on the ashes. Like WTF?? Not like it matters but I had to request a new permit without that eye sore. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

Not only was she extremely knowledgeable and informative, she was also really kind and sweet which made dealing with the passing of my father a tad bit easier.
