Our table service was polite and professional, and the flan (OMG) that came for dessert truly topped the evening -- rich, creamy, and perfectly decadent. (Best part of the meal, hands down.) Seriously, we all took home leftovers, and ate for another day on those, alone. They have a nice selection of drinks, including a bunch of flavors of soju, which is the MadDog 2020 of Korea, but it's darned tasty. They have actual Asian-style karaoke rooms that you can rent. It's not cheap, but for what you're getting it's also not super expensive. My saint of a son-in-law paid, and didn't even cry. CONS: The food is terrific, but you're literally getting Korean junk food. It's all super sweet, fried, and loaded with stuff that any nutritional advisor on the planet would warn you to limit the intake of, so this place can be a special treat. The service was... I mean, we were aware that they were there most of the time, we just couldn't seem to flag one down. Eye contact didn't work and hitting the little "call your server" button didn't work, so we eventually just started taking turns going to the bar to make requests. Not a huge deal, it just ads a step. I'm 6' and right at 200 pounds, and I thought the plastic lawn furniture, apparently designed to fit Koreans, was going to give out a couple of times. the seat pan only covered about half my butt, which was awkward. It was kind of funny to listen to everyone comment on them as they sat down.

Funny enough one of them was at Awaji (another Chef Ly restaurant) and I prefer the toast to the nori chips. I think it complements the freshness better than fried chips. Crab Bisque - My dad loved it. He loves that spider crab. Curry Gyoza - I had to order it to see what it was. Good curry, but I prefer Chef Ly's gyoza sauce for dipping. Lobster Roll/Sexy Roll - The two rolls were fine, but I think the sushi rice was a bit bland or something, maybe not enough vinegar/sugar, or maybe it wasn't mixed evenly, not sure. Drunken Noodles - Very solid. Visually appealing as well. Sea Bass - Absolutely delicious. One of the best Sea Bass I've had. The dumplings were a great touch. This is their flagship dish imo. Creme Brulee Cheesecake - I had 2 Creme Brulee Cheesecakes that week and this one was much better. It had an actual brulee'd crust that cracked to the spoon's touch. Delicious. Service was superb. The main waiter guy seemed to be doing a ton of things, very experienced, and very kind. There's a difference between polite, which most servers are, and truly kind. This guy seems more than just polite; he seemed like an actual kind, caring person from my brief experience. He was also very fast and organized. That week we went to like 10 restaurants and this guy was probably the best. All in all, this place deserves way more business and I encourage anyone who also enjoys this style of food to spread the word, write reviews, bring your friends, etc.

It makes an entrance like it already knows you are going to talk about it later. The spice had attitude without turning into a stunt. Enough kick to wake everything up. Enough balance to keep it delicious instead of chaotic. Very confident. Very "I did not come here to be background sushi." The beef negimaki was absolutely the star. No debate. Tender. Savory. Glossy in that rich, almost dramatic way that makes you take one bite and immediately start guarding your plate. It had that perfect sweet-salty balance that makes a dish feel expensive even when you are trying to act casual about it. This was not just good. This was the kind of dish that makes the rest of the table look around like, wait, did we all order wrong? Full main character energy. Full Beyoncé walking on stage and everybody else suddenly remembering they are the opening act. The spicy tuna roll was fresh in the way you actually want sushi to be fresh. Clean flavor. Bright. Cool. Nicely balanced. Nothing fishy. Nothing tired. Just a roll that understood the assignment and executed. It did not need to be flashy because the freshness was doing all the talking. Very dependable. Very polished. The kind of bite that quietly reminds you why classics stay classics. And the staff? Amazing is actually the correct word. Warm from the start. Attentive the whole way through. On point without hovering. They made the entire experience feel easy, which is a real skill and not everybody has it. They were present. Helpful. Smooth. The kind of team that can make a dinner go from good to excellent just by knowing how to read the room. Real hospitality. Not fake nice. Not robotic. Just people who clearly know what they are doing and know how to make guests feel taken care of. Honestly, the staff were moving like a seasoned ensemble cast. Tight timing. Strong chemistry. No weak links. The atmosphere helped too. Lively without being too much. Comfortable without feeling boring. The kind of place where you can have a casual dinner, a cute date, or one of those meals where you say you are just grabbing something quick and then somehow stay way longer than planned. Good energy. Good flow. No weirdness. Just a room that knows how to hold a night together. it's giving... The Bear if Richie ran front of house and Beyoncé ordered the beef negimaki.
