Bought a washer, delivery wouldn't hook it up several issues they had. I returned everything, went to store about my refund they said 24 hrs after the delivery company posted the return. They will match the price if you find it lower some where else and their service protection plan is excellent, also if you never use it they will refund a portion of what you paid back.Making a exchange, or return is always easy. Went to Lowe's today normally they're great, but today of course looking at all the Black Friday deals I found a lock that I liked and it was marked 40% off and so I got someone to grab it. I asked them again if it was 40% off to make sure and they told me it was cause I wanted to make sure. I go to the check out and it's not and I tell them about the sticker and they say "oh it's not for that item" like the sticker wasn't right on the price label. I just said I don't want it and I'll just take the house filtration system and filter. They scan it to purchase and told me it's not in there system they can't sell it to me. So, I scanned it on my app cause I wanted to check and it was there. They then called over the head cashier and she was rude and didn't explain anything to me. I had a bag full of old hardware from a small improvement project we were doing ourselves. I don't know where or what most of these things are so I asked for help. I not only got help in the door hardware section, he helped me find a grab bar for a half bath and lighting and was pleased to be able to help me. He said he was all about customer service. This man was an older gentleman, (about my age), and he had a great work ethic; he's a keeper! I even shook his hand when I was done shopping because he saved me hours of searching when I needed to be home painting instead. read more

I purchased a GE range from LOWES in mid-2020. Within six months of purchase, F350 code came on. It cleared within a day. So I didn't bother to call. Even though I barely use this stove, the F350 code showed up again about 6months later. I called LOWES where I purchased the range and got transferred all over the store. I couldn't get any help. It has been very difficult to get any help from lowes protection program or LOWES. I give you and used the oven periodically. Unfortunately, the stove stopped working. I went into LOWES location to get this resolved. Unfortunately, I was told by the representative that there was nothing they could do. Their system deletes all receipts in six months of purchase. I was told to contact GE for help. I called GE and didn't have to give them any information. They located my protection plan info with LOWES including everything about my purchase. I called LOWES back and they couldn't find me in the system. I was livid. I explained that GE had given me all of my info and that I did have a LOWES protection plan. I give the representative my plan number. She stated that she couldn't put in my claim because I still had a factory warranty with GE and that GE had to honor it first before I could put in a claim. I called GE back and they said that it was impossible as my factory warranty was for only a year. I called LOWES again today. The representative asks for my model number in order for her to help me. I argue that it was not necessary and that I didn't have it. I explained that I had my plan number. The representative said that wasn't good enough. She spoke with a supervisor who told her to verify my other info and then she was willing to put in my claim. Well, no claim was put in. It turned out that a LOWES representative put in incorrect dates in their system, so they will not file a claim until I can proof that I purchase the range. Even though it is showing on my profile right in their face. I think they want to frustrate customers so that they don't take care of their customers. When you are frustrated, you will just go and buy a new item. So sad that the rich like LOWES create systems to oppress their customers. I will never buy from this place again. To whom it may concern On September 3, 2021 I purchased a Haier refrigerator with top freezer. On September 3, 2022. The factory warranty ran out. I stand corrected. The factory warranty ran out on the sixth. On the seventh I purchased an extended warranty. On 9 September 2022 my refrigerator stopped working freezer was not working fridge raider was not working just went shopping lost $284.62 worth of food, I called Lowe's to schedule an appointment. Nobody could find my warranty because it was still fresh and new. I called a couple days later nobody could still find my warranty because it was fresh and new. I called that Tuesday after purchasing the warrantee on a Thursday or Wednesday don't know what exact day I called again on a Tuesday or Wednesday. They found my warrantee and schedule the appointment for the following day. They gave me the number to the company that was going to be coming out between the hours of 10 and two. I called that company the following day to ask them if we can change the hours what time they were going to be coming out. Now this point before this appointment I was on call 17 I made 17 phone calls to Lowe's, customer service, and extended warranty. So when I called his company and asked him if we can change the hours, the gentleman proceeded to tell me that they do not cover my area . I then proceeded to call Lowe's again that was 23 phone calls later, when I finally received an appointment on the 20th between the hours of 10 to 2 PM. I called the phone number that they gave me to the company that is supposedly coming out today. They had no clue what I was talking about so remember I was on call number 23. now I'm on call number 26 because I called the company then I called Lowe's customer service they couldn't help me and then I called the warranty company. They couldn't help me then I called customer service again and the woman tried to help me, but could not. She gave me the hours that they're supposed to come out today between 12 and 5 p.m. I have a family of six for adults, two young children, and a cat that also eats food from the refrigerator and one of my grandchildren who needs medication refrigerated. I had to borrow a mini fridge from somebody so I can just keep my grandchild medication refrigerated. This is beyond frustrating and this is beyond uncalled for, customer service should not be this difficult to get a product that's not even a year and three days old when it died I should not have to jump through loopholes to try to get some kind of service to get this fixed. I should not have to go a whole month practically with no refrigerator , I shouldn't have to go into work an hour late waiting for my refrigerator repair guy that never showed up because those aren't the hours that they're supposed to be there. I don't understand why I had to go through all this mess to try to get some kind of service on my refrigerator and I still have no idea if it's gonna be fixed today or not . All my appliances are purchased through Lowe's as of today. All my appliances will be purchased elsewhere. I don't understand. I want this matter resolved ASAP. It is ridiculous for a family to have to go through this to have to go to grocery store every day after I just had left total knee replacement as well and a broken right foot. This is our local Lowe's and its served us well over the years. It's easy to navigate, they usually have what you need and employees are available to help if you need it. I find that if the garden center checkout is busy, it's often easier to head inside to checkout. On busier weekends, they'll have a crew outside to help load bulkier item (bags of mulch, soil, eat) into your vehicle. Instead of a complaint, sometimes a pat on the back is due. Two employees at my Wallingford CT store made it possible for me to have an enjoyable Christmas. It easily could have been my worste had it not been for these two caring Lowe's employees. Seems my credit card was charged over $5000 on a $2000 purchase. These two really went the extra mile to get my money refunded after my credit card company told me I was out of luck. There were people behind me in line that were being mean, yet these people were gifted with patience and good will. I have never been a Lowe's customer. My parents needed to replace a bathroom faucet and purchased it from Lowes and paid for it to be installed. When the plumber called to set up a time for installation he told my parents that they would be paying him directly. Was he trying to get paid twice? They ended up returning the faucet as it wasn't the right one so fortunately they didn't have to deal with this plumber. Extremely rude employees in the garden department! I went to purchase several plants off the clearance rack which there was an abundance of. ( These plants quite wilted with a bit of dead leaves, definitely clearance worthy) Upon checking out, the woman at the register Chris argued that the plants were not on sale and there was nothing she could do & clapped her hands together with a sarcastic tone. We were also inquiring about purchasing rocks and she had smart a** remarks about how we pick them up. Needless to say we went to the front desk about the plants & 2 other employees John & Wayne came over to the rack. John proceeded to argue that customers leave plants where they don't belong all the time insisting we were in the wrong. (There were approx 15 of the same plant on the rack) John consistently cut us off from speaking and didn't even want to let Wayne get a word in who believed that the plants might have belonged on the rack from how they appeared. I understand they did not have a yellow sticker indicating clearance but Chris and John were rude and unprofessional. Shame on them. We put the plants back and said forget it. read more

Customer service is horrible, the staff is ignorant of their stock, orders are messed up, even management does not help when there is a problem. I had major issues with a toilet and installation...wrong toilet and wrong phone number handed out. 3 weeks later, I finally had the toilet installed! My wife and I generally shop at this Lowe's, but from now on we'll be using the other big box home improvement store located right across the street. We had been out in the Cromwell area one morning before a big home improvement day. We stopped off at the Cromwell Lowe's and bought our supplies, including some mixed paints. We weren't sure if we were buying the right kind, so we asked the employees if we could return the paint if we were wrong. We were told that the policy is not to take returns on mixed paint, but that they always accept them anyway. We got home and realized that yes, we bought the wrong kind. I went to our local Lowe's - the one this review is for - in Wallingford and was unable to return the paints. I spoke to a manager who coldly told me that the Cromwell store was wrong to say that they could be returned and that he would not honor it. He told me I would have to drive back to Cromwell to take it up with them. I asked him if Lowe's is corporate owned, and he confirmed it. I asked if his store and the Cromwell store share the same upper management, and he said yes, but still refused to accept my return. I called the 1-800 number for Lowe's and explained that employee's reassurance was a major factor in our buying decision that morning. The woman on the phone apologized and promised to have a manager from Cromwell call me back. A few days later I got a call from the Cromwell manager who apologized again and told me that the Wallingford manager was wrong not to take my return. She said she would take the return, but I ended up having to drive out of my way to Cromwell to do it. On a side note, this whole ordeal got me calling other places and I discovered that WalMart's policy is to always take returns on mixed paint... so that's where I'll go for my future painting projects. read more

If I could give this chain a 0 I would. I would not recommend for anything other than small in store purchases. Family ordered a massive amount of block to redo a patio area and deck, company shorted us an entire pallet of block plus other block in the order. Upon my arrival home there was no packing slip or delivery slip to confirm what I was missing So by hand we counted. We have been calling for days only to get the run around. We we're continually told we couldn't speak to a manager because they were in meetings (this was 3 days in a row) and we we're passed back and forth with no answers given, notes put incorrectly in the computer system. we finally had a rep tell us the store we placed the order with was not the store that fulfilled the order and that store we could not get ahold of so we continually called different departments until someone would talk to us. Close to 3K later and still missing block that has been "out for delivery since 8am" I would never recommend Lowe's to anyone again. Don't waste your time, go to Home Depot or a mom and pop that sells block. Poor customer service and poor management. read more

I went to Lowes to get a quote regarding taking out about 25 square feet of tile, about 460 square feet of carpet and replacing it all with $2 per square foot laminate with one step down and putting in some trim on top of my existing molding. Lowes was at least over $2k more expensive than each of the three other quotes I received at Colonial Flooring America, Home Depot and Lumber Liquidators. The subcontractor they used (East Coast Flooring which has terrible ratings I later found out) had an assessor come out and then Lowes put together an invoice that totaled over $5,200. One particular line item on the assessment totaled about $1,300 and was titled (Subfloor Leveling Laminate). The assessor informed me that charge was because my floor was not even. Somehow the assessor concluded that my subfloor was not level WITHOUT USING A LEVEL OR LASER and just by just pulling up about a 2 foot section of my carpet but not the padding in the corner of our dining room. Of the FOUR companies that I had come out, all of them besides Lowes used a level and concluded that my floor was level (less than 3/16" difference every 10 feet). I called Lowes regarding this and ultimately spoke to a manager who gave me a different story than the assessor by stating that Lowes ROUTINELY PREEMPTIVELY CHARGES that ($1300 amount in my case) just in case they run in to problems later on they don't have to charge more. I asked what if my floor was actually level to begin with and he didn't have an answer to that... And in case anyone was wondering, the manager refused to give me back the $35 estimate cost for this scam of an estimate. read more

Never had trouble finding what i was looking for. Parking lot is huge and there is a light at the entrance so Route 5 is not a problem. The main complain I have about this is the service. Many times I have come to this location and the staff seemed more interested in checking their cell phones than asking customers if they needed help with anything. The garden section did not have what I was looking for so I never actually bought anything from this location. Maybe one day if I desperately need something, I will return here, but as for right now the bad taste still resides in my mouth from previous visits. read more

Just a terrible experience buying a washing machine. First the delivery company they sent could Not figure out how to install it ( Home Depot had to show Lowes). Then when the LG machine was installed it exploded in the first 10 minutes causing significant damage to floors and other areas. This location is not to horrible. Some of the customer service does suck though, I will admit that to anybody and it looks like some other people have experienced this as well. My father bought a dishwasher on sale, and after installation realized it must have never worked from the beginning. He was pretty mad about it, I don't blame him. I called and spoke to a manager who said he could return it even though it was on sale, and didn't have the receipt. We brought it back and they gave us a brand new machine which was worth more than the one we brought back. Overall good experience. I went to a home show because I wanted to get 3 prices to replace my windows. "Renewal by Anderson" refused to talk to me without my husband present - automatically out. Another small vendor never returned my call. I met Kevin Donlon from Lowe's and he was purely professional all the way. He came to my house (on his day off), gave me a price and never pressured me for an answer. I finally figured it all out and called him back and he still had all the information and was great to work with. The installers came and measured and my windows were in within a few weeks. Dave and the two Mikes were great. Had to replace a big bay window and they all worked together, cleaned up afterward and came back next day to replace the four smaller ones. Dropped my cash wallet there about five years ago, halfway home my wife called and said that an associate at Lowe's had found my wallet. We worked with Patrick Roy extensively and he resolved every issue...even coming out to our home twice for inspection. We were very hesitant on beginning our kitchen remodel $30k, but Patrick has practically hand-walked us through and continues to show excellent customer service and managerial skills. Not the best with applicance installation procedures. Called the Wallingford store looking for guidance on why I have not received an installation date for a dishwasher I purchased there, was told they don't handle the installations and "I was told that" (I'm assuming they are referring to when I first bought the machine, however I didn't recall this and don't think it was appropriate to say this to a customer who is just looking for information). My thought is if I'm spending hundreds of dollars at your store, then yeah, you are ultimately responsible to make sure the item I paid for gets to my house. Was transferred to Lowe's installation sales department and got the run around there too. So I still have no idea when this dishwasher is coming. I bought a grill on Saturday 5/26/18, we also order some other products, after, I told the grill will be ready on Sunday following day I told them that I going pick up on Monday. I call Monday morning around 10:00am, I was told the grill wasn't ready however the gentleman told me that only take 45 min to put together. To make a long story short, after three attempt to get someone to tell if grill was ready, I asked to speak to a manager and I got to talk to him (Justin) And he told that he going to call back he never call me back. My experience at this store is very mixed. Purchased a dishwasher and got great advice and a good price. Went to purchase more expensive washer and dryer and the employee Jimmy could not stop dusting the floor models to offer any assistance. All to Home Depots advantage as we spent $1500 pretty quickly. Very disappointed.... i recently bought a media matel electic fireplace ( on clearance ) about a week after buying it my Husband and my self went to sent it up. We get to the end and are almost finished only to find out that for the right and left corner pannel we had the same piece and were unable to finish. I call lowes to explain my issue. They can not find my item in the computer because its coming up as a different item. I drive to lowes to show the item i am talking about ans am instantly told there is nothing they can do because they have no more in stock and none of the surrounding stores have any either. I am then directed to call the missing parts phone number (green touch) from the directions. I call and they instantly tell me that they can help me out and send me the part free of charge. 3-4 days pass and I receive the part in the mail and it is the WRONG piece.... i again contact (green touch) and am told that they cant do anything to help me as they dont have or cant get the piece im looking for because they dont make replacement parts like that. They recommend i return the unit. I think go back to lowes in person this time and speak with a manager to see what we can do. The manager explains that we can not return it to get a similar model because this one was on sale for $249.00 but was originally $499.00 and they no longer have anymore on sale. He says we can return it for the $249.00 and he will give us a $50 gift card brining our total to $300.00 but in order to get a new unit wed have to pay an extra $200 out of pocket!!. We took a look around the store and and saw they have the same scott living media mantel for $499.00 but in brown and the one we bought was white. But are still told we can not exchange for that one because its not on sale.. so basically why im giving 2 stars is poor service and basically thinking $50 is going to solve everything and get me out of their hair to me that is so rude and not looking into a problem that they obviously knew about hence the item being on sale. Im sure this happened to someone else and when they returned it they through it on the floor to resell at a cheaper price without advertising that it was missing parts!
