My daughters and I had lice. Ugh. I didn't know what to do so I texted LouseCalls, such a clever name, and Amy answered right away. I specifically asked for Sue bc she'd done another friends family and came highly recommended. Sue came to the house the next morning and treated my daughters and I. Follow their simple instructions and you will be lice free. I did opt for re-treatment to make sure we were all clear. Some people may think it's pricey but I'm not about to play around with lice. The convenience of having an option for a house call was a plus! My favorite thing of all though are the reminder emails that tell you what to do and how to care for your home. 17 years ago, I called on Amy when lice went wild after a school field trip. Not only did she and her team take care of my hair, but they treated my neighbors too -- we basically had a lice party at my house! Fast forward to today -- I frantically texted Louse Calls and sent a photo of what I'd combed out. Lice is inevitably a panic, but I called louse calls and they made everything better. My daughter was treated, everyone in the house was checked, and, most importantly, we were calmed. I reached out at 8 pm and we had Sue (who was great!) at our home 10 am the next morning. I would have otherwise been a crazy person and I am thankful this service exists. It WAS a bit expensive. A little foam and conditioner should have probably been less, or the $35 for travel could have been waived with treatment - something like that. My son and I were treated. Our experience was over priced and mediocre. After being treated and paying $345 for my son and I that included the retreat made of ingredients you can get in store. I agree with the negative reviews shown below. The process was fairly quick.. the technician had me wet my hair and put MY OWN conditioner and then she put what smelled like olive oil on and after a minute i had to shower. I had no idea, but I felt uncomfortable with someone in my house while I showered. Anyway, you could do this treatment at home. We were left underwhelmed at our experience with Louse Calls. I felt confused and dismayed. Yes, they come to your home. Yes, they have a special nit comb (which you can find at ULTA). Yes, they are courteous, on time and pleasant. But... Their website is incredibly misleading. I was under the impression that the LouseCalls lice inspector/remover would remove lice by combing and hand-pick nits. *This was not the case.* They simply put in an olive oil and mint concoction into the hair, hair conditioner and then comb in sections. There is no nit-picking by hand. There was no magnifying glasses or lights to thoroughly inspect hair and find nits. It was just an overpriced combing session that I could have simply managed myself at home. My child, who had a confirmed case of lice, was done with her treatment in about 30 minutes. It easily takes me over two hours to properly inspect my child's hair and look for nits. AND I do it with a magnifying glass and l.e.d. light. After 30 minutes of my child's treatment I heard, "I'm all done. God job, you got most everything. I found only 3 nits." THAT cost us their full price of treatment. WTF? I was expecting at least two hours for a proper job. I was expecting the magnifying headset you see in the photo on the website. The most discouraging part was, the very next day I found a nit square in the middle of my child's head. The day after that I found a nit hatching in the hair. I'm still combing and having to treat my child. This was a complete let down. PLEASE, ask up front about their method and be prepared to be pulling nits yourself. If I trusted them and didn't look for nits afterwards, my child would be in the midst of another lice life-cycle. I have reached out to Louse Calls for feedback. I am hoping there will be some resolution to my let down of their service so I don't feel robbed. read more

I do not know what I would have done without LouseCalls and the wonderful Bibi! Our daughter came back from a one month vacation with a head full of nits and bugs. I spent a full day of applying a treatment I bought from Walmart and combing through my daughters hair with the HORRIBLE comb provided in a box of Nix. After hours of work, I was at my wits end and decided to search our area to see if someone provided a service to help me with getting this gross infestation out of my daughters hair. We found the website and submitted our number for a callback. The owner of the company called me back about 30 minutes later and we spoke about the problem. Due to time constraints, my family was going to be traveling over the next week and a half, but Amy (the owner) assured me that she had a technician who could meet us wherever we were going to be. We set up an appointment for two days later in the hotel we had previously booked. Vacation uninterrupted!! On the scheduled day, our technician, Bibi, arrived and proceeded to do head checks on us and treat my daughter. She was well mannered, very friendly, and an all around NICE woman. My daughters infestation was so bad that Bibi had to do several "go-overs" of my daughters hair, all the while explaining things to me and educating us on Louse infestations. She was extremely good at what she did, and her technique was flawless. When she was finished, I was offered to purchase some of the products they use to treat and prevent infestations. She proceeded to comb through my daughters hair showing me that MOST, if not ALL, of the nits and bugs were gone from my baby girls scalp and hair. We slept very soundly that night, I promise! THE COMB IS THE KEY, PEOPLE. This is a little miracle with teeth. Well, the comb and the technique, of course (which I will NOT give away :-) ). LouseCalls uses a comb that you just can't find in any package or store around. Trust me....I had bought several from Walgreens and Walmart and they were all worthless. We scheduled a follow-up visit for one week later, and again, Bibi came to our hotel (as we were still on vacation). She did a thorough check of my daughters hair and we got the all clear that we were LOUSE FREE! I've read these other reviews here and no were does it state on the website or in conversation with the owner that these fine folks at LouseCalls will come to your home and clean it for you. There is some work involved on the parents part, but that is to be expected. I was required to comb through my daughters hair 3 times over the course of the week before retreatment, but that was nothing since Bibi had already done all the work. I did buy a comb and a bottle of preventative, bringing my total to $268 for 1 treatment/+retreat, and 2 head checks. I would HIGHLY recommend LouseCalls to anyone who would need this service. I have 5 kids and 3 of them are bi-racial ( African American). After dealing with this nightmare for a second time I called in the professionals! Angela was our technician, she came right away, she educated me on what to do, and how I can protect my family in the future. She did a great job ( treating six of us!) she was calm, kept my kids calm, and was very thorough even with my one child with hair so coarse and curly you can't get a comb through. So, I was new to the world of lice, and I was mortified. Called Lousecalls at 10 at night on a Thursday. They didn't answer right away, but Amy texted me immediately and someone was at my house the following afternoon. Yup, 'twas expensive, but I paid more for them to check my head because I have a ton of hair. Lisa, who was our technician, removed all the bugs and most of the nits/eggs. Now, I did find some nits soon after Lisa left, and Amy did ask me to take a picture, which I initially thought was tacky, but it is what it is, and I was told very clearly that I would have to retreat. I did, and I followed the instructions to the letter, and we are completely lice free. read more

Had an amazing experience! The woman Barbara that came to our home was friendly, prices are reasonable, she is professional and was done within one hour. We had used Delray Clinique 4 days prior to calling Louse Calls and it was the worlds worst experience. The Delray Clinique had us there Six hours and six hours later we left there with over 21 eggs in my daughters hair. Louse calls did use magnifying glasses while looking through my daughters hair and manually removed all the eggs. Louse calls is doing a follow up visit this January 18, 2014. I have to agree with both Isabelle R. and Tessa M. My kids never had lice before and initially, it is very overwhelming, especially if you are clean freaks like my family. We spent an absolute fortune and after the fact, the family and friends I discussed this with were shocked that we spent so much money instead of treating it ourselves at home. Two weeks later, I discovered nits in my child's hair again. I immediately contacted the company, but much to my dismay, they weren't very helpful. Both the owner and her assistant asked me a series of questions and no matter what my response was, they found a way to discount my concerns or blame me for my daughter's re-infestation. They said that I should have paid them over $200 to return to our home to retreat us 7-10 days after their first visit (I did it at home using the products that they sold me). Upon discovering that my child had lice, I notified everyone we had been around in the preceding days (how embarrassing) and my neighbors went to the Lice Clinique (their family of 5 was completely clear) and another family erred on the side of caution and treated her kids with OTC products from a drugstore. Amy, the owner, had the audacity to tell me that the Lice Clinique must not have checked the family thoroughly and the OTC products probably didn't work for the other family, so those kids must have passed the lice back to my kids. (When I told this to my neighbor this morning, she pointed out that our kids haven't played together in two weeks as they had been on vacation). Additionally, they requested a photo be texted of the nits I found. When I questioned how such a small thing could be seen in detail from a cell phone photo , the assistant ensured me "that they diagnose lice this way all the time." Of course, when I sent two photos, they couldn't see it. On a positive note, the technician was very nice, although her arrival was delayed multiple times and we waited for her all day (I used that time to wash and vacuum EVERYTHING). Additionally, Amy sends out informative emails following the visit regarding household cleaning tips, combing, and retreating. However, in retrospect, I realize I made a costly mistake contacting this company. Yesterday, after my unsuccessful resolution with Louse Calls, I went to Tea-n-Sanity, a local organic tea, herb, and essential oil shop (it was closed the day I initially discovered the lice, which is why I called Louse Calls) and the owner, Eunice, made us an all natural, medicinal grade lice oil and a shampoo for $35.00. Eunice, who is extremely knowledgeable, was appalled when I told her that we had paid almost $500 to remove lice and she stated that the only way to defeat it is with a lice comb and oils, such as tea tree, rosemary, and oregano. She felt so badly after hearing about my Louse Calls experience and expense that she said she felt guilty charging me!! At any rate, get the Terminator lice comb from Ulta like Tessa M recommended and follow Isabelle R's cleaning instructions and go from there. Definitely do not spent the hundreds of dollars that Louse Calls charges unless you are very wealthy and have plenty of money to spare (and don't mind a re-infestation 2 weeks out). read more

Called them, they came right away. Great service. Except I think they are WAY overpriced. I scheduled a retreatment, but considering canceling and getting the oils from Tea n Sanity and retreating myself. They also used baking soda. I sent an email asking for a fairer price for retreatment. I will update this post after I hear from them. That said my daughter has ASD and the technician did a great job and was very patient with her. Overall happy, so far. Louse calls was amazing! Great service! Knowledgeable people! My daughter had head lice so we called them and they were at our house within a few hours. Needless to say we were freaking out a little. Sue, the technician, was amazing, comforting, and sweet! She treated my daughter and immediately my daughter felt so much better! She checked my whole family and thankfully no one else had it. We followed the directions she had told us to do throughout the week, and when she came for the retreat a week later, we were completely lice free! Best part is, they use essential oils blend! THis was the fourth time in 5 years that my kids came home with lice. Each time, I went crazy: sterilizing sheets, blankets, throwing out pillows, sealing stuffed animals in bags, quarantining the bedrooms for 2 weeks! Well, by now I called for help. LouseCalls came to my house on a holiday, treated my daughter and checked me. The representative educated me on the life-cycle of lice and showed me how to comb through the hair using the comb I purchased from them (which was better than the RID comb). I also purchased their natural, n on-toxic treatments that smelled nice since the RID smelled awful. She informed me that combing through for nits every other day and basic housekeeping was most important. The experience was well worth what I spent since we were lice and nit free after 7 days. We had our first lice encounter last week, and I went straight to Walgreens where I stood in front of the shelf of lice shampoos and nit combs totally clueless. Then I remembered a friend had mentioned LouseCalls a few weeks prior. I texted LouseCalls from Walgreens, got an immediate response, left the store empty handed and Rebekah was at my house less than an hour later. Best money I have ever spent! Not only did she leave me feeling confident that we had no evidence of lice left in our home...she was also an absolute pleasure to chat with. What a crock. My family spent over 300.00 on nothing but a glorified "nit picking comb", and cheap conditioner - conditioner that was called the "treatment". A "professional picker" came to my home, charged me $215.00 for 1 "treatment" and 2 head checks (I wasn't sure if my other daughter or I had lice). She slathered this potion on my daughters head, and found one nit. One? After she left, I found over 20 nits and 1 bug, even though she assured me that my daughter was lice free, and that she wasn't contagious. After a few days (she wouldn't come back sooner), I asked her to come back because I was desperate. She claimed she found nothing. Nothing? She left, and I went on to find numerous nits and an adult sized bug. I asked her to come back (not sure why), and she told me that she would charge me $120.00, if she did find anything - this was part of the "guarantee". She explained that even if there "shells of the eggs" found, that I would be charged $120.00 + travel. And, I'll bet she would have found something. Anything for $120.00. Needless to say...my daughter still has lice. The magic potion didn't work. Nor does this service. SAVE YOUR MONEY - nit pick yourself or hirer a company that conducts themselves with honesty and integrity. read more
