We recently had a wedding reception at Daylee Public House and Megan of Simply Irresistible…read morecatered it. Words can't express how wonderful every aspect of the party was. The bride is Indian, both bride and groom are vegetarian, some guests were Vegan and others were Wisconsin meat eaters!!! EVERY aspect of this party, from start to finish, was PERFECT!!!! Megan took such trouble to create a menu that met everybody's dietary needs. The food was homemade and wonderful. All of our guests gushed over the food and drinks. Megan's father tended bar and made fabulous drinks. Weather was such that Megan had the huge glass "garage door" open so people meandered from patio to indoor area. Megan's attention to detail, smiling disposition and professionalism resulted in an A+++++ party. If you are in need of a caterer, CALL HER! Warm Regards! Sheri, Todd, Niki and Aaron

We a breakfast potato skin one with bacon and the other with sausage and each with an over easy egg which were delicious. Couldn't leave without having buffalo chicken egg rolls with homemade ranch and blue cheese dressing, outstanding! Well we couldn't pass the freezer without taking home two containers of homemade soup. I suggest stopping by and meeting Megan her business is a great story to hear and the food is well worth the trip.

Food was a really important aspect for our wedding as we are both "foodies". We had tastings with…read morefour different caterers, and Lee John's was by far the best! My husband was sick the day of our tasting, and they kindly packed everything to go for me to take home to him! During the process, they worked with me to follow the timeline I wanted, and everything ran smoothly! The appetizers were actually unreal--we have been getting so many compliments on how good they were (ponzu beef kebabs, ahi tuna, potato stack, scallop). The entrees were also excellent--seriously recommend the chefs persailldes chicken. Communication was occasionally spotty. We had a few different coordinators during the planning process (we also booked them almost a year and a half out). In the end, Carrie was extremely responsive and everything went so smoothly day of! HIGHLY recommend using them as your caterer!

Apps: the spotted cow with a curd and brat is just such a Wisconsin classic, guest enjoyed that novelty. The au gratin potato stacks also were a big hit. We had the perch taco and the lamb chops as our other two apps, also both great. For the brides salad, we added some chèvre and pecans which was a nice touch. Dinner: The beef tenderloin was cooked perfectly. The phyllo mashed potatoes are such a fun twist. Presented so beautifully guests almost didn't know it was edible at first but then everyone raved about them! Dessert: all amazing, personally never even saw them at my wedding because guests loved them so much they were gone so fast! Lee Johns does a truly unbelievable job catering large weddings, you will not be disappointed! We worked with Sarah and everything from the tasting, the to the organization with the emails and proposals, to execution on wedding day. They were huge part of making our day perfect!

Ordered catering for Thanksgiving this year - figured why not, nothing else is the same! I'd had…read moretheir meals at Ruby Tap and enjoyed them so I thought that would be a safe choice. I chose prix fixe for four people. We chose to do ham, classic stuffing, maple carrots, pimento mac and cheese and rolls. The menu said mashed potatoes/gravy and salad were included in this choice. Pickup was pretty slick, not many cars in the queue and employees had all food pre-boxed up and ready to go. I drove the 25 minutes over there, got my box, and drove the 25 minutes home. Then I noticed that they omitted my salad. I called them and they said I could drive back out there for the salad... so I did. (in total i spent 100 minutes in the car going back and forth to get the food. On the day of thanksgiving we realized that they gave us the wrong stuffing as well. The ham was measured out by pound and we got 2 lbs for four people - which would have been fine if 60% of it wasn't fat! We ended up putting more in the dog bowl than on our plates. The reheating instructions stated that we needed to put all the food in the oven covered to reheat it, and they gave us paper lids??? So then I had to use a bunch of foil to cover all the items. The mac and cheese (which is made with penne?) had no pimentos in it (i figured the red pimentos would be easy to see) but it didn't get any love as it was BONE dry pasta noodles. Bummer. The mashed potatoes, [forgotten] salad, and carrots were good, though the carrots were devoid of any maple flavors. For $200 we all just expected more. Just another case of restaurants over-selling to the point of mixing up too many things. I probably wouldn't order from them again.
