I have been a loyal Lowe's customer for years. It has always been a pleasurable professional experience until my recent purchase. I went to the store to purchase a wooden rocker for my porch. The rocker I chose was on display on the upper rack unable to view first hand. A sales associate agreed to assist me. I pointed to the rocker in the upper shelf out of reach and asked if I could view the rocker closer. He indicated that he could not get it down and asked another associate to assist us. That associate told us he was busy and could not help and sent a third associate over and he told me he also could not have the rocker brought down to view and stated bring back the item that was accessible to purchase on the lower shelf and if I was not pleased with the construction or comfort to return to the store. I agreed that would be fine and took the boxed rocker home to be assembled. After assembling the rocker it was too uncomfortable for my needs. When returning the rocker to Lowe's, I realized I did not have the sales receipt from my cash purchase. The Lowe's manager commented that I probably purchased the rocker on Facebook marketplace and he was not able to accept the return. For this they are receiving one star. This store needs to hire more help. I needed paint and was waiting forever! There was only one girl there and she seemed very distraught because she had no help. I walked into this store tonight with $1,000 cash in my wallet to purchase items and tools needed for a project! Needless to say , I walked out with $1,000 in wallet! For the umpteenth time here couldn't get help let alone find what I was there to buy! Thanks for killing all our local hardware stores! I am done with Lowe's! They should be proud of their customer service! All you get when you do get help is someone that doesn't give a crap! I looked at my first review and thought it needed updating. Maybe it's a sign of the times, but I wonder if anyone here takes some pride or has kindness as they do their work. Don't get me wrong, before retiring, I worked retail and realize how challenging the job is. There are customers who are rude and demanding. I had plenty, but I found my way through situations. I was looking for some specific screws and there was no staff to help me. I found someone who said they'd call someone to the hardware aisle, but nobody came, but I eventually found the screws on my own. When I went to the pro desk, a cashier beckoned me from the pro desk line to the register when I said I needed to do a phone sale, scanned all my items, then didn't know what a phone sale was and I had to go back in line to the pro desk, having to wait longer. Didn't have the panel knockout seals I needed, but I was mostly disappointed with lack of help from staff. read more

My 82 year old mother purchase a Frigidaire from Latrobe store June 25, 2015. She has been having problems with the freezer keeping items frozen. Service calls have been from A&E on Oct 14, 27, 30, November 6, 13 and 23. Dec 16 S&R company came to service Fridge. Jan 4, 2016 my mother called Frigidaire and they advise mom to call S&R tell them it was not working and need a new one.Mom called S&R and they replied they could not do anything. January 5th I became involved as this was not being resolved properly and I wanted to stop this run around with no resolution for my mother. I called Lowes in Latrobe appliance dept January 5 to Pat and he told me to call Lowes Service Advantage number. At 11:47 am I spoke with Jessica and advised all service and telephone calls my mother made to date and asked how to resolve this politely. She put me on hold and spoke to a supervisor. When she returned she informed me the service appointments were so close together and need to be 30 days apart, (seems a long time between non-working freezer service calls I think). Jessica made another service appointment for January 7, 2016 for AM. Today A&E service tech Chad arrived and again determined the Frigidaire was not working and to ask for a replacement product, (he advised a Maytag or Whirlpool product). At 11:53 am I called again to Lowes Service Advantage telephone and spoke to Brianna. She proceeded to tell me now we must talk to Frigidaire directly for next step. This again seems like now I am getting a run around. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was connected to Marlina. She informed me that I needed to call Frigidaire. Amazing that Lowes would not stand by a product which they sold! This has gone way too far in my opinion. I wounder why anyone including myself would purchase ANY appliance knowing this is a typical scenario you could expect when you encounter a lemon product. Waiting for Lowes to acknowledge this is a problem and do the right thing and replace this fridge with a new product asap. Called to Frigidaire and talked to Nancy and discovered Frigidaire does not use A&E for service work, (someone should tell Lowes). Nancy was at least helpful by called A&E, talking to Malory. Chad has not turned in his service call papers yet. so I need to call again. In the mean time, I am wondering why Lowes sent A&E for service after Frigidaire just told me they are not certified by them...Called Latrobe Lowes and talked to Brad in appliance dept. He tells me that A&E is not the service provider Lowes would send. Whoa dude, I said. Lowe's is the one sending A&E for service to my mother's. This is becoming a serialist nightmare! I called back to Lowes Dis-service Dis-advantage telephone line to investigate this latest A&E service issue and spoke to Anthony. Nice person but, not authorized to do anything but answer the telephone and say hello...next I asked to speak to a supervisor and got Miss Namoi. After speaking to hear of all the details and why would Lowes send this service provider if Frigidaire will not recognize them as authorized. She could only say A&E are on a national data base and are thus authorized. Not much better than Anthony I think. So now I am waiting again to see if Fridge people will grant a return on a lemon product and how much longer Lowes will continue to make obstacles to overcome for an 82 year old lady with a lemon fridge. Moral of this story is don't buy appliances at Lowes. Instead go to a manufacturer because thats where you will end up in time of trouble anyway! Lesson learned. Good Luck Latrobe read more

We bought a refrigerator with extended warranty plan a little over a year ago. We typically don't buy warranties cause they usually are a hassle but when lowes recommended it cause of the coverage food loss, we decided that the warranty would be a good idea in this case. Not long into the manufacturers warranty we started having problems. A fan behind the freezer wall started making loud noises and an error code was displayed on the temperature control module. We called lowes and a repairman was sent to repair the unit. Short time later the same part started acting up again. We suggested that a new fridge be brought over to replace. LOWES told us that they wouldn't replace the refrigerator cause of a clause in the warranty that stipulates they would not replace until the 4th service call. So now we're 1.5 years into this purchase and we have had our 5th service call and unfortunately, we're still fighting with lowes to do the right thing. However, I highly doubt they will. I am now taking all my home improvement business elsewhere. read more

Rug Project.....serious workmanship and scheduling issues. Don't seem to have much concern for customer and understand problems. So far have personally spent 13 hours on a easy rug replacement for a 12 x 10 kitchen and 19 x 7 hallway. They left splinters everywhere, poor quality for thresholds and bad edges. read more
