I had a Frigidaire refrigerator that broke under warranty, and which, after some hassle, Frigidaire agreed to replace. During the replacement process, Janice Madrigal in Receiving intervened on my behalf several times. Her efforts were key in keeping Frigidaire on task. I spent over an hour in the Derby Lowes on Patriot Blvd, Saturday from 5:45 pm to 6:45 pm, looking for a water heater dip tube or someone who could help me.  I saw two employees on the floor helping two other people the moment I gave up.  When I passed the service desk, there was another employee there chatting with one employee working on a computer.  Your online customer service is the worst and so is your in store customer service.  This is why my last trip to Lowes was at least two years ago.  I will no longer waste my time in your stores. read more

And a lady told us to go with an outside company, it'll only be a 2 week wait opposed to 6-8 weeks directly thru Lowes. NOT TRUE!! She just didn't want to help us! Also, her parents used this outside company for kitchen cabinets and countertop, and its beautiful. Outside company came, they were double of what it'd be thru Lowes!!!!! Drove 80 miles three times to pick up a lawn mower. Fist excuse was the guy that puts mowers together was out all week. Second trip... lawn mover was damaged and had to be sent back. Third trip was to pick it up but couldn't because it had a flat tire. I could not be more disappointed in Lowes. Wichita (Ridge Road) and Derby, Kansas. Lowes Derby has a clearanced Bosch dishwasher that they will not sell us as it will leave a hole in their display. The Lowes East Wichita and Hutchinson sold there displays. I was informed from the Derby appliance department it is the managers decision and as they don't have a reset yet for that area it will stay put. I asked the store manager I believe Brandy that they should take the sign down as it is unavailable she insisted it is available I asked then why can't I buy it. The store would rather keep an appliance that someone is willing to purchase then have a hole in the straight line? What business pass on sales due to the laziness of it's workers. I did note the reviews are 2 stars now I get it. We will be looking elsewhere for our appliances. This is the letter I sent to the I Robot co, and it explains why I won't spend another dime at LOWES I really do not expect you to do anything for me about the damage to my carpet. I feel Thet you would like to know that LOWES Home Improvement store, which is a nationwide business and sells a full line of your products is using your product to cover up poor workmanship. First let me say we love our Roomba and this is the second one we have owned. We purchased new carpet from Lowes and have had it a few months. The carpet unraveled at a glued seam. I complained about the seam when it was installed and was told that it was the best they could do because of the thickness of it. A few months later it has began unraveling at that seam They voided the warrantee on the carpet because of using our Roomba. they say that Roomba usage is against their carpet guidelines and voids the guarantee and we will have to pay to have it fixed. My wife and I are 75 years old and feel we are being taken advantage of. How can they sell your product and use them to cover up poor workmanship by their installers? I was in Derby Lowe's on Saturday looking for plastic chain for a decorative fence. I couldn't find what I needed so I went to Customer Service. Raylinn was there when I got there. Here's how it went... Me: Hi, could you tell me if this chain is available at any other Lowe's in the area. Her: I don't know. Me: Ok, could you check? Her: (sigh/eyeroll) - nobody has it, you'll have to order it. Me: Ok, I'd like to order, does that chain come in white? Her: I don't know. Me: Ok, could you check? Ppl in this town and at this Lowe's in particular are so nice and helpful! Came in on a Tuesday evening after work Needed some not specific items in anticipation of possibly snowy/icy weather. Met Alan in the gardening section and he led us right to where we needed to be and knew exactly which aisle in the main section we could find the other item on our list. He even helped load up the heavier item. A true gentleman. Then as we were preparing to check out, Saw a small line of ppl in the self check out section, when just around the corner was a single cash register with the light on; we poked our head around the corner and a lovely lady named Justine greeted us with a smile. We were in the store maybe a maximum of 20 minutes but if these 2 employees are typical of the staff here, Lowe's is in good hands. I didn't have high expectations reading recent reviews, but note, we had no advance orders pending. And also, here we are, nearly 3 years into this covid pandemic . The dearth of people in the work force is well-documented and just in the past month, in a national newspaper, an article on a similar national hardware store laid out how difficult it is for those who do show up to work, what with all the multitasking they have to do. I gave the store two stars overall... Based on the pick up that I experienced (details below), I would only get one star.... but the store does have most everything that I needed a long as I can find it myself. It is really hard to find assistance in the store. With all the people out of work I would think they'll be plenty of applicants but for some reason they can't maintain enough staff. This is also an issue with the pick up that I had on a pre-ordered item. It was only two boxes of laminate so not a huge or complicated order. The pickup area was disorganized, and the young lady who scanned my bar code, called one time for assistance from the flooring area, and then told me to step aside and wait. She didn't follow up to even see if someone responded that they were tying to help. Finally, after about 20 minutes, I got back into the back of the line to get back to the register. She totally ignored the issue after one call... by the time it was the person right before me being helped, a second person came to a mother register, so I moved over to her line and explained that the other young lady had called but no one responded, and it had been about 35 minutes at this point. She called again and said that someone was pulling the order from the back. I waited about 15 more minutes before getting my two boxes of laminate flooring. This was the worst service I've had in a long time. There was no reason that the boxes shouldn't have been up front when they called me to say the order was ready. Either you need dedicated runners for to get the order, or you need more space to hold items up front, close to the registers. Next time I am going to wait until the items are brought up before stepping out of the line. Overall I think they need more help but the service was really bad. I've always had good experiences that other Lowes stores. The SMARTCORE laminate, in "Sumter Stone"turned out nice. I'm pretty sure this is made exclusively for Lowe's because I couldn't find it anywhere else online. read more

Normal lack of service continues at Lowe's in Derby. Waited for customer service to answer call from cashier. I paid over $200 for plants and a refrigerator water filter and had to go to CS to pick it up since she couldn't get any answer. Waited for 20-25 minutes (literally)in line b/c only associate working at first was tied up with an install problem. 2 associates came up and helped 6 customers that came up after me on the other side of CS. I asked cashier if she could get some help and she said yes- but never did. Asked for the manager after I was finally helped and Danny came out and said sorry, we're really busy this morning. I said this is pretty normal. He said have a nice day as I walked off, in a sarcastic tone. He could have cared less. Wish Home Depot or Menard's would come to Derby. read more

Great place to stop to purchase home improvement and household cleaning items. Great prices on paint and lumber. Cleaning supplies are higher than grocery stores, but convenient if you're already here. I noticed a lot of the reviews mention where they have used services from third parties represented through Lowe's and that they haven't gone well. This is true across all construction contractors all over the country regardless of the home-improvement store. They all suck when going thru a home improvement store so pick the least sucky. It's a always a gamble. It's guaranteed business for them so they don't care as much about you as a customer. I recommend to purchase what you need and hire a contractor directly so that if they screw something up, you don't get thrown back and forth between the contractor and the store. Higher chance you'll get the results you want plus you'll save the improvement store's referral fee they get from the contractor. This Lowe's is generally OK. However, after spending 20 minutes trying to find 2 bolts in their CF of a bulk hardware section, we finally found the two we needed only to discover that the packaging was supposed to contain 2 bolts, but each pkg only contained one. (No, we didn't remove one.) That was OK with us because we only needed one of each size anyway. It should have been fairly straight forward--half the product, half the price--right? Nope. The manager said she couldn't reduce the price on the partial pkg. So, we left and went elsewhere. If a manager isn't able to reduce the price on partial pkgs of bolts in that messed up, chaotic bulk hardware section then the place is doomed. I also don't recommend having Lowe's deliver appliances, as the contractors who delivered ours hooked up the wires completely wrong, which could have, under the right circumstances, electrocuted someone. read more

Made an online order for almost $700 of material, on a Saturday, scheduled for delivery on Monday (today). Was told I would receive a call the day before confirming delivery, never received a call. Called the store Monday morning to see what the plan was and to see if it would be delayed, was transferred from person to person with no one able to answer any of my questions. Finally after 20 minutes I decided I did not want to deal with them anymore and decided to cancel my order, was then hung up on. Cancelled online and am currently waiting to receive my money back. Can I leave 0 stars? This is an add onto my last review. We finally got 3 of four boxes of cabinets last week. They simply forgot to put the 4th box on the truck. But we were assured it would be delivered this weekend. Of course, no delivery. Called Lowe's and they said that the 3rd party delivery company is at fault. Called Pilot Freight to see what was up. They tell me that Lowes DID NOT put it on the schedule to be delivered. I called lowes back to let them know that unfortunately that they are at fault. The manager Jeff can't even take the time to call me back. So I can either call Lowe's on Monday or call Lowe's Corporate. I'm so upset I can't even get angry anymore. It's a waste of time. I would like to take a moment to share my disappointing customer experience at my local Lowes in Derby, KS. I have found that what I am about to relate to you has been typical of the service I receive at that store. I work as a Service Delivery Manager for a company that provides Tech Support and Managed Services to other companies and regularly train my managers, supervisors and agents on various customer service techniques, so my standard may be a little higher than the average person, but there is really no excuse for what happened here: * 20190414 (Sun) - I went to Lowes and tried to order 150 cinder-block end pieces (8-8-16 NORMAL WEIGHT BLCK 15.6-IN, End pieces only) to be delivered to my house. They told me it cant be done because they would have to separate them from a palate. They come mixed on the palate. I countered that I could pull them off the shelf that way, so they should be able to sell them that way as well. The man I spoke with at the pro desk (grey and white goatee) would not sell them. On the way out I stopped and spoke with a manager who said this should be no problem and rung them up for me. He assured me they would break them out of the palate and ship them to my house. I paid for them ($353.60)and set the delivery date to Friday, as I planned on using them that weekend and did not want them in the way all week. I also ordered some stone caps. * 20190419 (Fri) - I arrive home late at night to start my project. I had planned to have one of the palates broken down before morning because I had concrete coming in and it would be in the way. When I cut in to the palate I find that it is mixed and not what I ordered. I call Lowes about this and they come pick it up, promising that first thing Monday (between 6am and 7am) they would pick what they had delivered and would be breaking down palates to fill my order and get it out to me same day. I also asked that they call before coming and was assured they would. * 20190120 (Sat) - At 8am no one had showed up. I called to check and was told they never got the message from the evening shift. The manager I spoke with told me they would send someone out and they would call before they come. * I called the Lowes Corporate number at 800-445-6937 to provide feedback on my experience and sat on hold for 20 minutes before hanging up. * They sent someone out to pick everything up around 1130am without calling ahead as promised. The driver left some of the order behind (stone caps) and had to be called out again. Around 3pm Lowes called me back later (Larry I thing) explaining that the end pieces that I ordered and paid for could not be broken out. I explained that Lowes had already committed to doing this and I had made plans based on that commitment. I asked him to go back and call me when this is figured out. I also told him that I would no longer need the stone caps because I missed the opportunity because everything was not here as planned. About 30 min later I got a call back that this would have to be special ordered and he will call me back to let me know when I can expect shipment. Around 930pm when I had not received a call back I called and spoke with Mike about returned shipment. He said Larry was handling it and should have called me back. He's going to get with Larry and call me back with when it will be delivered and how the refund for the stone caps will be handled on Monday. * 20190122 (Mon) - it is after 10:30am and I still have not received any communication about the special order that will be placed "first thing" You have my money and I sit in Limbo. Points of Failure * Pro Desk did not want to separate palates or place a special order for me so they told me they were just not able to sell me what I wanted. * The wrong thing was delivered. * They did not arrive at the time promised to pick up the incorrect order. * When they finally did come out they did not call first as promised. * They did not pick up the entire order. * Called me back after assuring me they would make this right to tell me they could not sell me what I wanted. Called me back again to say they could sell it to me but it would have to be special ordered and could not give me an ETA till Monday. Customer service rule #1 when dealing with a frustrated customer: Let them vent without interruption. ARepeat back what you heard so they know you understand. Customer service rule #2: Show some understanding and empathy. I am extremely frustrated at the way I have been treated. Recognize that and show some empathy and understanding. Customer service rule #3: Do what you say you are going to do! Never put it back on the customer or tell the customer about all the roadblocks and problems. Just get it done! read more

Horrible customer service! I ordered a washer dryer set from Lowe's online. The order was filled by the Derby, KS location. My first issue is with the delivery. When ordered on 10/22/22 both the washer and dryer were noted as in stock. The delivery was set for the weekend of our move 11/5/22. We received a call the evening before indicating the delivery was being pushed out a week as the washer was not available. I called and was told there were three washers coming in on Monday 11/7 however the delivery would not happen until the following Sunday or Monday as those are the only days they deliver to my area. When asked they were unwilling to make an exception. Despite this inconvenience we waited until Sunday 11/13 for the delivery. The appliances were delivered and the dryer was damaged. The driver indicated we could accept the appliance as is and report the issue to the store within 7 days for replacement or discount. We then discovered the washer was not running properly. The only cycle that worked was the short cycle. I have called the Derby Lowes multiple times everyday since the delivery and have yet to receive a return call from the person in charge "Red". I have been disconnect multiple times when i call. I purchased the extended warranty on both and did not receive any papers verifying the purchase. On the bright side the washer now appears to be working but I still have the unresolved issue with the dryer. By nature I am a patient person and I rarely give a bad review on a business but my frustration with Lowes has hit a peak. I will not make a large purchase from them again. I also am someone who reads reviews as I have found them helpful. My hope is you will read this review and not find yourself in a similar situation. read more

Among many items I regretfully purchased from Lowe's was custom cabinets. The salesperson was trying to upcharge on so many things that I didn't need. My contractor was with me at the time with all measurements. We ended up making the order as to what we needed. The order arrived and instead of an 18-in base cabinet I received a 36-in base cabinet. It took days for someone to finally get back in touch with me and even at that point they never made any attempt to order the correct product. I finally was able to get through to a person named Brandy, who was manager over the specialty items including cabinets. It was absolutely stunning She holds a job in anything to do with customer service, or for that matter holds a job at all. The print out we were given when we made the order had the exact specifications for every cabinet. It showed that we had ordered an 18-in cabinet. I was told by Brandy that there's no way my printout would have fit because we would have needed several other cabinets of different measurement as well. Everything else fit perfectly except for that cabinet and then she said well we must have changed the order. No contrition, no admission of error on their part at all. In fact, when I mentioned how their initial salesperson was all about upcharging She talked about how proud she was of that employee for trying to increase sales. I mentioned derisively that I was sure glad that their associates are concerned about the financial concerns of their customers to which she replied "well it's the customer's job to watch their budget." I went to the North Woodlawn Home Depot in Wichita to order the correct cabinet, no longer willing to spend a dime with Lowe's, especially at the Derby Kansas location. Their cabinet representative was amazing, sent to training for well over 2 months regarding cabinets and their computer system. It arrived 4 weeks later, well before the 8 to 10 weeks that Lowe's claimed it would take to get the correct order in. I was refunded the amount for the incorrect cabinet from Lowe's, but nothing given whatsoever as to the additional labor cost for a cheap temporary cabinet install, the cost of that cabinet, and then labor charges for putting in the correct cabinet once it arrived. When I brought the wrong cabinet back for the refund, I met with this person Brandy directly, and she was even more hostile, no admission of any possible error on their part, despite being presented with the sheet that I was given the night I ordered the cabinet showing the exact correct measurements as to what we needed. She said she didn't want to see it. Her only answer was we must have changed the order which was a lie. She had told my contractor in a three-way call that originally customers such as myself who haven't ordered cabinets before make these mistakes and then when my contractor said he was there with the measurements then she said that he must be an inexperienced contractor, and then she had no reply when he said that he has either built or has been part of building 800 homes. She still can never provide an explanation as to why we received a 36-in base when their printout of what I had ordered showed the correct 18-in cabinet. When I asked to speak to the manager of the store she said "I am the manager" to which I replied "no, the main manager," and then she said "well she isn't here right now" in a very hostile manner. Never do business with Lowe's in Derby, especially regarding cabinets, and never do business with Lowe's at all in that I have complained on their customer service hotline and apparently nothing was done. I have never received any response to my complaint about her, no apologies whatsoever. read more

I here a lot of people talking crap on Lowes, but the things they talk bad about is not enough cash registers open. Also customer service is understaffed. This Lowe's is subpar at best. Two stars might be generous. I have been here countless times, especially while building my shed. During that particular project I had to make special trips to Menards because this Lowe's selection is not very good. I only shop here out of convenience as Home Depot and Menards are quite a bit further. I cannot go through this store without zig zagging in and out of aisles because of all of the material stacked in middle of the aisles. The people that work there are not very knowledgeable and not super helpful. I wish they would close this branch and open a Menards or Home Depot where selection and customer service are much better. The checkouts are about as bad as Wal Mart as even during the weekends they usually only have one register open in the lumber and takes thirty minutes just to check out. read more

There are few times I feel complied to publicly give a company a bad review. We purchased carpet from derby Lowes on Friday. I was told it was in stock and they had 2 rolls in the back. The installer would be calling Monday or Tuesday the schedule install. I called on Monday and got nothing but attitude from Lindsay in installed sales because they have 48 hours to set up the install. I was told she would try to get the installed to call me. No call so I call back and get even more attitude from Lindsay because the installer must be busy and will call with in 24 hours to schedule a time. Noon on Tuesday no call. I call on my lunch break and get Lindsay again she says she will check and call me back. 3 o'clock share calls and says the product was delayed by the truck and they will give me 10% Off. And I will defiantly get a call Wednesday to schedule an install. Wednesday lunch break and no call. I call them and they say the carpet is not in yet and I will get a call as soon as it shows up. 5:50 on my way home no call so I call and Lindsay says carpet is in and some one should have called to tell me that. I say no one called. She says she will talk to that person about that(doubtful). I say I need this done this week we are on a tight schedule and didn't think it would be 5 days before we would be able to schedule the install. She says the installed is not answering phone calls because it is now after 6 and she will call me @10 Thursday to confirm install. 6:45 Wednesday calab calls and apologizes for the confusion and says he will take care of the situation. I tell him this is the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Thursday 10 on the dot(this is the first call they have made to me the entire time) Lindsay says the schedualr had Thursday as the first install time. I say that is a week away we need it installed before that. She says he has a 3 day job that might be over early and if it is they can do it sat. I say that would be awesome please let them know we would really like it done on Sat. They will call Friday and let me know either way. Friday 330 no call so I call the store. They say installed sales has gone home for the day. I say it's only for 330 I need to talk to some one about my carpet install. They say let me get you to a Manger that can help. After 9 minutes on hold I get Brian he says I will call Nathan and call you right back. 515 after work no call from Brian so I call the store. I say Brian said he would call me back at 330 I never got a call. Customer service says oh let me get home for you. I wait on hold for 11 minutes and the the line goes dead. I call back and wait on hold for 9 more minutes and the line goes busy. I call back and get calab he says he is on a forklift and needs so go to the front. He gets to the front and says he will call Nathan and keep me on the line. He calls Nathan and he says he will call him back in 10 minutes. Calab says he will call Nathan in 10 and call me as soon as he finds out if they are coming sat. 10 minutes later calab says they are not coming sat and the install will be Thursday. I say that's dissopointing and really need it in before that. He says if there is a cancellation you are first in the list.. I say all of that because I called Lowes at least 2 times a day for 3 day after giving them 1500 bucks for carpet and got attitude and lots of people that didn't seem to care about me as the customer. Transpeancy and honesty go along way and I don't feel like my experience had much of either. read more

I also had an issue with carpet installation. Paid more than $4k to get my whole house re-carpeted, and their installers broke a window. When I called the store about it, they gave me the runaround, before ultimately telling me I should just claim it on my homeowner's insurance. I told them the deductible exceeded the cost of the window, so I wasn't going to do that. They are not offering to take responsibility for it at all. Apparently I am out of luck, and should have factored permissive property damage into my budget for this project. No one I spoke with at Lowes was helpful in any way, and they made it clear they no longer want my business in the future. Lowes is dead to me. read more

I special ordered white vinyl windows with mini blinds built in the glass for our new home construction. They said it would take 2 1/2 weeks to get in it took almost 8. During this over length time they wouold not cancel the order when I tried to cancel. Brian the store manager said you cannot cancel a special order. After the windows came in they were installed I immediately called Lowe's to have them come out and look at them. They sent 2 guys out and they agreed they were very poor quality of windows and they would not want them in their house. I paid over $25000 on these windows. read more
