When you need a new stove delivered in Greenville, ME, your limited to a very few options, Lowe's Bangor being one of them. I found the stove online and called to place the order so I could discuss delivery specifics. I spoke to customer service, but they couldn't take my order, so I needed to get to appliances. The phone rang, and rang, and rang. If they were trying to discourage me and have me give up and order online, they did not know who they were messing with! Someone eventually got sick of the phone ringing and picked up. I placed the order and was assured I would be called Fri for a Sat delivery to break down the time range for us. Fri came and no call. I had to let the propane guy know when to be at the house to unhook/hook up the new stove. I called Lowe's and after another marathon ringing session, was told someone would call around 6 pm. No one called. By. 8 pm, I called Lowe's to advise them I was coming 3 hrs up there and needed a time, and was given a 4 hr window. Great. Next day, we called to get more of a breakdown and was told about a 3 hr window. There was no talking to the vendor who was actually making the delivery and everything had to go through Lowe's. We did finally get Lowe's to switch our delivery position as gas guy was on his way and somehow by the grace of God everything pulled together, but it was extremely stressful trying to get coordinated with it being a gas appliance and the delivery drivers won't touch it unless it is unhooked. I feel this process for delivery could have run smoother and there could have been more coordination without me having to battle for specifics. Order number 300902275254243374 was placed on 10/2/95 for delivery 10/4/25 between 0830 and 1230. It says on the email when it was out for delivery that someone 18 or older has to be there to sign for it. When it was not here by 1330 I called the store 4x, let it ring 20+ times and never got an answer. I called the nationwide customer service. They connected me with driver dispatch, who connected me to the store in a way I actually got an associate. After she got hold of her manager they said they could leave it without a signature. I did not even care what time it got there As I needed it for 10/5 in the morning. I thanked her and took the girls to Fryeburg. While in Fryeburg I got an email saying the order was delivered. When I got home I found that was untrue. A third of it was delivered. So now I am going to have more hours on the phone tomorrow (Sunday) trying to get my order. And because I need it tomorrow and they probably wont deliver on Sunday I expect they wont bring it and I will have to spend a few more hours going and getting it. What a horrible experience. Picture this, My washer decided it was about 45 years old and she had had enough. She died a watery death that only leaking washers can relate to. Log into lowes because you know.. they have washers on sale and the closest one to me is 140 miles round trip. Order the one I want (Sunday)and they call the next day to let me know they will deliver that Thursday. Mind you, I have four children who tend to need clothes that are clean for school and public appearances at the local grocery store and parks. Well, Thursday comes and goes and I finally call and they inform me they forgot me! Ok well... when can you deliver? Oh, two weeks from now? Ha... no way. So the following Saturday (day seven without a washer) I show up and see if I can just pick it up. JUST GO TO LOWES BREWER! I stopped by at Bangor for convenience, the staff is just very unmotivated. i understand (and it looked like) they are understaffed, however, they have no motivation to help. I was trying to get a craftsman power tool, their inventory said they had it. I assumed it was at their locked inventory over at tools so i walked over to the customer support desk and ask if i could get someone to help me. The person there told me that they were not sure if there was anyone around with a key to the tools... IT WAS A COMBINATION LOCK. The person that ended up opening the case was standing right there at the customer support desk when they said this to me. Again, i was trying to give them a break because they looked understaffed... But then! the guy that finally opened the tool case was in a mood, grabbed a completely different tool without checking their scanner, and when i pointed out that said tool wasn't the one i requested, he got upset and told me "that's what the sicker in the shelf says!", i pointed at the craftsman poster and even gave them the item number, they read the item number out loud trying to prove to me that i was wrong and (finally) they realized their mistake while reading the item back to me, and kept looking for couple of minutes, but couldn't find the item; apparently there were a few in stock MIA, but i get it, it is a BIG store to keep track of everything, so thats fine. Since the Lowe's website showed no other store with the promotion items in stock, i asked about paying for one of the promotional items here and maybe pickup the other at Brewer; I could have taken a "I'm sorry, that cant be done unfortunately" but no, they straight up told me "I can do something but it is too much of a mess for me to try it". I finally, said, no worries, and just left. I NEVER write negative reviews since i also worked at sales/customer support, and i am aware that people can be impossible to deal with, however, the way the handle my shopping experience truly leaves A TON to wish for. This is the third time that Bangor disappoints me, I am not going there anymore. I'll just do the haul to Brewer later; they are SO MUCH better and on top of their game. read more

They double charged my credit card for my dishwasher after already screwing up our delivery to the point where we had to drive the 2 hours to pick it up. The associates both in store and over the phone were no help. Since they double charged me for my appliances, my credit card went over the limit and they started declining my other purchases. So disappointed in Lowes of Bangor, Maine used to think it was a reputable company not so much anymore: Ordered on-line a new gas stove July 26th. The first delivery the stove was dented in several places in the front and sides no hiding that so we declined delivery. Not a peep from the store until I called customer service 2 weeks later over the holiday weekend..Where they said it was coming from a distribution center in Connecticut. You'd think they would examine the goods before transporting them well no once again the 2nd stove arrived quite dented and unable to open bottom drawer on September 13th Rob accepted it as is I said nope not spending $999 on merchandise so dented you can't close drawer. So they picked it up the fellows who picked it up said discount wasn't high enough? I was like what discount none was offered! So here it is September 19th my bank is still not credited for the stove that we returned with the flip response that it can take 15 days depending on the bank! I bought a GE refrigerator from Lowe's in November and had one problem after another with it. I won't go into that. After having it for more than two months, I just wanted a different one. I talked to several people at Lowe's over a period of several days and they agreed to send a tech out to take a look at it. Before the tech could get here, the refrigerator died. I called again, upset that I could lose all of my food. Without even asking for an exchange, Katie, the Service manager called me and said that she had heard about how unhappy I was with my purchase. She asked me to come in the store and pick out a new one and Lowe's would pick up the one I had bought two months previously. I picked out a Samsung and paid the difference between the two appliances. Katie bent over backwards to make this right and to make sure that I was happy. I was so impressed with her professionalism and her determination to do the best thing she could for a customer. Katie works at the Lowe's store in Bangor, Maine. Living in Portland, looking for a vanity for my parents who live in the bangor area; I called the store and asked the operator to transfer me to someone who could help me with a bathroom vanity, got transferred to plumbing. I first asked her if she had any refurbished vanities or ones that were returned, but she told me they had some on clearance. I said great! Before I drive up do you mind looking for a size for me?! She said I would have to come in or check online, she was too busy. She was a little snotty, but i understood due to working customer service before, so I thanked her and looked online. I saw a 42' online in my price range so I called again and asked the operator to transfer me to someone who could help, and that wasn't as busy...I got transferred to a man, I asked him if he knew of any 42' vanities on sale, and he interrupted me and said he hasn't seen a 42' vanity in years. (Tons online at every store I've looked at) and I said "oh okay! Well I found one online, I have the item number If you could please check and see if you have it in stock. And if not see how I could go about ordering it and having it delivered to your location...(still trying to be as cheery and nice as I could!) he said. Ummm nope I have no time. I'm all by myself (after getting transferred to plumbing once before not even 5 minutes prior I knew this was less than likely to be true) and I said oh okay! Do you know who could help? Honestly not impressed with the customer service at all. We knew what we wanted, a GE oven, the same one we have in our condo in Florida, so picking out the right one was fast and easy, a man started off asking questions but I knew immediately what I wanted, and I think that took him by surprise. When we got to costumer service counter to buy the stove the individual working at the counter did not have the right attitude, she seemed like she was annoyed that she had to wait on us. The worst possible home improvement company that could be. While they promise "Professional Installation" and they promise "a Project Specialist" to see you through your projects ~BEWARE~ none of that happened. Even after the multiple changes in schedules and giving over our home for months, the poor installation of cabinets and kitchen appliances, windows, and deck, because of the poor and shoddy installation cost us thousands to repair and have it corrected. The lack of care and professional workmanship also resulted in a kitchen fire because the cabinets were installed improperly next to the stove. There was absolutely no assistance or followup done with any "Project Specialist" (your Grandmother would be more of a specialist and we are being kind here). Basically in the end we were told to "deal with it" ourselves and these "Specialists" and remember Lowes did all the hiring of the companies and workers that they sent out to represent them; not us. No matter. The work was shoddy, dangerous, and ended up costing over $8000 in repairs and to get the installations up to code and to be able to be safe in our own home. Do yourself a favor and hire a "ReaL" "Professional" "Contractor" and save yourself the money, heartache, and possible dangerous living situation we were forced into and possibly one you could have never known about. A horrible experience and we hope no one else ends up with the same problems or at least if you do, do it at your own risk. Have every change signed and dated including on your receipts, and NO MATTER WHAT, take pictures, make them sign the time they start and stop every single day and include EVERY piece of equipment that they used down to each nail, screw, and board.
