I understand the 1 star reviews but wanted to give a little insight on customer service at Lowe's. In most instances, there is only one person working per department. So, when that person is helping someone, is on break or lunch (if they get one) there isn't anyone available in that department. 99% of the employees care and are doing their best to help everyone but there aren't enough hours given to others to truly man the store as it really needs. Obviously, this isn't anyone's fault except Lowes in general. Lastly, you would not believe some of the names employees are called by customers. Even when the employee is doing everything they can to help the customer. If the store is out of stock, it's not the employees fault, don't take it out on them. If you called and couldn't get through, it's not the guy in tools fault. How do I know.... I worked there and have experienced it first hand. Being nice goes a long way. read more

Lowe's Customer Service is awful. I have called 5 times and did not get an answer not one time. I let it ring at least 10 minutes each call. Also they don't update availability of items frequently enough. I have placed at least 3 orders for pickup only to get there and some of my items were not available. I have asked for help a few times on finding items and the employees act like I am asking them to move a mountain. I am going to shop at Home Depot from now on. read more

The customer service at this store is terrible. I waited 30 minutes and went through several employees to get a piece of carpet cut. I never did get the carpet and finally left in disgust. I have submitted numerous requests to the Lowes corporate website for them to inventory the selection of nuts and bolts, but they never do and the majority of the bins are either empty or full of incorrect items that no one ever sorts out. So this place is just what they need out in Gadsden. As far as I know there aren't a lot of options available if you need to get hardware, yard care items, tools, appliances, paint, etc. I was doin a home project, putting in some new ceiling fans, and discovered that I would need some additional hardware, screws, for a junction box, and they were clearly the best bet. Easy to find what I was looking for because of the organized layout of the store. Once I found the screws I needed, they had a good assortment of lengths, making it easy to find the exact fit, width and length, I needed so I would be able to complete my project. Staff here was friendly, and all the stuff I ended up getting was reasonable price point wise. I wouldn't hesitate coming back here to see if they had what I needed or utilize their on-line/free shipping to the store option they offer. If you're unfamiliar with the Lowe's brand you should give them a try. read more

I bought a riding lawn mower a little over two weeks ago. I paid half cash and put half on my credit card, and set up delivery. Two weeks was to soonest I could get a delivery date so I took it. On the day of delivery, I got a call from Trussville Lowes that they couldn't deliver my mower. Gadsden Lowes sold me a mower that they didn't have in stock and transferred the sale to Trussville who didn't have any either. Trussville tried to sell me a display mower with a dead battery and then said that they couldn't deliver that one because the delivery truck was broke down. During the entire process, no one at either Lowes would answer my phone calls. Even with me calling repeatedly and asking for the manager, or delivery's. And there is no option for leaving a message. I got tired of getting the run around from both stores and went in and got a refund. I'll be spending my money elsewhere. I have bought hight end appliances over the years and always paid cash. Didn't get full refund (at first) because they wanted to charge us fees for the washer and dryer we didn't get. Found same make/model cheaper at Costco prolly gonna do that. Lowe's "customer service" is far from customer service. They gave me a four hour window for delivery of a washer and dryer, after having to wait for two weeks to get them delivered. After wasting most of my afternoon and part of my evening, I called the store. They told me there was a truck breakdown and gave me the number for their logistics service. They told me that my order was not delivered because my address and phone were incorrect. Total lie. Sent me to national Lowe's, who game me same old runaround, and connected me back to local store. Computer hung up on me. Called back. Computer told me store was closed (7:08 p.m.) and hung up again. Called back again and spoke to same guy as before. Said he could schedule redelivery on Monday, and I told him I needed it tomorrow. Old dryer is in driveway for pickup and washer is disconnected. Pitiful! No longer a Lowe's customer. read more

Worst experience I've had with any retail delivery, in a long time. I typically load and go and I tried online ordering and pickup but lately we've needed so many large items, it's tough for the online order/ pickup to react with the volume we're buying. First, shopping at the Gadsden Lowe's is fine (no complaints) but on 11/28/18 my wife and I purchased new appliances for our new home. We weren't quite ready for them and rescheduled a couple of times before the day of delivery came (April 30, 2019). When they called to give the delivery time, we discussed setup again and I mentioned the stack washer/ dryer, and was told it wasn't on the invoice, so it wasn't on the truck. This wasn't a big deal to me (I knew we'd figure out what happened and they'd deliver later). We were thrilled our other appliances were coming until we saw the dishwasher. It was out of the box and missing parts. I wasn't sure how this unfortunate thing would be resolved so we called the store and made arrangements for a new one to be delivered, along with the washer/ dryer they mysteriously didn't bring previously (this item was an easy oversight and fix and I'm grateful for the professionalism in resolving the matter)... But, today (May 16, 2019) the stack washer/ dryer arrived but the driver was so rude, right off the bat. He actually got in his truck to leave, when I asked them to back further up to the concrete, so our new appliances wouldn't be bounced across the gravel. The washer/ dryer was supposed to be setup, but i didn't want this man in my new house any longer than necessary. While unboxing he kept saying things under his breath and not one time did he express any gratitude we were his customer. I can't tell you how bad this guys attitude was because I don't wanna relive it, but I don't want this man on my property again (even the ride along man said he's like this every morning and he has to put up with it because he needs the job). Thanks Lowe's for screening your employees and for appreciating the tens of thousands of dollars we've spent building our guest home. I feel abused emotionally and can't imagine how the ride along man will be affected if he continues his training under this man. There will be lots more rude delivery personnel if someone doesn't address the bad apple. For me, I felt it was important to share the highlights of what's happened. Terrible customer service can never find any help when you need it employees have no idea about the products they are selling

Bought a washer, and wanted one that was in stock so I could get the washing machine put in today. After verifying that it was in stock, and the lady put eyes on it in the warehouse, I placed the order and went up front to pay for it, and she said they will have it right up. After pulling my truck up and waiting over an hour, others were pulling up around me, getting their appliances loaded and gone, I decided to go in and find out what's going on. Seems I was forgotten about, and another sales guy, who saw me when I bought it, had to go back into the warehouse and pull it himself. The original sales lady got on the dolly and toted it out, I said I could get it from here, she stated "I would get in trouble for letting the customer work to hard". While it was being toted out, a bunch of "loaders" were standing around and when the girl that was dollying it out to my truck asked if they could help load, it was like turning the light on a bunch of cockroaches, they took off. When we got to the door, she said "here is another loader, I'll ask him to help". When she asked him if he could help, she called him by his name (mike?) and he just looked at her and kept on walking. I told her, "I'll get it, I'll load the damn thing myself", and did. My impression, was the salespeople are trying their best, but they have a pretty lazy set of "loaders" and warehouse employees. read more

I have had mostly good experiences when shopping at Lowe's,l've purchased a lawnmower,large trailer and numerous other items. l recently had to fix a Leakey kitchen faucet in an older home l purchased,l needed to replace the o- ring on the knobs,this was an older fixture and would have been a real headache to fix,l went to our Lowe's on Wallace Dr. In Gadsden and found the o- ring without having to drive from hardware to hardware.Thank goodness we have a store like Lowe's,you save gas and time because you can usually find whatever you need to get the job done! read more

If I could give them a below 1 star rating I would. We searched out a particular lawnmower and their website said they had 3 in stock. We borrowed a trailer and headed out only to be told, yes they have 3 but they are in crates and will be put together the next day. We purchased the mower with the promise we could come tomorrow and pick up. We did call the next morning and was told it was being put together. We called back that afternoon to be told, no - try again the next day. So today we called and was assured it was put together and would be waiting on us. My husband took off work early, borrowed a trailer and arrived only to be told they must have sold it to someone else because they were out. Mind you the website still shows 1 available for pickup TODAY. After 30 minutes of searching (and telling us we probably bought a refurbished one) they said oops no, we do have one in a crate but it'll be tomorrow before it's put together. We have paid over $2000 for a lawnmower and been lied to countless times to have nothing but tall grass and a lawnmower somewhere in a crate. The staff could care less and no one has any interest in helping. Go to Home Depot or another Lowe's but stay away from this one! read more
