Well, traveling and being new in town caught up to my GI system per my usual. During my travels to Portland, I prebooked a visit a day or two before arrival to Portland to get some relief. I have had colonics before in other states but never had a male practitioner. However, Alex was very cool and had good vibes. We talked a lot during the process which made me feel super comfortable. I appreciated the chill environment during this intimate process. I left feeling lighter and relieved. Overall, I would highly recommend it and will be back in the future when the need arises. read more

Wow. What an amazing miracle to decisive Alec's life changing, highly skillful work. I have received a couple of colonics from Alec over the past couple of years, and I just had the blessing of receiving another one. Because he was the only practitioner I had seen in the past, I had nothing to compare him to and had no idea just how unique his sessions are and how utterly skilled he is. This winter, my partner had major digestive issues and needed an emergency (truly, it was dire) colonics session while out of state. I was sad and dismayed when I heard about how the practitioner left the room for large portions of time, leaving my partner alone with just the running "colonic machine." Needless to say, these other colonics were minimally effective. We couldn't wait to get back to Oregon to book sessions with Love Being. Alec's sessions, IN CONTRAST to the other practitioners my partner worked with, are deeply transformative, highly effective at clearing massive amounts of fecal matter out of the body. Alec stays in the room the whole time, guiding the water through a peristaltic squeezing and releasing of the hose. He very skillfully massages the abdomen, very engaged in every moment of the whole process, and offering insightful reflections of what he perceives to be happening with the process. My partner and I both left Alec's studio feeling lighter, clearer, leaving behind unneeded, stale heaviness, and taking with us a huge sense of relief and some lifestyle adjustments to keep the feeling of cleanness alive as long as possible! I would highly recommend anyone to work with Alec. He is deeply intuitive and compassionate, highly skilled and insightful. Thank you, Alec, for the amazing work that you do. read more

I have been in Portland on vacation for 5 days and I needed services for which a hydro colonic is the best approach. Despite Alec's full practice, he was able to work creatively to fit me in. I've had these services before and I found Alec to be professional, focused and competent. Sometimes with other practioners, I've been subject to sales pressure to buy a product or receive unsolicited advice on my diet, exercise, sleep, relationships etc. Alec didn't do any of those things; instead he was focused on the process at hand. If I lived here, Alec would be my go-to guy for all things hydro-colonic. Highly recommended! read more

There are too many amazing things I could share about Alec and so few characters allowed in this review box. Alec's work, his attentive nature, and his warm and relaxing personality all come together to create a deeply healing experience, every time I have had the pleasure to see him. His understanding of the inner workings of the digestive system lead to thorough cleansing that no other colon hydrotherapist I have seen can come close to. The method he uses, the gravity colonic, is by far the best and most elegant technology out there: non-invasive, effective, and embracing of bio-mimicry (it mimics the colon's peristalsis, rather than forcing like a machine does). And if anyone reading this is curious about Alec's other offerings, the Shamanic Colonic is unlike anything else I have ever partaken in. Deep, ancestral opening, energetic movement, and entirely relaxing are a few words that come to mind. Alec is the best at what he does. I pray that you find an opening in his busy schedule to experience what he does and who he is first hand. read more

Reiki + Colonic = YOU NEED TO EXPERIENCE it together. Such a extraordinary beautiful cleansing experience. The place is well kept and clean. Alec is really professional and friendly. I have been to two other colonic places in Portland and they have been with women and I can truly say that the energy was a little uncomfortable and it felt rushed. So glad to have found a place to go and recommend!! read more

Wow! All I can say is, PLEASE GO GET A TREATMENT FROM THIS MAN! I have never felt more clear, light, and vibrant in my body, from the very core. He offers a very valuable service and I will definitely see Alec as often as I can. Having never received a colonic before, I felt a slight nervousness going into the unknown, but I felt immediately at ease in Alec's presence. You'll know what I mean when you meet him. He radiates a palpable peace and he guided me through the experience with great care and a loving and very professional demeanor. Throughout the session, he would honor my curiosity and questions, teaching me a lot about the digestive system, the process of detoxification, and the roots of true health. In addition to his professional knowledgability, I especially appreciated the encouragement he would give, something as simple as, "great job, Alison," whenever I would have a release of whatever I was holding, a small verbal indication of just how deeply PRESENT he is throughout the process. Alec also does very skillful hands-on work, massaging the abdomen and back in a supportive way during the hydrotherapy session. Alec is a truly exceptional human being, a radiant example of what true health looks and feels like. I leave his studio feeling amazingly vibrant in my body, and deeply inspired (by his example) to continue to eat well and take care of my body in all the ways possible, so that the vibrant health continues. read more

I have been seeing Alec for over 3 years for colonics. There genuinely is nobody I could trust and recommend more to aid in your journey to health. Alec is intelligent, wise and a true healer. He is passionate about his job and brings a gentle spirit to the table. He performs gravity fed colonics which are quite gentle and his space is always clean. I recommend him and his services to anyone who is looking to deepen their journey of health and wellness! read more

Alec is an amazing Practioner. He is so passionate and compassionate that I felt incredibly safe. I will as able to completely transform and heal after a myriad of health crises. Alec is wonderful and such a great advocate for health. He made my experience comfortable and easy going and I felt great afterwards. I highly recommend Love Being for your next colonic! read more

Alec is the best in the biz when it comes to Portland hydrotherapy. Perhaps even one of the best west of the Mississippi given his lineage via Chakra 17 on the east coast (through whom he was trained). If you are a first timer or a woman I would highly recommend Alec for his gentle approach and vast knowledge of full body detox. I learned more about true health from him than I fed any ND (and definitely any MD) that I saw during my battle with chronic illness. I can't say enough about how great he is! The best thing you can do for your health along with eating clean! read more

Alec is an amazing soul & vessel for healing, and colon hydrotherapist. I first found Alex a couple years ago while visiting Portland for my best friend's wedding & scheduled colonics for myself, her, and her sister. It was our first times ever getting one and Alec makes the session extremely comfortable, informative, healing, and transformative. We all felt and looked great immediately after the session. Since then every time I visit Portland I make sure to schedule a session with him, and recently haven't needed a colonic, so I've had a couple energy healing sessions with him. Both times, different things surfaced to heal and clear and to give me insight & support during these specific moments in life. I trust Alec with my whole being & am in deep gratitude for having connected with him and will continue to prioritize seeing him when I come to Portland. I'm extremely particular with who I allow to access my energy, especially being in grad school for Chinese medicine with a background in sports medicine, and Alec thus far is the only one that I've allowed and feel completely comfortable with. read more

I received a treatment from Alec shortly after moving to Portland in 2015. As a fellow practitioner, I recognized Alec's incredible ability from the moment we met. He is kind, gentle, knowledgeable, wise, and a highly skilled colonic therapist. He holds space with grace, integrity and compassion. Let Alec guide you on this incredible journey of wellness that gravity colonics can offer you - you are in the most capable and loving care. read more

I have been getting colonics with Alec for 3 years. I went to see him because i had gastritis, parasites and fungus problems. Now My parasites, fungus and gastritis are gone! I lost 20lbs finally and had been trying to lose that weight thru diet and exercise before but was unsuccessful. I feel clean, light, healthy and energized. Alec is super kind, warm and knowledgeable. His space is very clean and calming. read more

Alec is a tremendously gifted healer. I've seen him many, many times. I always leave feeling more grounded, lighter, and clearer. If you're considering a colonic, I challenge you to find a more attentive and caring provider. read more

Alec was recommended to me by another energy healer who I see and I am so blessed to have connected with him. I instantly felt a deep and strong connection with him as he is filled with great energy, a warm calming vibe, and has a wise spiritual presence that radiates healing and love! His colonic work has transformed my life since starting a few months ago and since then I have received his shamanic energy colonics which is an indescribably powerful experience, unlike any other healing or energy work I have received before. I couldn't be happier with the work I've had done with Alec, it's exceeded all my expectations and I know I have found a healer for life. I would recommend him to anyone. Words cannot describe how incredible Alec and the work he performs is, one must experience it first hand. Alec is a wizard beyond any doubt and name of his practice hits home and radiates truth! Thanks, Alec! Namaste Brother read more

I've had many colonics over the past couple of years from 3 good practitioners and once on a Libby system. The other 2 used closed systems. But Alec and the gravity system are my favorite. If you need a colonic (which you probably do), just go here, you won't regret it. I do believe that the gravity system helps gets deeper into your colon. The releases are more profound. It can be much more intense (in a good way - when it's over, you feel MUCH better). Besides the system however, Alec is also a wonderful practitioner. He is kind, patient, really knowledgable, and enjoyable to talk to. He uses abdominal massage and acupressure points to help trigger release and it really works. He's truly passionate about helping people heal. He does accept credit cards for a small ($3) extra fee. Overall, the price is very reasonable and the value superb. And I much prefer going to Alec over some corporate, clinical environment, even if it were cheaper. This is definitely my go-to spot for a colonic as long as I'm in Portland. Thank you Alec! *Update: Since writing my original review I've gone to Alec many times over. We've become friends and he is one of the coolest, most conscious people I know. Look no further for a colonic, counseling, dietary help, or energy work. Bring Alec into your life and I'm positive you will be thankful for it! read more

I am a Naturopathic Physician and Acupuncturist who has been seeing Alec both personally and referring many of my clients to him professionally for over 5 years. After having other colonic methods and therapists over the years I have never found anyone with the unique combination of skill, energy work, intuition, and incredible bedside manner that he possesses. It has been an honor to be treated by him and an honor to work alongside such a gifted healer as he has helped all of the people I have referred to him. They often thank me for the referral, commenting on his amazing calmness and ability to put even the most anxious person at ease around colon hydrotherapy. What he offers is no joke, it is authentic powerful healing. I can not give him a high enough recommendation. read more

I have been seeing Alec since 2008 for colonics and there is NO ONE else I would rather get a colonic from. It is important to feel comfortable with the person you are working with and the type of equipment they use. Going to Alec for colonics is as sweet as getting a colonic can actually be and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. He is gentle, knowledgeable and genuinely kind and loving. His gravity style colonic system I find to be gentler, more effective and overall superior to other styles of colon hydrotherapy. I have referred many friends to Alec over the years and they always rave about him afterwards too. I find that getting colonics seasonally (or more frequently during cleanses or detox periods) is in itself one of the BEST things I have found to support my health and well being. It really is a wonderful experience and I always leave feeling like I just did something really great for myself. read more

If you want a colonic- Alec is the best person to go to. His gentle approach and intention setting environment make the colonics a welcome experience. He is always willing to work with my busy schedule and is very responsive when scheduling. I came back from a trip to Asia with a very bloated and upset GI and after 2 colonics with him my digestion was 100 times better. Alec is a special spirit and his presence is healing. I always leave feeling like I am back on track in my physical and emotional body. read more

I have been working with Alec for colon hydrotherapy to help treat chronic constipation related to SIBO for the last three years. I was so nervous and scared at first and Alec is so gentle and such a calm, gifted practitioner I was immediately at ease. His sessions are more than just colonics. They are holistic and even spiritual in nature encompassing the physical, emotional and spiritual body. I have grown to be very good friends with Alec over the years as colonics are a very personal process and also simply from the time spent together. I fully trust Alec with my health care and I highly, highly recommend him. He is an amazing human. read more

Finding Alec @ Love Being was life changing. I'd never had a colonic and was hopeful that it would help me on my road of healing. Alec's gentle, kind wisdom was an added gift, giving me confidence that healing was possible. I brought my own set of challenges and was met with nothing but acceptance. Alec would explain what was happening and left me feeling like there wasn't anything wrong with me (which for me was huge!). read more

This is an important, under-recognized health endeavor. It also is a mediation in letting go, serving and bonding with your body. I think it's profound at teaching people about their, body, organs, energy and overall the health of their entirety. Alec is gifted at serving people in this way. Marcella T. read more

Alec is one of the best colonic therapists there is. He is an indirect disciple of the legendary colonic guru Gil Jacobs from New York City, employing the Woods gravity method. Other methods of colon cleansing have become more popular in recent years, and some claim this is because they are better, but this is simply not true. I've had hundreds of colonics over the past 25 years, and the gravity method - administered by an adept therapist - is by far the most effective way to remove accumulated waste from the bowels. Fortunately for Portlandians, Alec is an amazing therapist. Not only is his technique very effective, and his bedside manner welcoming and comforting, but most importantly he CARES about getting results for you. And not just because he's running a business. But because he knows from personal experience how wonderfully transformative it is to remove poop from your colon that's been stuck there for years. To colonic virgins, the process may seem a little off-putting at first, but it's perfectly safe and Alec ensures you are as comfortable as possible. I can assure you it's an experience you will cherish afterwards. You feel like a new person: clear headed, happy, vibrant and energetic. Your complexion even improves. If, like me, you grew up eating the typical American diet heavy on meat, dairy, refined sugar and flour and fried food, you have pounds of uneliminated poop stuck in your bowels. No matter how you eat and live now, it remains there, causing premature ageing and possibly degenerative disease down the road. Do yourself a huge favor and start working to eliminate it. It is the best thing you can possibly do for your body, mind and spirit. read more

I started seeing Alec after I had my gallbladder removed and was having digestion issues. He was a huge part of my healing. I've had a number of colonics with different people, but no one compares to Alec. The experience I have with him is entirely different. He's so gracious and caring and always explains what's going to happen next. When the going gets "rough", he's always quick to comfort. I leave feeling lighter on so many levels. I've recommended him to a number of friends and will continue doing so for the rest of time. The idea of a colonic might be scary, but don't listen to everything you hear or read about them. It's one of the best health practices and investments I've made for myself. Thank you, Alec! read more

I am a medical doctor and food-based nutritionist helping women with weight loss, emotional trauma, self care, and autoimmune health. I see a lot of tummy troubles. Since 2010, Alec has been the one and only practitioner I refer to for GENTLE, THOROUGH cleansing of the lower GI tract. As many may not realize, the gut is known in indigenous medical doctrines as the seat of emotions. The GI tract is both a tenacious and extremely delicate region of the psycho-physical and emotional body systems, and Alec is a jewel among practitioners in managing this nuance. He handles this delicate aspect of the body with extreme focus, great intuition, a soothing touch, and thorough care. Alec is a one-of-kind practitioner. He is able to know just where to "work"," just how much to work, and just how to coach to provide a gentle yet thorough clearing. As I've said, the emotional aspects of gut issues can be very real and tender, and Alec has an incredible knack for identifying and firmly "progressing" what is ready to be moved. On top of his careful technical skill, Alec's personality and GIANT HEART glow when he is at work, a thing which makes each and every client--woman or man--feel incredibly nurtured, safe, and secure. Alex is an exquisite practitioner. He gets the job done quickly and cleanly and makes even the most shy individual feel comfortable. I wish every clinician of the gut could experience this level of care and sensitivity and thoroughness. It would transform the field of gastroenterology. read more

I just can't say enough about my experience with Alec. Getting a colonic seems like a weird and private thing to most, so the fact that it was SO good that I was compelled to write a review about it, says a lot. ;) He offers a professional, gentle and compassionate experience set in a spa-like, comfortable setting. I think it is different for everyone, but for me, it was truly cathartic. YEARS of crap literally was released from me and along with all of the literal sludge, came all the emotional sludge that was attached to it and hanging on. There was no pain or grossness during or after. I just felt really really good. Lighter and happier. I would HIGHLY recommend doing it. Before choosing Alec, I researched it a lot and talked so several other places in town and just got the best vibe from him. Very reasonable with pricing too. If you are even a little hesitant, don't be. You'll be glad you did it and likely compelled to review about it after too. :) So great! read more

I have had the pleasure of working with Alec since 2008. Alec is a true healer and brings a wealth of knowledge to his practice. I have recommended him to many of my clients and friends and they are all very pleased with the results and with the calm and attentive presence, Alec brings to his practice. I recently started another series of colonics at Alec's new space, which is soothing, beautiful and welcoming, bringing a sense of calm to every visit. It has been three years since my last colonic and this series has been amazing. I lost weight and released toxins, emotionally, physically and mentally. Here's to letting go of what does not serve our holistic wellbeing. read more

If you are searching for a place to get a colonic, look no further! Alec provides a safe and healing space for a procedure that can feel uncomfortable and invasive when not performed properly. He is part technician, part cheerleader, and part therapist-- all of which make it easier to "let go". He uses a very simple gravity based system, which I was surprised worked so well. My first introduction to colonics was with a system that requires you to hold in the water which to me can sometimes feel uncomfortable. This system is more gentle, which help you relax, which in turn helps you get better results. In addition, Alec is a lovely human being, and is very gifted at getting you to focus on what you need in order to release what you need. I never feel weird about getting a colonic with him and have in fact referred friends as well as patients to him. read more

I have had the pleasure of being Alec's client for over 2 years now and every colonic I receive from him proves time and time again what an exceptional healer he really is. His healing is body, mind, and spirit and you leave feeling closer to person you were always meant to be. What makes Alec such a great healer is the energy he carries with him. You instantly feel comfortable and at ease in his presence. He will listen to your concerns and guide you every step of the way and you know you are in trustworthy hands. I have many food allergies and a sensitive digestive system but since seeing him regularly (about once every 6-8 weeks) my health has experienced a total rejuvenation. I have been able to heal issues with constipation, candida overgrowth, inflammation, fatigue, and acne. No matter what you are trying to heal, even if you just want to jump start your health, anyone can benefit from colonics. I cannot recommend Alec and his practice more. If you are interested in true, root level, healing then do yourself a favor and schedule and appointment with Alec. read more

Alec is absolutely incredible and is the definition of a Love Being in it's highest form. Everyone needs to go and get the Shamanic Colonic, it is life changing. My time with Alec at Love Being has been nothing short of a pivotal, life-transforming experience that has continued to grow in the past month following my appointment. I have felt blockages release and old stuck patterns fade away. It was as if I was a brand new human afterward. I was so much lighter both physically and energetically. The night after my second appointment I could literally feel myself vibrating, it was incredible. It felt like there was a deep deprogramming taking place that is continuing to unfold and integrate into my life. The shamanic session before the colonic was a really powerful experience and allowed my body and energy to gracefully relax and let go. Alec has an incredible gift and I'm very grateful to be a recipient of it. read more
