Tender meat. It reminds me of the Japanese pork katsu but much more tender than katsu. I usually do not like mustard on sandwiches but this Cuban mustard was really good with the sandwich. Mustard had a taste of Dijon but with, I think, some hint of garlic. The toasted sesame seed bun was a little dry as it crumbled a bit. Got the coleslaw as side. Coleslaw was like having a brussel sprouts salad with vinaigrette dressing instead of the usual cabbage and mayo based dressing. I like how it's different from the regular coleslaw. The thinly shredded l brussel sprouts were very crunchy and fresh. Also had some carrots, cabbage and onions. The vinaigrette had a good ratio of sweet and sour tart flavor. The Carne Asada Tacos had really good quality beefy buttery tasting meat. Very tasty. Could have been better if not burnt on one side. Because it's over cooked the texture was a little tough. Had to wrestle a bite. Citrusy flavor. Pickled onions added a little sweet vinegar taste. Didn't take the burnt meat into account with the rating. Nice relaxed atmosphere. They had a full bar. Buckeye just happens to have a bar and a slot machine casino. At this time of the morning there were a couple of people at the slot machines, two older men having breakfast and .... Was that a beer?....already? Anyway, the food was just okay. I suppose asking for lunch in the morning throws off the cook who might still be thinking breakfast. The bar-casino a few miles down the road (or is up the road?) was better, I think. The people were nice -- nice in the classic small town way that makes it a why-am-I-not living here-all-the-time, way. I'd stop here again, and probably will since it's on my way to a place I visit frequently. But maybe next time I'll try breakfast during breakfast hours and maybe a drink because maybe those people having beer were on to something. Choices. It's all about choices.

What I would not have guessed before walking in, New Atlas is super clean and nice. Though it's old, you would never know it. The bar's front facade is classic. Walk under the awning/sign and through the front door, past the gaming room, and into the main bar. The bar itself is to your left, and there are several high top tables to the left. The floor is a beautiful well-worn wood, and the ceiling is painted, maybe copper, tile. Of course, there dead animals all over the place, and that is just cool. No idea how they keep them free of dust, but they do. The actual bar is absolutely incredible. It's what every bar should look and feel. The bar has a dark wooden bar top with a small rail resting on a bar face with decorated dividers and a slow curve. Below the bar face is a large box footrest. Now for my favorite part, the bar face. There are three beautiful arches, divided by columns and topped with a header, with intricate details. Within the arches are mirrors, the way it should be so you can see people behind you.
